4 out of 5 stars What do you get when you send a hillbilly to Hawaii?.......2005-05-05

There seems to be no end to the talent and creativity coming out of Fort Horton these days. This hot release "Texotica" contains 13 instrumental tracks that are designed to sooth the savage beast....at least it calmed me down on the long drive from Detroit to Green Bay!

Combine the talents of Dave Biller on guitar & Bobby Horton on steel guitar with the styles of Jimmy Bryant, Speedy West and Martin Denny (also a bit of Duane Eddy and others in there) and you've got one heck of a hillbilly-tiki-jazz CD! They've also employed the talents of brother Billy Horton on bass, Buck Johnson on drums, Karen Biller on vibes and T. Jarrod Bonta on piano. Released on Vinylux records, "Texotica" is a great listen from start to finish and sure to please! I particularly liked "The Sneak-A-Roo", "Tiki Tiki" and "Blackberry Bounce".
