Oh how I can recall wearing out the LP of this classic Norman Connors back in the day! My favorite song is You've been on my mind,followed by the title track: Take it to the limit. OOHHHH! I paid a pretty penny just to have this. Folks, they don't make music like this anymore! I grew up in the 70's, listening to my mother's type of music. This is good stuff.

Take It To The Limit.......2007-03-03

Great CD; play it a lot on the road. Got only 4 stars because it is too darn short and the was a ton of material available to beef it up.

Recording is not worthy of the music.......2003-03-28

This is fine music. Blackjack county is a great song and these guys perform like the pros that they are. However that said, Why baby why could never come close to the original, and much more whoever recorded and or mastered this was not doing it right. The instruments are somehow louder than the voices. On blackjack county this is the most annoying because the lines are sung low and nearly whispered in some places. Trying to hear what they're saying is difficult because you have to keep turning the stereo up and ignoring the loudness of the instruments. This is fine music [A little to slick for me in some parts] with fine performances, just terrible sound on several of the songs. If I had lost the cd I wouldn't buy it again even though I liked it. That is how I rate them. If I lost them, would I buy them a second time? No. I'd get something from either waylon or willie instead of both more likely.

Two Legends of Outlaw Country.......2002-02-16

A nice little cd by two of outlaw countries finest. A little slick (80's) production but the fine singing of these two legends shines throught. A short collection (under 40 minutes)that would have gotten a fifth star if it contained more songs. Even outtakes of these two would be a bonus. Maybe now that Waylon has passed on his catalog will get a reworking/remastering. Country music lost one of its legends. He will be missed. But cd's like this will serve his memory well.

Short but sweet.......2000-09-07

This is a pleasure to hear ... from beginning to end. My only complaint is that it's not twice as long (only 34 min.). But it belongs in every fan's collection.

I wanted willies Tales "Me and the Drummer". I downloaded it on netshow,lost it and again I downloaded it on windows media player and lost it again. Would love to have that CD, unable to find it in stores. Please help if you can, Betty

A good follow up to Special Lady's success.......2006-02-13

Ray, Goodman and Brown made a good comeback in 1986, 7 years after that megahit Special Lady in '79. Special succeeded strongly as a ballad during a disco dance heavy music period. Maybe they took their time in that 7 year hiatus to make some solid songs. I like Take it To the Limit and the ballads that dominate this collection. Though I haven't heard anything from them since then, this was another good comeback for the group.

Their all-time best and most accomplished album........2005-04-15

Originally released in late 1986, this superb album is considered by many as being RG&B's best album ever. Sweet, soulful, romantic and seductive ballads like "Celebrate Our Love", "We've Got Tonight", "Someone's Missing Your Love", "Waiting For Dawn" and the title track remain supreme examples of Quiet Storm balladry at its smoothest and romantic best. Buy it if you're lucky enough to find it!
