Hailing from San Antonio, TX since forming in high school in 1997, Cave Catt Sammy exhibit maturation and a darker lyrical content with their self penned material. They also conjure up learned covers by greats such as Jerry Reed ("Your Money Makes You Purty") and Roy Orbison ("Cast Iron Arm", originally recorded for Decca by Peanuts Wilson). No doubt their youthful enthusiasm has been tempered by 5 years of hard national touring and international festival appearances.

Cave Catt Sammy’s previous release, Love Me Like Crazy (their Rubric Records debut) perked the ears of national publications. Articles appeared in Guitar Player, No Depression, Goldmine, Atomic and Country Standard Time. The core band of leader Beau Sample on vocal & upright bass, Steve Scott on guitar, Dustin Hutchinson on Acoustic Guitar and Paul Ward on drums have added tenor sax player Ruben Lara. This adds a bit more raunch and authenticity to the proceedings.

Cave Catt Sammy delivers another track set worthy of the band's impressive history. Just enough tone from original 'billy with just enough modern song crafting make a perfect blend.

Now if I could just get a chance to see these guys live...

Old-School Rockabilly at it's Best.......2005-11-18

What a great sound this band has. Great old-school sound, with attitude. If you dig 50's music, you'll dig this album. "Cast Iron Arm" stands out by far, but the entire album is perfect. A great buy, and a great listen.

Now this is innovating wetsern swing/rockabilly/jazz!.......2004-06-29

This great rockabilly swing group covers it all from jump blues, to western swing with touches of jazz. Sammy's band is similar to Big Sandy's combo, from Anaheim. Fellow Southern Cal locals Cave Catt Sammy & his band are prooving to be a great rockabilly band. This cd is full of swing covers and originals, and instrumentals, as well as some fine vocals.

A versititle rockabilyl band, that plays western swing and jazz. The band members are influenced by everyone from CaRL pERKINS, nAT kING cOLE & wILLIE dIXON TO Slam Stewart(of Slim & Slam), Gene Krupa and Charlie Byrd! A greta band who is as much influenced by rockabilly music as it is by western swing ,and straight ahaed jazz. Thier albums are always interesting and well worth picking up, and especially this one whicj is thier best, so far...

Whiskey & The Devil.......2003-09-14

This album is simply amazing. They have done it again. Cave Catt Sammy is by far one of the best Rockabilly bands out there. They have their sound down for sure. If you like rockabilly this album is for you! Each song is great. These guys are also amazing to see live. I hope they release a new album every year, because there music is just that good.
