I bought Bleach the Best for the CD alone. The CD is wonderful!!!! My children and I love the songs and have a great time. In the car or doing dishes at home, this CD has music that gets you pumped to watch the series! The CD songs are the openings and closings for the show and it is great to hear them in their true form. The CD set I purchased from Amazon came with the DVD for Region 2 or for Japanese DVD players, pin-ups of the captians and Renji along with a booklet with the lyrics of the songs in Japanese. As far as I am concerned, it is worth every penny!

Best Anime CD in awhile.......2007-04-19

I love this CD! I watched the first 118 episodes of the show and grew to LOVE the theme songs. I wanted them so bad but Amazon has too high a price for this cd, so I bought it used from one of the sellers. I got the cd in perfect condition for half the listed price for a new one, and just wanted to comment on one of the previous feedbacks about the DVD issues.

First off, this listing is for the CD ONLY, at least for the used copies. There is another listing with the CD/DVD combo here on Amazon. So if you want the DVD as well, make sure to look at both listings carefully or you will pay the same price and only get half of the packege, unless you buy used.

But I do say that the price is worth it to fans of the show who are farther along then the english dubbed episodes, because many of the theme songs are from later episodes. Hope this helps anyone interested in the CD.

Greatest CD ever!.......2007-04-05

I love this CD so much. It's all I listen to right now. I play it in the car on the way to work and then put it into my computer and listen to it alla day at work. The artwork on the cover is very cool too. Well worth the price!

A Must Have For Bleach Fans.......2006-12-20

I managed to pick this up in Japan the day after it was released. What a great find! The CD contains MOST of the openers & closers to the Bleach Episodes that have been aired in Japan (they're well past Episode 100 there). The DVD (Region 2 DVD) has the accompanying "clean" opening and closing anime set to the music. Also included is a set of pin-ups and a book with Lyrics, Credits, and messages from Noriyuki Abe and Tite Kubo (all written in Japanese). A brief warning about Region 2 DVDs... they won't play in a regular DVD Player purchased in North America. You can play them on a computer's DVD-ROM reader, but be careful! You can only change the Region of a DVD-ROM reader 4 or 5 times before the setting becomes permanent.

I love Mannheim Steamroller's Christmas music, so I've been collecting their music for other holidays as well. I wish they'd avoided the occasional speaking parts in this but I love most of the musical parts. They did a good job on the Aaron Copland piece! I'll be listening to it other than on July 4th.

We were disappointed with this CD, but for the price I guess we can't expect much. I didn't care for the new style presentation of the songs. I like a more traditional rendering.

Not so bad, 100 tunes for 4$.......2005-06-22

I red the comments of two other people who have bought this 4 CD BOX SET and it is not really so bad. I will even add that there are some excellent tunes. However, I must agree with the fact that few tunes seem to have been recorded 40 or 50 years ago, mainly when you hear the scratches of an old turntable but it is just 2 or 3 tunes. Furthermore, if you do not know American music, it is a good BOX SET to buy if you consider that you received 4 CD for 4$ including 100 tunes. On these 4 CD, I have heard some orchestration that I have never heard before and I consider that they are different but interesting. Any way, after hearing these 100 tunes, you will say to yourself that you like this tune, this other tune, this other tune and so on and you will be able to buy a more expensive CD with the tunes that you like. However, I have bought many CDs in the last few weeks and as you know, there are always some tunes that you like and some tunes that you do not like on every CD that you will buy. So, don't buy it at 25$ but at 4 or 5$ dollars, it is a very good choice for 100 tunes.

You get what you pay for. The singers put their own spin on the singing of each song. If you didn't hear the words you would not recognize some of them. Even some of the music sounds like a bad recording of music played on a turntable. Definitely not worth the price.

I wish this review had been here when I was thinking of purchasing it. I guess you get what you pay for. If you are thinking of buying this, you are better off recording your own CDs (or at least buying one that you can listen to a sampling of the songs). This album includes songs that were mere recordings of the songs playing on an old record player. It's almost so unbelievable that it is funny.

Composer/producer Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, etc.) has already lassoed eight Oscars in his run as a Disney hit-deliverer, and here he rustles up several good reasons for the Academy to offer him one more. Of the eight non-score songs on offer, three are knock-your-spurs-off dazzlers: k.d. lang pours her perfect pitch all over "Little Patch of Heaven," Bonnie Raitt breaks hearts with the fragile piano ballad "Will the Sun Ever Shine Again," and Tim McGraw tips a twangy hat to friendship on "Wherever the Trail May Lead." The Beu Sisters' version of "Anytime You Need a Friend," also performed as a final track by Menken, satisfies musical sweet teeth--it's the sort of song that's practically mandatory on a Disney record these days--but its slightness doesn't detract from the at times rootin'-tootin', at times pure-prairie-pretty mood. Better than my anticipation, but not very good........2006-01-05

Well, I love this movie but not very. When I saw the poster of this movie for the first time, I thought it would be ordinary and very noisy, but when I watched it, I found it was so humorous! And the song in this movie were good! After I listened to the songs "Little Patch of Heaven" and "Wherever the Trail May Lead", I decided to buy this album. In this album, I heard Alen Menken's voice for the first time and I thought it was perfect! I love the song "Will the Sun Ever Shine Again" too. But I don't know why that I love so many songs in this soundtrack, but I don't like this album very much.

I think the music is why I like the movie so much. It is fun and entertaining and "Patch of Heaven" puts me in a good mood as I listen to it just before I go into work. Who doesn't need that? Admittedly, I only listen regularly to the first six or seven tracks (they are the ones with lyrics with the exception of the last song but I don't care for that version) but I still love this CD.

Beautiful Classic Disney.......2005-11-16

Just listening to the music and watching the movie makes me think about how the Walt Disney Company use to make their movies like Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and 101 Dalmations.

I thought the movie was just as spirited and charming as those older Disney classics. Sure it's no Lion King or Beauty and the Beast, but it's as good as any other Disney classic I saw as a child growing up with those films. Even the songs are pure disney magic with "Little Patch of Heaven" which is pure sunshine. Randy Quaid's yodeling is a hoot, Bonnie Raitt does a wonderful job with "Will the Sun Ever Shine Again?" I also enjoy Tim McGraw's song of "Wherever the Trail May Lead" and "Anytime You Need a Friend" sung by Alan Menken. Sometimes those two songs make me cry my heart out. If you like country or old-fashioned disney music, then you'll pretty much enjoy the songs and score on this soundtrack.

Beautiful music!.......2004-05-25

The music from "Home on the Range" was much more than I expected! I loved the songs, especially the ones sung by kd lang and Tim McGraw.

Kd lang's voice is so beautiful and lilting in "Little Patch of Heaven," and it fits extremely well with the feel of this film. McGraw also does a great job with his sensitive performance of "Wherever the Trail May Lead," played during the film's credits.

Alan Menken deserves a lot of credit for this creative and funny soundtrack. Even though this movie was overlooked and not incredibly popular at the box office, the music deserves some awards! I loved the movie and the music.

This has got to be one of the most incredible musical presentations that I've ever experienced. These two groups together in concert effect more joy, sorrow, remorse, nostalgia, victory, hope and power in 30 minutes that most of us experience in years. Amazing!

With the incredible proliferation of rock, and now rap music, this album is a great example of what music can me - simply beautiful. The MTC is, as always, splendid, and the Vocal Majority is truly wonderful. This a great album of sacred and secular songs, beautifully performed, and a genuine pleasure to hear.

This CD features two renowned groups in some of their best work. The MTC, of course [of chorus], is known around the world. Vocal Majority is less global in its familiarity but equal in its skill. For my part, I prefer the sound of an all-male ensemble. This is not to gainsay the MTC, however: only a preference. If you want to hear two great groups performing a popular array of songs, this choice will not disappoint.

Dance Music's Lost Classic.......2007-02-19

Everyone's heard (and reacted to) "People Are Still Having Sex" and those in the know know about "Blue;" but this release has somehow fallen off the radar. So much the pity; as this is one of the few techno/dance releases which actually makes an attempt to appeal to a bigger audience than the remixers and dancers.

This release was made more for the cassette, as each set of five songs has its own beginning and end song and is centered with a more atmospheric cut. While the two remixes on the end (an expression of the "use every inch of the CD" ethos which made CD buying a less enjoyable enterprise even before the advent of Napster 1) can be seen as unnecessary, they are worthy enough additions to the CD to listen to.

Buy this where you can. Maybe if enough people purchase this platter it will be rereleased, as the music has aged less than many of the hits that were on the radio then (or now) and it is as deserving now as before.

Spectacular Mantovani Music.......2004-09-20

This is one of Vocalion's latest re-issues of two original recordings made by Mantovani and his Orchestra in 1960. It pairs the folk songs of the "American Scene" composed by Stephen Foster and others, along with concert gems, all brilliantly arranged by Mantovani and his collaborator Cecil Milner. Stephen Foster's time-honored music appears to be having a comeback these days and so will the utterly appealing orchestral interpretations given to these chestnuts by the masterful brilliance of the Mantovani sound and the artistry and discipline of his musicians. Some 45 years ago, Mantovani's American Scene LP remained 30 weeks on Billboard's Top 40 List and rose to a high position of number 11. Listeners now, as then, will enjoy the melifluous string-laden arrangements of Beautiful Dreamer, I Dream of Jeannie, My Old Kentucky Home, Grandfather's Clock, and Goodnight Irene, and they will tap to the lively, full orchestra arrangements of Camptown Races, Ring de Banjo, and Turkey in the Straw. Decca's "Concert Spectacular" CD, never issued and rarely heard in the United States, teases the listener with a distinctive waltz time arrangement of the popular Sousa march, Stars and Stripes Forever. Many will shed a tear when they hear the cathedral sound of languorous strings and woodwinds in Danny Boy. This Concert Spectacular offers the listener a plethora of musical imagery. With extraordinary and unique orchestrations, one will feel the fiery excitement of "Granada", sense the clash of thunder and lightning in Strauss's Polka, and march step and "fall" with the Parade of the Wooden Soldiers. These two CD's together are truly spectacular, because their tracks are filled with the emotion and energy of the creative and distinctive Mantovani sound. AN ALMOST 5-STAR ALBUM.......2005-06-15

I would have given 5 stars to this compilation, had it not been for the cacophonous sounds of the opening number, DIXIE. The rest, taken from two beautiful LP's of the 60's, is simply reverent and inspiring. The orchestra plays with vivacity, the arrangements are breathtakingly elegant... close your eyes and see the fields of grain unfolding in your mind. Perhaps the most beautidul number is HOME ON THE RANGE. It is music-making at its best. The recorded sound is remarkable.

Carmen Dragon......."A Genious"!.......2003-08-12

The first two LP albums that I purchased as a boy were "Americana" and "Bless This House", by Carmen Dragon and the Capitol Symphony Orchestra. Many of the songs on this album are from those two albums. His arrangements of the songs on this album are more than tremendous, they are a pleasure to listen to. This is music that will live down through the ages. Thanks to Angel Records for the remaster of these albums. I highly recommend this album to anyone with the ear for great music.

The recordings were made between 1957 and 1962, and sound astonishingly fresh and vibrant considering their age. The program is a nice mix of Americana which is hard to resist. A real sleeper that I highly recommend!
