After an acrimonious legal battle with his former manager and an ill-advised move toward adult-contemporary pop threatened to sink his career, Clint Black has righted himself on the delightful No Time To Kill. This outing returns Black to the modern Texas honky- tonk that made 1989's Killin' Time one of the best debut albums of that decade. Stuart Duncan's fiddle and Paul Franklin's pedal steel are pushed forward in the mix; a skipping swing beat is injected and Black sounds like he's back in the Houston saloons where he started his career, singing about heartaches and stubborn pride with one of the state's strongest, most flexible tenor voices. --Geoffrey Himes

Another great trip down the MFU memory lane.......2005-10-19
My only problem is that THE CDs ARE COPY PROTECTED! Considerable work is needed to get the music onto your iPod, if you really want the music in your mp3 collection. This is a major hassle and a surprise, since the first set in the series was not copy protected.
The best of the three Double CDs ORIGINAL soundtrack release.......2005-07-12
Indeed, this is an unbelievable collection of three double CDs packages with the complete series soundtrack, and I mean the complete music, not a tune is missing.
And this is the ORIGINAL Man From Uncle music. Let me stress the point: this is the four years ORIGINAL soundtrack with the original recordings as they were heard throughout the series, not a no-name orchestra doing personal versions of the stuff. The audio transfer is very, very good, the music from late episodes is even in stereo.
Each individual CD carries over 70 minutes of music. All in all there you have the four TV seasons main titles and all, absolutely all of TMFU unforgetable music.
This is not a chronological release, meaning, all CDs have a mix of music from all four TV seasons. Volume 1 is heavier on early TV seasons stuff, fans of Jerry Goldsmith will love it. Those of us who prefer what Gerald Fried and later Richard Shores did with TMFU music, then volume 2 is mandatory. If you are a fan, you can't miss any of these six CDs. However if buying all three double packages is too much for you, you must go with Volume 2, no questions asked. Volume three is the weakest of them as it brings "suites" and a whole CD with "The Girl From Uncle" soundtrack, but you have a bonus "Open Channel D" beeper.
Each package is gorgeous, each with a glossy color booklet with extensive liner notes with details on how each tune was written to a specific TV series episode and how it was used onwards. You have bios on the composers, on how the recordings were made, even an overview on how many instruments were available in each of the years the music was recorded.
So, throw away your Hugo Montenegro Man From Uncle CD, this is the REAL thing.

Not Clint's best but still good.......2004-05-22
However, even though No Time To Kill is a solid record overall, I think it's one song short of being a great album. Clint usually closes his records with great songs, but on this record, I think he and co-producer James Stroud made a major "miss" when they picked the closing song. "Tuckered Out", the concluding song on No Time To Kill, is the song that drags this record down, in my opinion. In "Tuckered Out", Clint uses the names of numerous country artists, including Tanya Tucker, from whom he got the song's title. "Tuckered Out" is a rollicking song, but it's also kind of silly coming from Clint. However, I think "Tuckered Out" is the only low point on a record that overall is well-done. Elsewhere on the record, Clint shows why he got popular in the first place: by writing and singing meaningful songs. For the most part, he did himself proud. No Time To Kill is not Clint's best album, but it's still a solid album from a guy who I think is one of the best performers in country music.
Solid Effort.......2001-09-13
Black's traditional brand of western swing provided some of the best moments in late '80s - early '90s country and he continued to maintain this level of uptempo excellence with the title cut and "Good Run Of Bad Luck." A ballad, however, provided Black with his best recording up to that point: a spinetingling duet with Wynonna on "A Bad Goodbye." The sparse "Half The Man" hits home emotionally as well. A couple of the other ballads aren't too memorable and create a few potholes along the way. Overall, though, NO TIME TO KILL was a strong effort which kept Black in the country fast lane.

Not Clint's best, but still a solid album.......2000-03-11
However, even though No Time To Kill is a well-done record, I disagree with the reviewers(including Amazon.com's reviewer) who think it's a better album than its predecessor, The Hard Way. I have the tape of the latter album, and there are no "throwaway" songs on The Hard Way--just excellent Clint Black music. On the other hand, No Time To Kill, though it is a solid album, is one song short of being a great album. "Tuckered Out", the concluding song, is the song that drags this album down, in my opinion. In the song, Clint uses the names of numerous country artists(including Tanya Tucker, from whom he got the song's title). It's a rollicking song, but it's also kind of silly coming from Clint, a guy who elsewhere on the album shows that he can write and sing meaningful songs. The exploits of Ian Fleming's British super-agent James Bond have long since become the longest running film series in history, spanning 40 years and counting. Not the least of the cycle's charm has been its music, a body of work that encompasses pop clichés (the twangy guitar of Monty Norman's original "James Bond Theme") and elegant underscores alike. While this collection spans music from Dr. No to The World Is Not Enough, decades of various legal entanglements prevented it from becoming the ultimate Bond music anthology. This is more a credible simulation, a newly recorded collection of cues and suites (including music previously unreleased on the original soundtracks) performed by Nic Raine and the City of Prague Symphony Orchestra. With John Barry's lush, ever-evocative scores both forming the core and setting the tone (but also featuring the work of George Martin, David Arnold, Michael Kamen, Bill Conti, and Eric Serra), it's the most comprehensive--if not exactly authentic--collection of Bond music yet attempted. --Jerry McCulleyCustomer Reviews:
almost the perfect James Bond collection.......2005-07-20
Still, some tunes are missing(from for instance Thunderball and For Your Eyes Only)and most of the time the attention is on the instrumental version of the title track which is a bit of a shame. And yet, there are too many great pieces on this collection to make it a failure.Alpine Drive,Dawn Raid at Fort Knox,On Her Majesty's Secret Service(every track),Miss Goodhead and so on.All great pieces that not only show the great talent of John Barry but also the great power of James Bond films.Cause when you hear the music, you see the scenes in front of you.
Very much a recommendation to all Bond and Barry fans although sometimes it focusses too much on title songs. The only solution is to buy all separate soundtracks.
Good Collection.......2005-02-24
Not excatly what I expected.......2003-04-10
The James Bond CD for the John Barry purist?.......2003-01-28
Very enjoyable with most of the BOND music you'd want........2002-12-08
It gets 3 solid stars good collection yet defineatly something is lacking.
