5 out of 5 stars Where'd all this great stuff come from?.......2007-07-12

If you already own "LOUD, FAST, AND OUT OF CONTROL" and "ROCKIN' BONES", the two essential and amazing box sets from Rhino, you still need this. There is some duplication of tracks (Especially obvious stuff by Carl Perkins, Elvis,Roy Orbison, etc.), but this excellent collection has 64 tracks and you don't own about 40 of them! There are top notch songs here that Rhino should be kicking themselves for leaving off their boxes. Out of control rockers like "Red-headed Mama" and "Sixteen Chicks"! Jewels like "Where the Rio de Rosa Flows" and "Okie's in the Pokie" and Janis Martin's "Drugstore Rock n Roll"! If you've been trying to track down Mickey Hawk's explosive "Bip Bop Boom", it's right here and worth the price of the CD. All the songs have cool guitar breaks - even turkeys like "Johnny Valentine" and "Monkey and the Baboon" have cool guitar breaks. Get this.

    5 out of 5 stars A great overview!.......2007-06-15

This is one of those CDs that falls into the category of; "If you want a good overview this is the one to get"! It has a nice balance of big hits and obscure numbers. I have a big collection from that era and probably have all of these cuts on other CDs but this one is great for the "one CD for the car" type of thing. I think it's a great buy for someone who is new to the genre also. Great music, good price!

1 out of 5 stars Should have been great.......2006-07-07

The song selection on this one is great, but the sound is so bad it's barely listenable. Many of these songs can be heard to much better effect on other compilations. Don't waste your money.

5 out of 5 stars The best 2 cd set of essential rockabilly.......2004-04-13

This is a perfect introductory cd, for the novice rockabilly collector, all the big names are here, and most of thier essential perfomances are present. Also those who already have a large colelction of rockabilly should pick this cd up, just to have all these great songs handy on a convenient 2 cd set, heck I've got one set in my house and one in my 55 Chevy belair coupe. I listen to these all the time, even though I have hundreds of other r-billy cd's, thsi is affordable and essential.

5 out of 5 stars Great Rockabilly Starter Kit.......2003-08-09

Any Rockabilly collection should start right here. This two disc set really covers a lot of ground. There are an unbelievable 63 tracks in this set. And we are not talking bottom of the barrel. This is top shelf material. Disc one eases you in with well know Rockabilly favorites from the likes of Gene Vincent, Elvis, Carl Perkins, Wanda Jackson and on and on. 31 tracks of the best of the best. Disc two takes you into more obscure tracks that Rockabilly die hards will recogize. Joe "ducktail" Clay, Sonny Burgess, Charlie Feathers, Eddie Bond and 29 others have songs represented on disc 2. Now that's a bargain.

5 out of 5 stars THE TITLE SAYS IT ALL.......2001-11-28

AN EXCELLENT COMPILATION OF SOME OF THE FINEST ROCKABILLY MUSIC EVER RECORDED. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS SET. YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED.
