Another Great CD.......2004-07-23
Without a doubt, CCR rocks and ain't no Country here!!!.......2004-04-14
CCR is a beacon of light,in a sea of garbage of all the new bands out their that are just plain bad. Cody, Grady, Jeremy and Randy are all talented at what they bring to the band and these guys are awesome. Plus other than Aerosmith and the Allman Brothers Band, they are the only other band I listen to that I like it all and have no favorite release or one I hate.
I like the following tracks on this one: "Look At Me", "42 Miles", "One Of These Days", "Back Around", "Bang My Head",
"Time To Move On", "Long Way Home", "Alabama", "Johnny's Song" and "Daddy's At Home". To Randy, thanks for "Daddy's At home", anyone who has lost their Dad can relate to it and it's one of my favorite songs. Lost my Dad in 2002, just like to listen to the song and think about all the memories with him. I highly recommend Cross Canadian Ragweed, pickup Carney Man, Live at The Wormy Dog, Highway 377, S/T Purple Disc, Live At Billy Bob's and Soul Gravy with a free DVD. Lastly, thanks to "the Dusty Show" for getting me hooked on CCR.
Cross Canadian Ragweed cannot disappoint!.......2004-03-23
"Look At Me" deals with a hookup in a bar, from a man who's down and out but still willing to try. "42 Miles" is about a man who just longs to get away from it all, but circumstances prevent him. "One of These Days," a funny little number about how love often goes wrong, will get you rockin' out; the title track is a haunting look at the constant battle between Good and Evil (personafied here as, of course, Christ and Satan). "Time to Move On" deals with that point in your life when you just have to, naturally, move on. "Long Way Home" is an ode to Vietnam, and those who fought there (and lost something precious). "Run to Me" is about the true meaning of committment; "Johnny's Song" and "Daddy's At Home" are two moving acoustic numbers.
Cross Canadian Ragweed melds country and rock into a sound all their own. Yes, they are influenced by Nashville; not a whole lot, though (it's evident in "Alabama," "Bang My Head," and "Look at Me", but not in excess). They've managed something that most artists can only dream of: they've created good music by doing their own thing. HIGHWAY 377 is a perfect example of what a band can do when they're set free--to be themselves.
I love this band!.......2003-06-15
