Sherrié Austin's sassy, sensuous tenor has a captivating and irrepressible charm that's made all the more alluring by the delicious undertones of her subtle Aussie accent. Yet on her third album (for which she cowrote all but one of the 10 songs, most of them with producer Will Rambeaux), Austin fleshes out the lower-register textures of her dexterous voice while also breaking ground with some new thematic dimensions. Captivating originals like "In the Meantime" and "Time, Love & Money" address timely themes of adults coming to terms with youthful fantasies and finding meaning amid the madness and mundanity of the everyday world. These tracks also prove to be worthy showcases for Austin's effervescent purrs, growls, and harmonic flourishes. A real standout is the harmonically and instrumentally hooky "My Brilliant Mistake," a gem of a song about how life's worst choices sometimes mysteriously lead to happy outcomes. Austin's reprise of Dolly Parton's classic "Jolene" is also an exhilarating and stunning vocal tour de force. --Bob Allen

4 out of 5 stars Feeling Good.......2007-06-01

Good album. Sherrie has a great voice with a lilting Aussie accent. The album is mostly about love and relationships. Some of the songs:

Following a Feeling - good, high energy song

Somethin' Missin' in the Kissin' - very sultry, kind of sensuous

In the Meantime - wholesome, encouraging song about how the early individual dreams of a young couple may not have come to pass, but they are now content to build a good life together.

In Our Own Sweet Time - an assertive song about there being no need to rush things or plan out the whole future right now, just enjoy time together now. Good guitars.

Back Where I Belong - has a good beat, a toe tapper

Time, Love and Money - song about how there just never seems to be enough

Brilliant Mistake - fun song about happily finding a good man by "mistake"

5 out of 5 stars Amazing collection of music........2006-11-09

I have had this CD for awhile but have not put up a review until now. Sherrie' Austin is one of the most underrated artists in country music. Do yourself a favor and get this CD. In my opinion, it is her best. Probably because she released it herself and didn't have to fool with the recording industry garbage to get the CD released.

I have been a fan of Sherrie' since her first release, Words. She is in an elite group in my music collection of artists that I can listen to every song they've ever done and like them all. Shuffle all of Sherrie's 40+ songs from all her recordings and you won't be disappointed.

Following A Feeling is a great showcase of Sherrie's talent. You get her unique version of Dolly Parton's Jolene. There's country swing with Somethin' Missin' In The Kissin'. Some almost rock guitar in In Our Own Sweet Time. All intermixed with Sherrie's unique brand of sometimes tradiontional, sometimes not country which has gone underappreciated by radio and the industry as a whole.

4 out of 5 stars Most underrated country singer!.......2005-06-19

I have loved Sherrie since her first single "Lucky In Love", and I have all of her CDs, but this one is my favorite. The best song on here is "Back Where I Belong". I also love "Goin Goin Gone", "Somethin Missin In The Kissin", the title track, "Time Love & Money", and her cover of "Jolene" (someone else mentioned how they always detested that song and I have no idea why! It's a great tune!). The rest of the songs I can kind of take or leave, but these that I mentioned are so good that you have to buy this cd just for those. And while you're at it, you may as well buy her Love In The Real World cd, if just for the title track and my fave song of hers, "All The Love A Heart Can Hold". Sherrie is so underrated and definitely should be as big as any of the other female greats.

5 out of 5 stars BEST Sherrie cd!!!.......2004-07-19

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this cd. This is one of those rare cds that I actually listen to from beginning to end. I don't have favorites on the cd. They're all good. If I had to choose only a few to highlight from the cd, I would say that "Followin' a feelin'", "Jolene", & "In our own sweet time" are the three best. She may be petite, but no one can deny that she's got one powerful voice, especially after you listen to "Jolene". I HIGHLY recommend this cd as well as "Love in the Real World"

5 out of 5 stars THE BEST FEMALE CD OF THE MILLINEUM.......2004-05-17

Sherrie Austin is without question the BEST female singer in country music today. And once again, she proves it. There are a number of 10/10 on this CD: The best is "My Brilliant Mistake", but "Back Where I Belong", The title track, and "In The Meantime" are also flawless songs. "Jolene" is a song I always have detested, it did not matter if it was Dolly Parton, Martina McBride, or the worst of all: Olivia Newton-John, I dislike the lyrics. Sherrie, managed to get me to at least tolerate the song. This is a must have CD, simply put the best CD of the millineum.
