5 out of 5 stars Cross just being Cross.......2005-04-11

If you like any sort of Texas Country, this is the album/band for you. Cross is one of the best bands to see live and have amazing energy and lyrics you can't help but love! This album captures just how amazing a live show from Cody and the boys truely is. All the other reviews are true with each song, but the one song they all miss is "Crazy Eddie's Last Hurrah". This song is AWESOME! It starts with Cody sayin' ,"this is a song about killin' a woman because she pisses you off!" Its a great song to dedicate to any woman who has done you wrong! Gotta give 'The Boys From Oklahoma' props on more great work!

5 out of 5 stars Cross Canadian Ragweed.......2004-11-09

A friend from Texas introduced me to this band... Fell in love with them!!!!! Alabama was the first song I heard and loved it!!! Its the best IMO!!!!!! Cant go wrong with this band!!! Wish you had more stars to give to this band.

5 out of 5 stars 100 Stars!.......2004-07-23

ALL cd's by Cross Canadian Ragweed are Excellent and worth more than 5 stars!.. If you are unfamiliar, I would suggest and reccomend getting all of them a listen!

5 out of 5 stars Great CD.......2007-07-18

If you're a Pat Green, or Texas Country fan then this is a must have CD. A live CD, yet very refined, and high quality recordings. The crowd is mixed in well, you can hear the crowd when you're suppose to.

5 out of 5 stars Back When Pat Was Still Good.......2005-09-16

I haven't seen Pat in concert since his "Three Days" album, but he use to put on a great show. This was recorded druing that time and it comes across on the record. Orginal, energetic, and flat out good, this album will be appreciated by any Texas Country Music fan or fan of Pat.

5 out of 5 stars BEST BILLY BOB'S EVER.......2004-06-16

Live at Billy Bob's is the "essential" Pat Green cd, so if you've never heard him, get this or "Here We Go (Live)" first. Both live albums are awesome, but Billy Bob's has better sound to it. I give this and Here We Go both 5 Stars, so either is a fine choice. GO PAT.

5 out of 5 stars Darn Good Texas Country Music.......2003-05-12

Pat Green has revitalized interest in Texas country singers. This is a great album and doesn't sound "Nashville" ('cause it was recorded at Billy Bob's!). Pat Green's songs are written about all the good things in life: partying, girls, and Texas. A great album for anyone trying to escape the country music fallbacks of wining, crying, dog-left-me, wife-left-me, ain't-my-truck-great style of music.

5 out of 5 stars Great Listening!.......2002-09-08

A long-time Pat Green fan, this album ranks right up there. His live performance of Southbound 35 is awesome, as well as the track Nightmare.
Everytime I play this album I wish I were at Billy Bob's in Ft. Worth drinking a Shiner Boch! You won't be disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars Great Music.......2006-03-19

Prior to moving to America, I had heard nothing of the Refreshments of latterly Roger Clyne. I even watched King of the Hill unaware of where the theme music originated....then one day whilst searching for the Gin Blossoms I came across both the Refreshments and Roger Clyne .... This cd combines the best of Roger's whole career...the pick of his days in the Refreshments plus the best of his solo career. Counterclockwise and Banditos standout head and shoulders above anything else but the rest of the time the cd just rolls on through foot tapping song after foot tapping song . For me track 8 ...Mexico steals the show.
Highly recommended

4 out of 5 stars Better Live........2005-10-08

Hear the Peacemakers live. They are are better in person than any of their albums. This comes close and is very enjoyable to use to remember show time.

4 out of 5 stars Billy Bob's.......2005-09-04

First off I must tell you that this is one of my favorite groups. The CD is a great mix of Refreshment/Peacemaker tunes but the usually dead-on vocals come off a bit sharp quite often and don't blend as well with the music. Solid otherwise. GO SEE THEIR SHOW!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Buy this CD.......2005-08-13

This band has no equal. Period. No band puts more effort into the creation of great songs. No band puts more energy into their live shows. Buy this - you'll wonder how music this good has escaped your ears for this long. You'll tell your friends about the band. Then you'll see them live. THAT'S when you'll realize what you've been missing.

5 out of 5 stars The greatest live band makes a live album.......2005-07-22

If you have never seen Roger Clyne in concert, you really should seek him out. The guy performs like nobody else. You are getting at least two hours of music, stories and just one heck of a time. I recently saw him perform in concert in support of this album. I figured that the show would probably be him playing the same setlist on this album, wrong! Roger played request after request. The guy is about giving to the fans. This fantastic album is able to give people a taste of what one of his special concerts are like. Surrounded by great musicians and the most loyal fans in the world, Roger and the boys deliver! This album includes a lot of his Peacemaker stuff, but also a lot of his Refreshment's material. These guys rule, period!

5 out of 5 stars a real winner!.......2004-06-07

i can't believe how great this cd is! i'm not usually a fan of live recordings, but this cd is incredible! it's filled with all the power and passion that has made david an outlaw legend. the man still has it. get this cd now!

5 out of 5 stars great CD.......2004-02-07

David Allan Coe delivers another fantastic album!
DAC's maintained his edge over the years and this is a raw Outlaw Country/Southern Rock/Blues/Bluegrass/Rap record that's a joy to listen to again and again.
LONG LIVE DAC!

5 out of 5 stars great show.......2004-01-20

The main reason this one doesn't get as much attention as it should is that most fans liked the DVD version better, which makes sense, but if you are looking for a great CD of a DAC show this is it. This is great for listening to in my truck and believe me I've listened to it a lot. David does it all including rap, but he does not talk through every song like one person on here stated. DAC has done spoken word albums and even Hank Williams did spoken word so what's wrong with that? Truth be told, there is nothing dissapointing about this CD to me and all DAC fans should get this and play it for a friend. If you are not a fan you should give it a try. I think the new songs on here are very good. Somebody on here said they wouldn't be hits, but that's a given considering the current sad state of Country radio. Thank God we have DAC to entertain common folks with music that speaks volumes and touches the heart and lifts the spirit.

5 out of 5 stars real outlaw music.......2004-01-17

This is what Outlaw music is all about. Coe could have cleaned and polished it, but then it'd lose it's edge. David get's better with age like Willie, Waylon, and Cash.

4 out of 5 stars Too bad its been edited down.......2003-11-29

To correct one of the reviews, DAC talks and talks a lot, I was at Billy Bob's the night this album was recorded and was disappointed that songs where left off, which would really be my only complaint with this album.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome CD!.......2006-03-04

It's not too often that a Live CD captures the energy of a band, but then again, not too many bands have the kind of energy the Randy Rogers Band has. This is no studio CD. This is live. I've seen these guys live many times (unfortunately I did miss this recording), and this CD captures their energy. The music is something that's hard to describe. You just have to listen to it. Randy's voice is just amazing. Brady's fiddle playing is unbelievable. This is just one of those "must have" cds.

5 out of 5 stars Very cool!.......2005-08-23

Kevin Fowler
Live At Billy Bobs

The album is recorded live and by just hearing the first song, you know that it is going to be a good time. His voice sounds like he is having a great time when he starts "100% Texan". The album has his best songs from his first two records.

The first song, "100% Texan" just makes a Texan proud. He describes how it feels to be out in the country on a rainy summer night. The sound is the typical country and western twang. "Not Lovin' Anymore" is a sad song but its good to listen to after a breakup. He says, "I feel sorry for the next one in line" and that line helped me get over a hard breakup. Most of his songs are up beat and make you want to party, but "Not Lovin Anymore" is a slow sad song. The next song picks the pace back up. All the other songs are great for doing activities such as partying or when your at the lake or dancing. I usually listen to this CD when I'm plowing fields on my family farm or having a party.

Kevin Fowler sounds like Jason Boland and Cross Canadian Ragweed. They all have the same attitude towards country music. That the music s doesn't have to came from Nashville to be country. His newest record, "Loose Loud and Crazy" is a fairly good cd. Most of the songs are good.

Hag's first live record of the 1990s finds him, at age 62, in strong form as he skims the cream from his own remarkable songbook. His voice may not have the sheer force of his younger years, but his singing is full of attractive nuances and passionate depth. His finely tuned band is another asset here, most notably Telecaster magician Redd Volkaert, who has digested all of Roy Nichols's classic licks and has incorporated them into his own risk-taking style. Longtime Stranger steel player Norm Hamlet, fiddle legend Johnny Gimble, and Hag's "best boy," ex-wife, and harmony singer Bonnie Owens all make vital contributions. Haggard also pays homage to his three main idols with covers of Bob Wills's "Ida Red" and Lefty Frizzell's "That's the Way Love Goes" plus his own brand-new addition to Jimmie Rodgers's "Blue Yodel" series called "Motorcycle Cowboy/Blue Yodel #13." --Marc Greilsamer

Yeah, I was there at Billy Bob's with 2 Buddies from Work, I'm Glad to say, because this is a truly Great Performance! The Songs have more life than the Recorded Versions, and the Hag's Vocal Nuances are in abundance, almost all of His Best Songs are here...The Greatest Country Artist EVER! By the way, the CD contains all the songs played in exact order, as well as the stage banter, a REAL Live Event, the Show finished about 11:58 p.m. December 31, 1998, an impromptu Haggard sing-along of "Auld Lang Syne" followed at Midnight, Not included Here...

5 out of 5 stars One of his best collections........2005-11-08

Merle Haggard has always been my favorite musician, and I don't think that will ever change. I don't understand how anyone can not like this man. This is a live album which would serve quite well as a greatest hits type CD. It would also be a good introduction to his music.

5 out of 5 stars As Advertised: "The Ultimate 'Hag' Album".......2005-03-05

Considering how long Merle Haggard has been not only a recording artist but an absolute GIANT in the industry it's really surprising that there aren't a lot more live compilations of his work out there.

This one's been around for a few years and as a career retrospective/greatest hits/REALLY WELL-RECORDED live set it is awfully hard to beat, especially on a single disc. I'd have to short-list this as one of the concerts throughout the history of music I would have really loved to have attended.

Whether you enjoy crying in your beer or just drinkin' it, Merle has got you covered in "The World's Largest Honky-Tonk", Billy Bob's of Texas. The crowd is obviously into it, the band is absolutely sharp as a tack, and Merle's sixty-something year-old whiskey-aged voice has never sounded better. The overall sound mix is terrific; all instruments are heard clearly and the lead/back-up vocal arrangements are superb. This has to have been one of the best concerts the man has ever played.

The songs themselves are a primer to country music history, and certainly offer as good an introduction to Hag's work as anyone could hope for. Possibly the only standard missing in this set is "The Fightin' Side Of Me", but with "I Think I'll Just Stay Here And Drink", "Workin' Man Blues", "Silver Wings", "Swinging Doors", "The Bottle Let Me Down", "Misery & Gin" (notice a pattern here?), "The Emptiest Arms In The World", "Mama Tried", "Today I Started Loving You Again", "Okie From Muskogee" (of course), "Big City", and "If We Make It Through December" (the song most responsible for getting me through my own layoff in 2003), you get a reall phenomenal collection of music played with a vibrancy that frankly studio recordings (even Hag's) just don't seem to pull off.

Just an incredible set...see this guy live if you get half a chance; if you can't see him, but this CD. Any country music or Southern Rock fan needs to own this. Anyone who was ever remotely curious as to why Merle Haggard is as well-regarded as he is needs only to listen to this CD once to understand completely.

5 out of 5 stars Believably awesome album.......2003-01-25

This is simply one of, if not the best, Merle album available on the shelf. Great recording. Great song selection. As a native Texan, patron of Billy Bob's, and Merle fan, I honestly and unequivocally recommend this album to the true country music lover. Great to listen to with a bottle in hand or driving stone cold sober down the road. This is Merle at his best.

4 out of 5 stars Live at Billy Bob's Texas.......2000-06-12

Merle's band sounds much better live than in studio. The solos are much longer and vibrant on this disc. A must have for Merle fans.

5 out of 5 stars Great guitar and a lot of fun.......2003-01-08

This is a very cool disc. Roy plays in several different styles ( Jazz, Country, Bluegrass ) and has some fun with the band an audience. There's some great playing and some of his best hits. A lot of fun and a good first Roy Clark disc to pick up if you're looking for somewhere to start.
