Marketed mainly as a sexpot by her former record company, Mindy McCready chafed against that image ("I always wanted to say important things") and finally left the label altogether. But maybe she was on the right track to start with. The most memorable songs on her new Capitol album mine the same light vein as the majority of her RCA hits ("Guys Do It All the Time") but lack the knockout punch that earned her platinum status. She scores points for finding a good, left-wing cheating song, "Lovin' Your Man," told from the point of view of the errant best friend. And she's believable on "Scream," in which a spurned woman struggles to deal with the anger of romantic failure. But otherwise, this "country" album just floats by on a sea of homogenized L.A. pop. By its end, you don't even remember who's singing. Or care.

Great Debut from Mindy.......2007-07-09
This is an excellent debut album from Mindy - the good old days. Good singer who puts feeling into the songs. Here are the good ones:
10,000 Angels - singer needs divine intervention to summon willpower to turn down a guy
Guys Do It All the Time - sassy tune about turning the gender tables
All That I Am
A Girls Gotta Do - my favorite Mindy song. Great tell-off to a guy, it's a catchy song that sticks in the head. Great guitar part in middle.
Ain't a Party Til the Girls Arive - uptempo party tune
Without Love - touches on a wedding band and how it's just a trinket unless accompanied by love.
Thoroughly enjoyable modern country by young woman singer
impressive.......2006-06-02
This is Mindy McCready's impressive debut album. It features her wonderful voice and stunning good looks nicely. The title track and "Guys do it all the time" are must-hears. I enjoyed every song on this album and guarantee you will too. Buy it!
Awesome CD!!.......2005-03-10
I wonder where she went? She has a great voice and listening to this CD brings back tons of memories of days gone by. I would recommend this CD to anyone who likes to listen to female country artists with beautiful voices!
Great Debut album from talented woman.......2003-10-12
Mindy McCready was one of a few new female artists that emerged in 1996 in Nashville. The real breakout song of this album, and probably the signature song of her career is the tongue in cheek "Guys Do It All The Time", which was a #1 hit for her. TEN THOUSAND ANGELS is her debut album which has a variety of uptempo songs and ballads. The title track was also a top 10 hit for her, as was the tongue in cheek "A Girl's Gotta Do (What A Girl's Gotta Do)". My favorite song is the ballad "Maybe He'll Notice Her Now", a duet with Lonestar's frontman Richie McDonald. It's a beautiful song overall and it should have been a bigger hit than it was. She shows attitude on songs like "It Ain't A Party", "All That I Am", "Guys Do It All The Time" and "A Girl's Gotta Do (What A Girl's Gotta Do)". She came to Nashville at the young age of 18 and had a contract exactly a year after she came. Sadly, after her second album her star faded, and after moving to Capitol in 2000, she released her fourth album, but was dropped later in 2002. The ballads on this disc are pretty good, like "Have A Nice Day", and "Tell Me Something I Don't Know", which stand as the best along with the duet with Richie McDonald. Overall a really good debut album from a talented young lady, Nashville gave up on.
Outstanding debut is still her best album.......2003-08-03
Mindy is a brilliant singer and gets the chance to show it on this excellent collection of songs. The title track is a song about vulnerability while Guys do it all the time is an amusing look at different attitudes regarding men and women. Other favorites of mine include Maybe he'll notice her now and A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, although every song here is a gem.
The first nine tracks are (as far as I know) all originals, but the album closes with an oldie, Breaking it, which first appeared on a Claire Lynch album in the early eighties. Claire wasn't very enthusiastic about that album, but some great singers have covered songs from it.
Mindy has recorded some great music on her (so far) three subsequent albums, but none of those albums come close to matching the overall brilliance of this debut album. This is what I call quality contemporary country.

Super Sophmore Set.......2007-07-09
This is an excellent country/rock album by Mindy. Her voice has a great sensual quality on a bunch of the tunes here. All the tunes are listenable, and the majority are winners. Here are the good ones:
What If I Do - great country/rock tune about decision whether or not to go all the way
This Is Me
Cross Against the Moon - kind of a haunting and poignant quality to this one. It's about a rural girl with dreams of Hollywood who packs up one day and leaves the farm to try and make it happen.
For a Good Time Call
Oh Romeo - surprisingly good and soulful slow tune
The Other Side of This Kiss - great beat
Only a Whisper - slow and sensual with a heavy beat. Kind of arousing.
'Night' No Sophomore Slump--At Least Not Creatively.......2002-04-02
Following up a hot debut is always a tough proposition, one that befell McCready when she issued her sophomore effort, and on the same day as Shania Twain's massive COME ON OVER. Well, needless to say, IF I DON'T STAY THE NIGHT sold about sixteen and a half million copies less than Twain's pop breakthrough, in this case one of those ugly betrayals in which sales figures fail to match the actual work's quality. Granted, McCready's first disc was a masterful debut, but IF I DON'T STAY THE NIGHT is every bit its'equal--and then some. It's too bad nobody seemed to stick around to notice-the three singles from the set were all pretty much met with a lukewarm reception, despite being as catchy as anything on country radio at the time. And the remainder of the album was stocked to the wall with first-rate material--the title track, 'For A Good Time Call', and 'Oh Romeo' were all single-worthy. On top of that, McCready manages to cover Linda Ronstadt's 'Long Long Time'--and in the process turns in her finest vocal performance to this day. It's unfortunate, because the poor reception from radio here only escalated with her third (and justifiably ignored)effort I'M NOT SO TOUGH. Nonetheless, I guess the artist, and we as listeners, can take comfort in the fact that she released two first-rate projects--and that's two more than most artists can muster in a lifetime.
5 stars.......2001-10-04
I got this CD four years ago when it came out. It was one of the first country CDs I bought actually. I bought it after hearing "You'll Never Know", the most beautiful song on the album written by acclaimed songwriter Kim Richey. Although the singles off this CD failed to win big at radio, that doesn't mean that the songs aren't great. I still play this CD after four years! It's an all time favorite. If you bought her first CD "Ten Thousand Angels", you'll love this one. You'll also love "I'm Not So Tough", her most current release. The songs on this CD display various emotions and Mindy uses her voice like an instrument. "What If I Do" is a Mindy song with attitude, that same attitude that made "Guys Do It All The Time" a number one hit. "Oh Romeo" is one of the best songs and it touches on the sensitive topic of teen suicide. "Long, Long Time" is sung with amazing emotion, it's probably one of Mindy's all time best performances. Mindy McCready is so underrated as an artist. She deserves so much more credit than she gets. Her voice is pure and clear. Her songs are heart-felt and emotional. Get this CD, you won't be disapointed. Mindy is responsible for turning me into a country music fan.
Fantastic Sophmore Release.......2001-01-07
I remember the very day I got this album, it was the day it was released, November 11th 1997, I begged my parents to buy it for me. I wasn't dissapointed. This still remains one of my favorite country albums. Ten Thousand Angels was a good cd, but this outshined it by far.
The album however, was not well received because of some poor marketing strategies, and not enough support behind it. This could be why there were problems between Mindy and BNA to begin with. What If I Do was the lead single on the album, a song which reflects the confusion and aftermath of what happens if you give in to a man, or if you dont. The song didn't do too well, if I recall it only made it to #27 or so on the country charts. This Is Me is a great song that should of been a single. If I Don't Stay The Night would of been a nice single, with a classic looking video. Cross Against The Moon is a very nice ballad. For A Good Time Call is a nice song which is lots of fun, and Oh Romeo is a good song, although sometimes it lacks somewhat. The Other Side Of This Kiss was the third and final single from this album, a nice fun country song that will keep you singing along and dancing. You'll Never Know was the second single and proved to be the most successful single of the album, hitting the top 10, which was accompanied by a lovely video taped in Aspen Colorado. Fine Art of Holding A Woman is a beautiful ballad. Only A Whisper is probably my least favorite on here, but it can be a nice song sometimes. The album ends with a lovely rendition of Long Long Time, by Linda Ronstandt originally. This is one album worth checking out. The cd is also one of the first country cds to become and Enhanced CD, which means you can pop it into your computer and it will load a nice interactive section with stuff about mindy and her music. This is one album you must get!
Mindy's Best.......2000-07-26
With her strong showoff debut, it comes as no surprise that Mindy released this jewel with a different emotion. You won't find a "Guys Do It All The Time," But you will find some power ballads. One of the best is "Long Long Time," which displays Mindy's vocal power better than any other song she has recorded. But if you are looking for one of the better written songs in a long long time, check out the title track "If I Don't Stay The Night." Another strong song is "You'll Never Know," Which is a survivor song. The only smudge would be the silly "Oh Romeo", otherwise you are looking at a strong classic you'll want to play over and over.

AN INCREDIBLE COLLECTION OF MUSIC.......2004-03-20
Buy it! What else can I say? This girl has it all: great songs, a powerful singing voice, talented supporting musicians, and oh yeah, she is also cute. I am not much of a C&W music lover but that does not matter as Mindy McCready's music (at least the material on this CD) displays a broad range of musical styles. For example, "Over and Over" starts out sounding more like Mozart than George Strait. This is my "Hotel California" of the 2000's; i.e., I like every song on the CD and I never tire of listening to it.
i'm a little bluer than that.......2002-11-07
I heard a song a couple of days ago. It was Mindy McCready I am sure. It's lyrics included "I'm a little bluer than that" Does anyone know where I can get this one?????
That OTHER Country Lady.......2002-03-12
While many country acts today tend to incorporate pop rythms into their music, Mindy has faithfully remained with the way of old country standards. This is a great disc for those just getting interested in her work, it includes great songs like "10,000 Angels," "What If I Do," and "Guys Do It All the Time." All of these were major country hits, of course you've heard them. Now you need to own them. Despite the numerous references to red dresses, I think you'll find Mindy McCready's Greatest Hits an essential for your country collection.
Nice start.......2002-03-02
Mindy's songs have always been kinda of unique to me, sounds like she is a cross between JoDee Messina and Reba. Im waiting for her new self titled album to come out because I have heard a few songs from it already and from what I hear its going to be good. Buy it if you are a fan like me.
Great Set.......2001-06-21
Mindy McCready came onto the scene in the mid-nineties as one of the more promising female vocalists on the country scene(right around the same time as JoDee Messina). While Messina went onto to garner even more prominence with each album,McCready, inexplicably, seemed to go in the other direction after her promising debut. It's a shame, because her sophomore effort easily equaled her debut(if not bettered it), and both are well-represented here. There's also a track from her unfortunate third release('Over and Over'), which about less said the better. Among the highlights here are 'Ten Thousand Angels', the superb Matraca Berg composition'Oh Romeo', and a cover of Linda Ronstadt's hit 'Long Long Time', which is far better than I'm sure anyone would suspect it to be(and probably her richest vocal work to date). All in all, a great complilation that hopefully won't signal the last we hear from McCready.

Slump continued.......2007-07-09
People who gave this 5 stars must not be familiar with Mindy's much better former albums. This album is O.K., but only O.K. Mindy's first two were awesome, the third solid. This album, her fourth, is definitely her weakest. The bottom line is that the songs are just plain forgettable. None of them, except the respectable, Lips Like Yours, stick in my head. A bunch of songs from Mindy's other albums stick in my head. There are a few covers here: Maybe, Maybe Not was done better by Mila Mason, and Fire was done better by Chely Wright. Mindy kinda lost her way on this one, then had a bunch of personal problems. That's a bummer, cuz she is a good singer, one of my favorite, just not on this album.
"Mindy McCready".......2006-05-23
This was her weakest country album. It has numerous songs which might have been successful if marketed to the lite rock sect. Her music is soft and sensual which tends to get lost in Country music unless its very sad, upbeat, or sung by a man. Sexier songs are not as appreciated sung by women as they are in lite rock. Its very sad. "Be with me," "The Fire," "I just want love," and "Don't speak" are sexy and great songs to dance with that special someone. They were undermarketed. Mindy is great. Share this with the one you love on a quiet night.
Pretentious overproduction for unpretentious stylist.......2005-11-17
This artist makes some enchanting and engaging musical sounds - that's why such grandiose cliche-ridden overproduction and busy arranging leave the listener unsatisfied. There are two great entries (tracks one/two), "Maybe, Maybe Not" and "Lips Like Yours" which sustain nicely even in the heavy trappings. This is Top 40 "Cross-Over" material, melodic and catchy, conceivably based in part on Sheryl Crow and Bob Dylan (and possibly on Billy Joel - "Lips Like Yours" has some a few notes which recall "Uptown Girl").
"Fire" seems to derive sonically from Juice Newton - that's what makes it listenable, no slight on Mindy. There are no other immediately involving tracks, unfortunately - in fact, many should have been placed on the shelf, labeled "for future reference" - meaning a future collection featuring "previously unreleased material" - for fans only - though track nine brings the set back to respectability: "If I Feel Your Hand" is a memorable soul-bearing timeless sound, echoing the artist Spring ["The Spring Thing"]. It resonates with romanticism in a cynical (entertainment) culture.
Underrated CD.......2003-10-12
Mindy McCready left her previous record label BNA back in 1999 after her album I'M NOT SO TOUGH flopped, it was over creative differences. Later in 2000 she signed with Capitol. The song "Scream" was leaked, the first single, long before the album came out. The song didn't catch on with radio unfortunately, it's a monster ballad that she sings with conviction and passion. The album was slated to have 11 songs, with two that did not make the cut. "Why We Love" and "Sacrifice", two great ballads that should have been on. Instead they worked on the album again and before it was released, she recorded two new songs, one which was the next single. "Maybe, Maybe Not" was a song written by fellow country singer Mila Mason (who also has her own version out now) which is a fun bubbly song that had a great video too. Once again failed to capture anyone's attention at CMT or country radio. A last ditch attempt was when they released the uptempo, tongue in cheek song "Lips Like Yours" which is a great song, but went nowhere. It's too bad the album didn't receive more attention, because it's some of the best music she's made. The other new song she recorded was "Be With Me", which should have been a single, a nice midtempo song about devotion. She covered Chely Wright's "The Fire", and gave it her own style. "Tremble" is the best ballad on the album, it should have been a single, it's just a great song that would have exploded at country radio. The ballad "Lovin Your Man" is a really great country song about being the other woman, the one the man cheats on his wife with. It's a great song. Other favorites include "If I Feel Your Hand". The only song that I didn't care for really was the Phil Vassar penned "Don't Speak", but it's still alright. The album is great, so check it out, you don't know what you're missing.
Great Album.......2003-03-10
After a rather unsuccessful album Mindy is determined to get back on the charts with her latest release: Mindy McCready. Mindy McCready is a good album with a great choice of songs. The first song "Maybe, Maybe Not" is a fun, cute type of song that Mindy is known for singing. "Be With Me" is a nice, soothing beautiful song that Mindy hasn't really done before. "Scream" is the best on the album with such a powerful, haunting progression to it. All in all, this is a great album, one of Mindy's best.

By now, folks buying Mindy McCready albums know what they're getting into. If McCready's far from a devastating singer, she's also far from incompetent, and when she has solid material like Matraca Berg's "All I Want Is Everything," this album's most traditional-country-flavored track, or the road song "Tumble and Roll," she's capable of enough emotional vigor to pull them off. Unfortunately, her third record lacks much in the way of memorable songs, and whereas her previous two outings hinted at a feminist edge, the 23-year-old McCready now strikes a conventional desperate-for-love vulnerability and often a pouting vocal style. Invariably, the weaker the tune, the more she resorts to cloying whispers and chirps. If I'm Not So Tough has any highlights, they're to be found in Glen Duncan and Larry Franklin's soulful fiddle breaks and Paul Franklin's tasty pedal steel, which, to McCready's credit, are given plenty of room to roam. --Roy Kasten

Third Time Not the Ticket.......2007-07-09
Mindy declined some on this CD from her excellent previous two CDs. The tunes are catchy, but rather less substantial. Less genuine emotion comes through [tho Mindy is able to convey it], and they're more bubblegummy. That said, this is still a thoroughly listenable album. Good tunes:
I'm Not So Tough
Tumble and Roll
All I Want is Everything
2 Different Things - the first 3 listed are fast, this one is slower, but quite good
I've Got a Feeling - good, quick tune
Lucky Me - ironical statement by a girl who has the "hot guy" and should be thankful for it, supposedly.
Take Me Apart
"I'm not so Tough".......2006-05-23
This is an excellent album. There's something for everyone. It's a bit out of order but it's actually a chronology of love. The beginning, the middle, nearing the end, the end, starting over w/ baggage and so on. "I'm not so tough" is the starting over w/ baggage song which really is an anthem to men. It says, "I may have walls but if you give me chance I'll let you inside." "Tumble and Roll" is the middle. "All I want is everything" is the post breakup anthem when you're tired of hurting but want the fairy tale because its safe and unattainable. "Two different things" is the break up. "Dream On" is the song for when you've fallen in love but it's time to say goodnight or like someone else referred the long distance love has to go home. "I've got a feeling" is the anticipation of being with the one which you've fallen in love. "Thunder and Roses" is the dance of dating before you find a lasting love. "Over and Over" is when you just realize you are falling in love and you can't get enough of being with this new person. When the past is forgotten and the now is all that there is. "Lucky me" is one of the bads before the good when you just want to throw in the towel. "Hold me" is when you've been in a relationship for a while and you need the tender touch of love. It's about making things feel better and not taking each other for granted. "Take me apart" is when you first meet someone and you want them to take a chance. So my only complaint about the album is the lack of chronology. It should have been:
LUCKY ME
THUNDER & ROSES
TAKE ME APART
OVER AND OVER
DREAM ON
I'VE GOT A FEELING
TUMBLE AND ROLL
HOLD ME
TWO DIFFERENT THINGS
ALL I WANT IS EVERYTHING
I'M NOT SO TOUGH
Then maybe some people would get the story the album tells. Like most country songs, the album tells a story. Some of the songs may be missing that country flare but one only has to look and hear the album as a whole to realize its there just not where they've been looking. I highly recommend this album especially to anyone in one of these stages of love.
I'm Not So Tough Track by Track.......2003-11-17
1. I'm Not So Tough- 5/5 This song is about showing your softer side in a relationship and letting go of past relationships that may have left you kinda bitter.
2. Tumble And Roll- 5/5 Very cute.. when you're in love sometimes you just wanna let go and be as crazy and spontaneous as you can, and that's basically what this song is saying.
3. All I Want Is Everything- 5/5 This is the "Material Girl" song for country music. It's adorable and sounds great!!
4. Two Different Things- 5/5 I think this is a perfect break up song. Sometimes when you're in a relationship something happens where you just need to let go, but you don't want to let go. I think this song says all that perfectly.
5. Dream On- 5/5. I love this song!!! It's about a long distance relationship. Everything on this song is great.... the lyrics, the music, and Mindy's voice.
6. I've Got A Feeling- 5/5 Ok I'm kinda confused by the meaning of the song. It's either about two people finally being able to be a couple, or finally being able to "hook up" (and you know what I mean by that) either way the song sounds great!!
7. Thunder And Roses- 4/5 Good song about wanting something more passionate yet at the same time wanting something more tender.
8. Over And Over- 5/5 This song is about falling in love. I really could listen to this song "over and over and over and over, and over again"
9. Lucky Me- 5/5 AMAZING song. The only way to love this song is if you get the irony in it. It's written with this sarcasm that is so perfect!!!! I can't get enough of this song.
10. Hold Me- 4/5 The title says it all.. it's a song about showing love through affection such as holding. It's a good song but just a little too slow for me.
11. Take Me Apart- 5/5 Wonderful way to end this Cd!!! It's about falling in love.
THE BOTTOM LINE: Whether Mindy sings about being in love, wanting to be in love, falling out of love, or wanting everything.... it's gonna be a good song. I bought this CD at a used CD store for $3.99 *no joke* all I have to say is the other persons loss is definitely my gain. This is such a good CD!!
Third album.......2003-10-12
Two weeks after this album was released in September 1999, Mindy was released from her contract with BNA. Cited as creative differences. She hated the whole cowgirl hat and the pigtails, but they made her. The label argued with her over song selection. So in the transition, a great album was overlooked. The album had one single, "All I want Is Everything", which received little to no airplay on radio. The excellent ballad, one of her best, "Over and Over", makes an appearance here, only heard before on the GIRLS NIGHT OUT concert special. If you can find the import version of this CD, it's worth it. It has three extra songs, "I Love You Too", "I Don't Want You To Go" and "One In A Million". "I Don't Want You To Go" became a hit for the songwriter, Canadian singer Carolyn Dawn Johnson, who also wrote "Tumble And Roll" on this album and also does it on her debut album (Canadian Version). There's some great ballads here like "Thunder and Roses", "Hold Me", and "Two Different Things". This album was after her breakup with actor Dean Cain and "Two Different Things" seems to sum up their relationship. There's some fun uptempo songs like "Lucky Me" and "Take Me Apart". The title track is a great song as well. She deserves more credit than she gets, but she has a bad reputation in Nashville which is a shame, because she has the talent.
Just Can't S T O P ! ! !.......2002-01-02
I bought this album the day it came out, and I still to this day (Jan. 2002), listen to it on a daily basis. This album is Absolutely AWESOME! I don't know how she will top this one!
So B U Y I T , Listen to it, and Love it!
And don't skip any tracks even if you think that you don't like the song at the begining, Because I P R O M I S E before the song is over you will have heard a verse, a lyric, or simply the way Mindy sings it, and will end up loving it! I know it! and I P R O M I S E ...You will too!

If I Don't Stay The Night.......2003-10-12
This was the decline of Mindy's career and it's a shame because it's her best album. Her label did not like the material she chose on the album, songs like "Oh Romeo". The album's biggest hit was the top 10 single "You'll Never Know", which was done before by the songwriter, Kim Richey. "What If I Do" was a single but only cracked the top 30. The song is about being confused as to whether she should give into the pressure and succumb to desire, or maintain her dignity. There was another mild hit in the song "The Other Side of This Kiss". The album has some interesting songs for a country album, like "Cross Against The Moon" and "Oh Romeo". There's some great uptempo songs like "This Is Me" and "For A Good Time Call". Her cover of Linda Ronstadt's "Long, Long Time" is so heartbreaking but she does a great job. Other highlights include "Fine Art of Holding A Woman" and the title track. This is a great album so don't miss it!
GREAT CD! HOT SINGER!.......2003-02-03

Mindy's Best.......2001-10-02
Mindy McCready continues to shine on IF I DON'T STAY THE NIGHT, an excellent follow up to her successful 1996 debut album TEN THOUSAND ANGELS. She has obviously missed the sophomore slump with this album. It's a shame this album didn't do as good as it should have, only spanning two top ten hits (The Other Side of This Kiss and her cover of Kim Richey's You'll Never Know). The album is filled with great songs, that deal with real issues regarding relatioships. The sassy "What If I Do" or the ballad "If I Don't Stay The Night" deal with the indecisive feeling in a relationship of going all the way, or waiting until the time is right, and if the partner will respect that decision. "Oh Romeo" contradicts the Romeo and Juliet, where she affirms her love for her lover, but states she would not die for him. The haunting "Cross Against The Moon" will leave you speechless. "You'll Never Know" is a song about holding in your feelings and tears when seeing that ex lover, not letting them know how you truly feel. She does an excellent cover with Linda Ronstadt's "Long Long Time". "This Is Me" is an excellent confidence booster, about not willing to conform to fit other's expectations.
On this album Mindy decided not to wear any makeup for the pictures, after reading fan mail from girls who felt they weren't beautiful enough, so Mindy could show that she too has freckles and imperfections just like everyone else. There isn't enough good to say about this album, there is plenty of good material, its a shame she wasn't getting good promotion for it, give this one a try its one of her best albums, and one of the best country albums from the late 90's.
Mindy's Voice.......2001-06-14
Mindy McCready released this album in 1997. Her sophmore effort, If I Don't Stay The Night, is her most consistent work throughout all her albums. Not straying too far from the elements of her debut album Ten Thousand Angels, she continues to make great music.
The album though, was not well received with country radio. Witness the first single What If I Do. It's a fun, uptempo track that should have been a hit. Unfortunately, it only reached #26. The next single, the ballad You'll Never Know faired pretty well, reacing the top 10. Other singles were to follow such as The Other Side Of This Kiss.
Just because it wasnt a commercial success does not mean it was a failure. This is a very strong album. The quality in Mindy's voice has improved since Ten Thousand Angels. It's amazing how the emotion is delivered in each song. You feel as though Mindy is your friend and she is telling you a story through song.
Some standouts on this album include the title track, Cross Against The Moon and the Linda Ronstadt cover Long Long Time. The whole album is a pleasure to listen to. If you liked Ten Thousand Angels, there is an excellent chance you will like this one too.
The best album EVER!.......2000-03-24
This album has the biggest variety - from the heart-felt "Long, Long Time" (which has become my favorite song ever), to the sassy "What If I Do." This album has the most classic, awe-inspiring songs that I've ever heard. "This Is Me" and "Oh Romeo" live up to Mindy's strong image, and "If I Don't Stay the Night" portrays the struggle of inner-emotions when confronted with issues of sleeping with someone. The playful "Only a Whisper" and dancy "The Other Side of This Kiss" add to the album's spirit as "The Fine Art of Holding a Woman" adds to its raw emotion. I can not stress enough what a fabulous album this is. One listen to "Long, Long Time" was enough to bring me to tears. "You'll Never Know" is a classic I'll-never-get-over-you song, while "Cross Against the Moon" speaks of rebellion rising in a pastor's daughter. The emotional mix of this album will tear your heart one way, then another and leave you in total awe of Mindy's prowess as a result.
