I searched for this for almost 20 years! Finally the Bear family released a near perfect recording. Great!

Lester Flatt and Bill Monroe--Bluegrass Greats.......2003-09-12

This has been one of the best concert CD's I've ever owned. Although the mix is a little cruddy, the clarity is perfect and the artists are excellent. Flatt & Monroe's voices bring the album to life, and little 15 year old marty stuart puts the drive to that mandolin...

The songs are classics and are executed with instrumental expertise.
I highly recommend this product, but not if is your first bluegrass album.

Superb live recordings of bluegrass masters.......1999-07-20

Earlier recordings of this group sometimes sound tin canny- they must have hired a great sound man for this one !! Old leather Britches is at the apex of bluegrass instrumentals- fine, real fine. This set of recordings is masterful 1!

The best bluegrass record i've ever heard.......1999-06-24

Hi, I live in Paris (France). I discovered this live recording about 20 years ago via a radio station. They played Kenny Ingram version of Foggy mountain Banjo, the best version( in my opinion). Then I've been looking for the vinyl version of the recording for about three years then found it. The Rawhide version of Marty Stuart is purely fantastic. Orange Blossom Special playing of Paul Waren is the best, strictly perfect. In face number 2, Bill Monroe featuring is "formidable". If I could I give more than stars. Unfortunatly, my vinyl version is very old and out of use. I am desperatly looking for the CD version. If anybody knows where I can find it, please tell me.
