5 out of 5 stars A glimpse of what's to come.......2005-03-22

I have every Ragweed CD there is, and 'Highway 377' is the one that sneeks its way into my player far more often than the rest. It is a glimpse of the greatness that the group has accomplished and will continue to accomplish. When someone asks me where to start when it comes to finding Ragweed love -- I point them in the direction of this CD. Many of these songs that continue to feature heavily in concert -- even going so far as to re-record 'Alabama'. (For what its worth, I like this version better.) This is, in my opinion, the best Ragweed album to date.

5 out of 5 stars Another Great CD.......2004-07-23

They just get better and better!! Buy all of their cd's, you won't be unhappy! THEY ROCK...oh wait this is country -=)~

5 out of 5 stars Without a doubt, CCR rocks and ain't no Country here!!!.......2004-04-14

I just don't see the Country label these guys get. If they are Alternative Country or Country. Than someone better tell Nashville to evacuate music row. Because there will be a Hurricane called CCR coming and a catagory 5 that will rock Nashville like never before. To me mix ABB, with a little bit Lynyrd Skynyrd, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Neil Young with his Harp, good Olde R'N'R, Honky Tonk (Delbert style), Texas/Okie Style, alot of Originality and you get CCR.
CCR is a beacon of light,in a sea of garbage of all the new bands out their that are just plain bad. Cody, Grady, Jeremy and Randy are all talented at what they bring to the band and these guys are awesome. Plus other than Aerosmith and the Allman Brothers Band, they are the only other band I listen to that I like it all and have no favorite release or one I hate.
I like the following tracks on this one: "Look At Me", "42 Miles", "One Of These Days", "Back Around", "Bang My Head",
"Time To Move On", "Long Way Home", "Alabama", "Johnny's Song" and "Daddy's At Home". To Randy, thanks for "Daddy's At home", anyone who has lost their Dad can relate to it and it's one of my favorite songs. Lost my Dad in 2002, just like to listen to the song and think about all the memories with him. I highly recommend Cross Canadian Ragweed, pickup Carney Man, Live at The Wormy Dog, Highway 377, S/T Purple Disc, Live At Billy Bob's and Soul Gravy with a free DVD. Lastly, thanks to "the Dusty Show" for getting me hooked on CCR.

5 out of 5 stars Cross Canadian Ragweed cannot disappoint!.......2004-03-23

HIGHWAY 377 is a rockin' little album about love, redemption, desperation, and committment. Stellar songwriting and incredible performances drive it into a category only CCR occupies--the best of the best.

"Look At Me" deals with a hookup in a bar, from a man who's down and out but still willing to try. "42 Miles" is about a man who just longs to get away from it all, but circumstances prevent him. "One of These Days," a funny little number about how love often goes wrong, will get you rockin' out; the title track is a haunting look at the constant battle between Good and Evil (personafied here as, of course, Christ and Satan). "Time to Move On" deals with that point in your life when you just have to, naturally, move on. "Long Way Home" is an ode to Vietnam, and those who fought there (and lost something precious). "Run to Me" is about the true meaning of committment; "Johnny's Song" and "Daddy's At Home" are two moving acoustic numbers.

Cross Canadian Ragweed melds country and rock into a sound all their own. Yes, they are influenced by Nashville; not a whole lot, though (it's evident in "Alabama," "Bang My Head," and "Look at Me", but not in excess). They've managed something that most artists can only dream of: they've created good music by doing their own thing. HIGHWAY 377 is a perfect example of what a band can do when they're set free--to be themselves.

    5 out of 5 stars I love this band!.......2003-06-15

CCR is so much fun - you can tell that these guys are just going out there and making music that they love! I move the CD from home to car to office every day - and have converted several of my office mates into CCR fans. The music grabs you & doesn't let go; buy every CD they have out b/c I promise you that after 1 CD - you'll want more.

5 out of 5 stars helluva fine band.......2003-05-06

Way to go Chris. finally another North Carolinian who knows who Cross Canadian Ragweed is. they are one of the best out by far.Highway 377 is a great cd I recommend it to anyone. Texas country is a hell of lot better then that nashville [music] by far. as Cory morrows title to one of his songs says "Nashville Sucks"
