My God Is Real-----.......2007-03-19
The record, oops, CD, sounds just as good now as it did then, without all the pops & clicks. Don't get me wrong, I still love to pull out the old vinyl, it has a much warmer sound than the CD. Too bad the engineers can't capture the warmth of analog vinyl, although I've found running the CD mix through a good tube preamp does recapture the warmth, but then again I ain't fussing. I give this record, (I know, old school, a high rating because of the talent. Don Gibson was one of the best songwriters country music ever had. I Can't Stop Loving You, probably recorded by more artists than one would care to count speaks of this.
As far as the other country album, it's good, but these two albums should have been reissued seperately. Kinda eclectic mixing gospel with honky tonk beer drinking music, but then again, it might be a good idea for the honky tonkin' people to hear a good old country rock gospel record, again sorry for the old school reference.
