I heard big daddy for the first time in 2001! I was blessed by them and so were the entire crew that was with us. Their lyrics are honest and they are really good musicians to boot! On this albumn, the Rich Mullins song "Hold Me Jesus" is my favorite!

I have been a big fan of Big Daddy Weave for a long time, so when I saw their new album, "Every Time I Breathe" at Wal-Mart, I had to buy it. I listened to it and decided that it was one of the best cds I had found in a long time. I have listened to the song "Every Time I Breathe" over and over again and it still moves me every time i listen to it. The other 10 songs are nothing short of excellent as well. A great cd that is a little more mellow than their previous releases but still upbeat with uplifting lyrics. This cd is a definite keeper!

This album is incredible & very well balanced. It comes off a little more mellow than previous efforts, and just as Christ-exalting! Like Chris Tomlin, the vocals are softer and gentler than many bands, but do not lose the punchy edge that keeps big daddy weave the upbeat, Spirit-filled quintet they are. As on stage, so it is with this album, the joy of the LORD flows from the music these guys put together! PRAISE GOD! as they sing on 'every time i breathe', "...everytime i get another glimpse of Your heart, i realize, it's True; that You are so marvelous God! and i am so in love with You!..." 'all for you' rejoices in the miracle of New Life in Christ! 'when i see You' is a beautiful, melodic testament to the transforming power of Christ Jesus in the life of a believer! Praise the LORD He never lets go of His own!!! The bubbling reconstruction of the familiar hymn, 'trust and obey' is really pleasing, and breathes new life into this wonderful, God-honoring song! The first time I heard "Let It Rise", which incidentaly was when they performed it live at a concert I was at, I was moved. This is another great album for BDW. Could not wait to grab a copy upon its release. Love the horns on one of the tracks, and the violin too, they add just the right flavor. "Let the songs of the Lord, rise among us!" Thanks BDW!

I absolutely LOVE this album. These songs are contemporary and fun to listen to but the lyrics are still meaningful. There is a great mix of rock and more traditional folk-ish songs, great harmony, and even a little rap stuck in - there is something for everyone on this album. The more I listen to this album, the more I love it! I listen to it EVERY day!!! I highly recommend this album to any christian looking for modern music with strong faith-based lyrics.

Great Sound, Great Lyrics.......2007-02-03

Another Journal Entry is another quality CD by BarlowGirl. It combines good rock and roll with solid, positive lyrics. The lead singer has a very beautiful voice.

There are several very good songs on here. Some of my favorites are as follows: Grey, Let Go, I Need You To Love Me, and Never Alone.

This group combines some very good attributes: positive, inspirational lyrics that parents will appreciate with energetic rock that will appeal to teenagers. Actually, their appeal is far broader than just teens. This is good stuff for anyone.

If you are looking for something to buy for a teenage girl especially, I highly recommend BarlowGirl.

WOW!!!!! What an awesome CD. I've had it for almost two months and it has barely come out of my CD player. The lyrics are absolutely wonderful and the message that the lyrics give is even better! I actually used to not like BarlowGirl (I know, I am weird), but now I love their music. I love how through their music alone, I can see their passion for God. I would definitely suggest that you get this CD b/c it has helped me so many times in so many ways. I'm sure that there is a song on this CD that expresses what is on your heart! I thoroughly enjoyed this CD. It has great and inspiring Christian music.

The new acoustic versions are great, my favorite one being On My Own. Porcelean Heart was probably my least favorite remix, since all they took out was violin, basically. Overall I thought it was a great CD and a great investment. I strongly encourage buying this album from the stores instead of online so that you can get all the bonus features - the website is great. Also, buying the actual CD supports the group more. I liked the first CD better, just because I prefer that kind of lyrics better. That CD is more personally uplifting and inspiring to have confidince in yourself and good values. This CD had more praise-type songs. This doesn't say this CD is bad, it's great. I just think the other one is better. If you don't have eather, buy the other one. If you have the other one, spend the extra money and get the expanded edition.

This recording was one that came recommended by amazon, based on previous purchases. I decided "What the heck" and ordered it. I am so pleased that I did! It's an uplifting wonderful blend of voices. I prefer the traditional songs, the the choir also performs some modern pieces, and adapts those pieces to their own style.

They just have amazing voices. There are two Tom Waits songs on the album; and while i'm a big fan of Tom Waits, sometimes it's hard to hear how to sing his songs yourself. The Boys bring out their musicality in a way that's accessible for everyone - i can sing those songs in the shower now! ;) Great album!

I was not really familiar with the Blind Boys until I purchased this CD. I love their old-time blue-zy style and plan to purchase more of their music.

The Blind Boys reach out here to broaden their base beyond the traditional gospel fan. They start out by covering material by the Rolling Stones (I just wanna see his face from Exile On Main Street), Tom Waits, and others. They add some mainstraem guest stars to further broaden the appeal. There's blues, rock, soul here all blended together expertly.
This won a number of awards and deservedly so. I'm sure there's many people who didn't realize that they can enjoy gospel music until they listened to this.

You'll fall in love with the Blind Boys after listening to this CD.......2005-09-23

If you weren't already in love with the Blind Boys, you will fall in love with them and their music after listening to this CD.

Prior to hearing this, I wasn't a gospel fan, and wasn't really sure what my reaction would be. Since I bought this CD I have purchased about five others by the Blind Boys - and while they're all superb, this one is my favorite.

It's hard to pick favorite songs on this CD, although, "Run on for a Long Time," "Soldier," and "The Last Time" are a few. You'll find a lot of variety here, from uptempo tracks to more solemn and slow songs.

You might also recognize "Way Down in the Hole" as the opening track from HBO's series "The Wire."

Having toured with Elvis Costello, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Peter Gabriel, the Blind Boys have earned their place in mainstream music culture, but maintain the traditional sounds that appeal to audiences around the world.

I saw the Blind Boys of Alabama for the first time on Austin City Limits, singing "Amazing Grace." I remember being completely drawn in at the harmony and the rendition, as it sounded almost like a chain gang. The beginning cadence sounds a bit like "The House of the Rising Sun," but you forget about that once the vocals start in. The rest of the CD is equally moving. I've read other reviews claiming goosebumbs, tears, etc. -- my sentiments exactly. Bravo.

I heard a new song of their's (equally fabulous) on the radio a few days ago but suppose the CD has not yet been released -- I'm waiting!

The best kids album there is!!!.......2007-02-17

Like other reviewers, I had this tape when I was younger. I think I acquired this tape when I was 9 or 10 and that was all I would listen to! I took it with me on vacation and I would listen to it through headphones but would still sing the songs outloud. My parents grew tired of hearing me sing the same songs over and over again. The tape was long gone by the time my daughter came around, and to my delight they have made it available on CD!!! Really people, 5 stars is not a high enough rating. Even though I haven't listened to this music for over 10 years I was able to sing every word of it once I got the CD home. It gives us such a good message and I still love every single song on the CD. My daughter loves them too and asks to listen to Music Machine every time we get in the car. DO NOT HESITATE to buy this CD for your children or any other children you may know. I can't say enough good things about this CD and the postive Christian message it sends.

Reliving my childhood.......2007-01-08

When I was in the 1st grade, I was in the Music Machine musical at our church. I would sit with my Music Machine album and listen to it for hours on end. The words and lessons have stayed with me throughout my life.
I am now a mother of two sons (ages 2 & 4). Everytime we get into the car, they both chant "Music Machine! Music Machine!". Although, I've heard these songs about a billion times, I never tire of them. It's such a blessing to see my children learning the same values that I was taught.

.. my oldest one grew up with the record and the tune of "have patience" ;-).. now she is fully grown and has moved away, however," have patience" is still in big demand when she experiences difficult situations and turns to me for help.Imagine my surprise and joy to discover that the tunes are still available, and, by the way, so much more reasonable than bidding for it on ebay.

I am so happy I found this cd!! I had it on tape as a child. I loved it. I decided to do a seach and found it here. I am buying it for my kids. I remember rocking out to the Music Machine song. So much fun! I can't wait for my kids to have fun with it. Also, there is a cd called Bullfrogs & Butterflies that is a lot of fun. If you don't have it I would suggest purchasing it.

My children are all grown and married now with children of their own. I bought this back in 1977 from a salesman who knocked on the door. It cost about twenty dollars for the set of records. My husband said never buy from a door to door salesman! It turned out to be my childrens favorite album ever. They listened to it over and over, especially Herbie the snail.:) Now that I have grandchildren I've been on a mission to find this. Thanks to Amazon and my never-give-up attitude, I found it and sent it to my grandchildren for Christmas. It's a wonderful lesson in love, patience, kindness, etc. All the good things that kids need to grow up learning about. My daughters were thrilled when I told them I found the Music Machine. Your kids will love it!

The Statlers are among the best in the business. Music can be such a huge part of peoples lives, we sometimes need the harmony to get over hard times, or rememeber simpler times we have grown so fond of.

These classics are heart felt, songs like "Blesssed Be" are reminders to us that God loves us, and we will all get the chance to hear his word, so listen up.

These wonderful songs paint a picture right from the Bible.
Stories of David, and a song to remind us the "King" is coming, You'll enjoy these Statler version Hymms for some time.

When I saw that nobody has yet to leave a review of this album I jumped at the chance to bring my perspective to a web site that has many.many visitors.

This album is a great rush hour traffic ride, it will calm the nerves and you'll learn a lot listening to the message.

Life Changing Album.......2007-06-22

I bought this tape in 1997 after seeing Fred on TV singing "No Weapon". And at the time I didn't really even know who Fred was. Wow! I had no idea this tape would change my life. It is anointed and life-changing worship music. I wore the tape out in my truck as I drove to and from college and work in the late 90's. I have since bought every Fred Hammond album since then. I agree that this IS Fred's best album, and I would STRONGLY recommend it to anyone. It will bless you tremendously and teach you how to be a true worshiper.

I have misplaced the tape now (it's so worn out I don't think it will play anymore) so I am going to order it on CD finally. My favorite songs on this album are "O Give Thanks" "Spirit of David" & "Blessing & Honor". "Blessing & Honor" is so anointed it will send chills down you. I would like to even play that song at my wedding later this year.

One of Fred's Strongest.......2007-05-18

Everything about this album is worshipful. The Spirit of David is an amazing concept to base the album on and we can see Fred as a Psalmist earnestly talking to God and telling him how good he is.
The CD starts out amazingly with the first 3 songs, When the Spirit of The Lord, Oh Give Thanks, and my favorite Shout Unto God. The songs grab my attention and are fun and easy to learn. The CD then moves into Keeping My Mind, a mid-tempo easy song to listen to. Next is No Weapon which is a classic and then Blessings and Honor, which is a simple song. Then Dwell, a nice song and Promise Keeper another favorite. Fred's writing shines on Promise Keeper and it is just a beautiful song with a beautiful arrangement. Even the Interlude, The Lord Is Good, sounds awesome with the harmony. Draw Nigh, and Breath Into Me Oh Lord are wonderful worship songs. Draw Nigh sounds like Fred worshipping with a mic in front of him. Then Prodigal Son reminds us that we are never to far and that God is waiting for us. Call me righteous is a great song to end the album with and it is a fun song.

This is the album to get from Fred, either this or Pages of Life I&II. Don't get me wrong, his new stuff is good, but definitely not as good as those two albums.

Extraordinary Album!.......2006-04-08

Where should I start.This entire CD is AWESOME! Fred Hammond is truly The Sweet Psalmist of America! When you listen to this cd, be prepared to go to another level in your worship experience. I love every song on this cd especially breathe into me Oh Lord, keeping my mind on Jesus, the entire cd is great. I would also like to add that this album is truly anointed by God! I have two sons that love rap music,They have never voluntarily listened to any gospel music,(they listened to it when i played it ) When I played this Fred Hammond cd, my sons kept it on repeat all nightlong! this cd honestly is my favorite favorite cd of all time, I love Fred Hammond's music!

Wonderful CD.......2006-03-09

The CD came quick, and this is the second one I've ordered. I love Fred Hammonds vocals, and this is one of his more inspirational CD's.

THIS CD IS THE BEST ONE!!! I have just about all of his CD's. I grew up with Fred when he sang with Commissioned (along with Marvin, Mitchell, Keith, and all the rest). He also used to play for the Winans. This IS a meditation CD-meditation on God's Word. This CD pulled me through some tough times in my teen years. It encouraged me to hold on when I wanted and tried to take my life from this earth. God speaks through this man in this CD. All the other ones are really good, but this was the chainbreaker. I am a worshipper, and I can really relate to his worship songs. I love every last one of these songs--they're all my favorites!!! Fred and I sing duets all the time (meaning I sing with the CD). There are many, many Christian artists, but only few have the Anointing in each and every song. I wore this CD out and now have to buy a new one. (Yay!!) Fred, I love ya, man, I am your biggest fan, and may God continue to bless you in your career--please, don't stop making worship songs!!!!!!!

Great for kids with Autism.......2007-04-10

As a parent of profoundly autistic twin boys, who have the capability of repeating phrases and parts of songs LOUDLY and without regard to where they are (be it school or a basketball game, the grocery store, library, etc.) this CD has been a Godsend. Literally. Now they sing about God everywhere and no one can stop them =)=) Rock On!
