This Is The Guy.......2006-10-03

I'd almost given up on Country music over the past five years. It seems like all I hear is tired old retreads being trotted out as "the latest thing," but still a few artists like Brian McComas allow me to hold out hope. Back Up Again is the follow up to his terrific debut CD, and though it was a long wait, it was worth it. McComas is genuine. He has energy and feeling. I can't say that every single song is great, but I've never heard a CD (including greatest hits CDs) of any genre in which every single song is great, but there is a lot of good material here. This CD goes hand in hand with the debut without attempting to copy it. This is the guy, and I think he will be for many years to come.

A sophomore effort that surpasses its predecessor.......2006-09-02

Brian McComas's self-titled debut album was a nice little slice of pop-country; it didn't take itself too seriously (most of the time), and featured McComas's light-hearted, catchy vocals. However, the album featured very little of his own songwriting; only four of the songs were self-penned.

This is probably the reason BACK UP AGAIN surpasses its predecessor: all but one of the songs were either written or co-written by McComas, who is indeed a talented songwriter--he knows what radio listeners want to hear, but manages to write songs that aren't like the fluff that get played every second. His songs feature both catchy choruses and thoughtful lyrics; the smooth--but not over-done--production seems perfect for radio...too bad it probably won't get played. Because this exactly the kind of smart, borderline-edgy music that radio needs. BACK UP AGAIN is definitely a step up for this talented singer/songwriter.

I bought this cd for the song "You're in my head" because it was just a fun song and easy to sing along with. What I got was one of the best country albums of the year. His song "Baby let me be your man" if by far the best song on the album. It is so good I cannot believe this wasn't a number one hit for him, or that it wan't released as a single. If you are looking for a great cd this is it, I have recommended this one to several friends who have also loved it.

Best New Artist.......2005-10-16

Is one release good enough to propel an artist into the stratosphere with Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, and Tim McGraw? Perhaps not, but Brian McComos' self-titled CD is nothing short of sensational and a real shot in the arm for Country music which has been lagging a bit in the department of new artists over the past three or four years. The only complaint I have: why has it taken so long for a follow-up? Isn't there something about striking while the iron is hot? This is for Brian and his record label: get the next CD out now, and I will pre-order it right now!

I bought this CD after seeing Brian open for Rascal Flatts and then again opeing for Marty Stewart and After I met him at the Marty Stewart concert I knew I had to get his CD... He is such a nice guy and has a terriffic stage presnce.

"I Could Never Love You Enough" is an awesome song. After seeing him in concert twice, me and my boyfriend chose it as "our song." Brian's music is the kind you can listen to over and over and never get tired of it.

Night Disappear With You is such a fun song, and totally relatable. We've all felt like that...not wanting to do anything but be with that certain person. It's not boring or typical, it's interesting to listen to! BUY this single, and also his other one - I Could Never Love You Enough. I can't WAIT until his CD is released. Don't pass this one up, he's gonna be huge!

I loved this single, and also the single I could never love you enough.I can't wait to get this CD when it comes out I think it will be great.I viewed some of Brian's comments on the song that he wrote and I can't wait to hear the ones that he wrote for his wife Shelly. Since I grew up with his wife, his music is even more interesting to me.
