3 out of 5 stars Too many "duets".......2007-07-12

I am not usually a big fan of Elvis impersonators. That being said, it is unfortunate that Orion has to always being remembered as being an impersonator. The man could sing. Unfortunately, he just sounded like Elvis. This best of does not do him any justice. It relies heavily on his manager's idea to have him record "duets" with many of the Sun legends. For anyone who does not know, Orion's manager purchased the Sun catalogue from Sam Phillips, and he just had overdubbed Orion's voice onto many of the Sun classics. The duets are mostly the original songs (see track listing for info) with a few lines overdubbed by Orion. When they were released, they were released on the Sun label with no artist named. Of course, all this material was being released after Elvis died, and the whole idea was to get people to believe that Elvis was still alive (by releasing new material, the mask, just the entire stage persona really). The songs that he records solo on here are the reason I purchased this disc. My personal favorite is his rendition of "Crazy Little Thing Called Love."

5 out of 5 stars SOOOOOOOO GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2005-06-04

I really like the voice of Jimmy Orion Ellis.
He is even better than Elvis in certain songs.
How bad he was so brutally killed.

5 out of 5 stars Ellis-Elvis - I'll Remember You.......2004-04-08

Great CD!! Jimmy Ellis' voice was a natural phenomenon. It is so pure, crisp, rasp (when he wanted) deep from the gut - just like Elvis. Actually he could sing certain songs better than E - and I'm an Elvis fan. He just had that once in a century talent like Sinatra, Engelbert, Tom Jones, and Elvis -- but he was never given the deserved recognition for it by radio who thought he was an impersonator - which he was NOT! 5 out of 5 stars Orion - Jimmy Ellis.......2003-11-09

Great CDs!! The Final Performance is fantastic - live at the NightLife Theater in Nashville. Orion (Jimmy Ellis) just naturally sounded like Elvis...pure clean, perfect voice! Jimmy was adopted...his mother's name was Gladys Bell and the father on the birth certificate was Vernon ______ (blank). For more, see the estate's official site at www.orionjimmyellis.com
