After the surprise success of 1962's Dr. No, the producers of the budding James Bond series began to establish what would become its trademark elements, with its debonair anti-hero frolicking libidinously through increasingly amped-up foreign intrigue and exotic locales. Musically, this soundtrack represents perhaps their most crucial decision: hiring band leader/budding composer John Barry as scorer. Abandoning the first film's calypso kitsch for an orchestra powered cocktail of elegance and jazzy sophistication, Barry immediately gave the Bond saga a focused musical language that would become arguably its most consistent element over the decades and amidst a revolving series of lead actors and increasingly improbable cinematic predicaments. While anchored by a medley that includes Monty Norman's "James Bond Theme," this soundtrack also introduced another longstanding Bond tradition, the pop-ballad title track/single, here penned by Lionel Bart and sung with urgent conviction by British crooner Matt Munro. Barry's first - incredible.......2007-01-19

Well, what can you say that hasn't already been exclamated? Barry's score for FRWL is, of course, brilliant. Very creative use of eastern/oriental influences that blends effectively with 1960's orchestral sensibilities. The score is extremely dynamic without being overbearing. Barry does a great job of establishing main themes without resorting to predictable embellishments. Personal favourites include the main 007 theme(obviously), "Tanya meets Klebb", and "Spectre Island and Smersh" (classic 1960's Bond suspense). All the bongo parts and rhythmic ostinatos work fantastically well! Listen to pieces like "Girl Trouble", there's some extremely well-crafted and sophisticated exotic motifs there, superimposed over driving syncopated rhythms. We also find a lot of vibraphone/string unisons (my favourite combo) and of course, great brass parts. And let's not forget the solid title theme, beautifully rendered by british vocalist Matt Munro in classic Sinatra style. Munro really set the standard for future title themes. The recording is great, just the right balance between ambience and that nice analog grit that you find on so many 60's orchestral recordings. Some of today's soundtrack composers would do well to take a few lessons from the old masters - you rarely hear music of this dynamic range anymore, which is a real shame considering todays technology and the potential for dynamic range, noise floor levels and soundstage fidelity. But that's the way it usually goes, isnt it? I'm usually more partial towards the Barry's 1970's work and some of the 80s Bond soundtracks like Bill Contis amazing work on FYEO, but when it comes to the true masters and genre milestones, look no further that John Barry and FRWL.

Chronological order.......2006-11-20

Barry's first Bond score is, of course, brilliant. If you want to listen to it in film order, as I do, here's how to re-order the CD:

15, 1, 11, 2, 14, 16, First 1:00 of 9, 5, 7, 12, 8, 6, 3, 4, 18, 17, Second 1:00 of 9, 13, 10.

If you can't split up track 9, put it at the second spot. Also, tracks 4 and 12 do not appear in the actual film, but the positions are where Barry intended these cues to go.

Fantastic Soundtrack!! Great Remaster!!.......2006-03-04

This is really a remarkable soundtrack and the remastered sound is phenomenal!! To me this is where the music for the James Bond movies really began to take shape. There are themes developed here that have continued throughout the series of films. Great stuff, highly recommend!

The best of the series.......2006-01-12

Inventive, tuneful and just pleasant to listen to musical backdrop to what many, including me, believe to be the best of the Bond film series before they got so carried away with gadgets and world domination themes. John Barry is on top of his game really developing what musically becomes the Bond legacy. And best of all, the album stands well on its own as a listening expereince. When the track "007" begins it's like meeting an old friend. You've heard it before, but it's good to hear again.

Incomparable James Bond Soundtrack.......2005-01-21

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE is a no-nonsense Bond film in the tradition of the Ian Fleming novels. The FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE soundtrack is an example of exceptional film scoring and a very satisfying album drawing on all the elements of the film's score to deliver an experience that musically runs the gamut of rhythm, romance, intrigue and flavorful vignettes of the film's locale that seems to go in tandem with Fleming's literary sense for these elements. John Barry began his "official" scoring duties in tandem with his screen credit on FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE bringing a highly recognizable and definitive substantiating sound to the Bond series that distinguished it with his unique and inimitable musical style. That has been a hallmark, which brings a cohesive quality to the whole series even in Barry's absence. John Barry not only firmly incorporated his prowess as a film composer with this soundtrack but also demonstrated his ability to establish his own unique sound on compositions composed by others. "From Russia With Love" from track 1 and "Bond Meets Tania" from track 6, with a melody composed by Lionel Bart, inimitably have that "Barry Sound" stamped on them. Once again Barry also demonstrated his unique musical handling of "The James Bond Theme" on track 14 with "James Bond With Bongos" while his "007 Theme" heard on tracks 7 and 18 bring a staccato and drive to the force of this James Bond classic. The re-mastering is good eliminating much of the background tape hiss. This recording sounds very good.

The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra needs a guitar player!.......2006-11-09

Granted, they only need it for one composition (the last one, "The James Bond Theme") but still, without the guitar it's just not the same. Barry didn't compose this one so I suppose it was a bonus and I shouldn't complain, really. The rest of the music on all the CDs is fantastic. Some of the stuff I had heard before without realizing who had composed it. Very enjoyable, to say the least.

A Variety Of Classics!.......2005-12-06

John Barry has been composing film scores for over forty years and this is only scratching the surface of his productions. Never mind that the entire set is recorded by the Prague Philharmonic; it's pure to Barry's themes. While John Williams compositions ("Star Wars", etc.) are wild and flamboyant and Jerry Goldsmith's (Hoosier's, etc.) are mood pieces, John Barry crosses over all barriers and is amazingly diverse. Barry has recorded most of the exciting James Bond themes, melodramatic classics like "The Lion In Winter' and moody theme hits like "Midnight Cowboy". He also tugs at the heartstrings with compositions from, "Somewhere In Time", "Frances" and "Out Of Africa". He varies his themes for all types of films and few composers capture it so well.

There is over four hours of music in this set with a colorful and informative booklet.

Incredible Barry Collection.......2004-03-11

Any fan of movies will absolutley love this collection. Being a movie buff I couldn't wait to get this boxed set. Knowing Barry from all the James Bond movies, I did not realize his involvement with so many others. The orchestra is magnificent in all these themes. I'm listening to "High Road to China" right now and I'm drifting in the clouds in a Tiger Moth with Tom Selleck and Bess Armstrong. If you are familiar with a movie it will definitely have you seeing it again, if not the scores are still beautiful. Any fan of classical music will be pleased as well. Travellers will defintitely enjoy it for a long drive. I know from when I use to travel that music like this made the miles float by faster. I highly recommend these four CDs even if you just know a handful of the songs.

If you really like 70's themes, you should like this CD. It was a little too dated for me.

Bond and beyond on an excellent career retrospective........1998-08-25

Imitation is often considered the greatest form of flattery. John Barry's oeuvre has been sampled by dozens of contemporary musical artists, and he is often credited as being the godfather of "trip hop" (check recent albums by Portishead and Mono to hear the Barry influence). The Academy-award winning composer has been producing music for over forty years, but this collection focuses on the artist's most commercially successful period, the 1960's. The instantly recognizable and inimitable Barry style is well documented throughout 23 varied compositions. Selections range from classic to obscure, and include all the title tracks from the early James Bond soundtracks. Barry's film and television music is the defining sound of that era - lush orchestrations, cool jazzy riffs, pure excitement. "Themeology" is an excellent starting point for the novice collector and equally attractive for the long-time admirer.

A great idea, but incomplete.......2000-10-26

Erich Kunzel plays the Bond themes? What a great idea! In addition, there are a few more selections in the same vein, like the cops-n-robbers TV medley, music from The Untouchables, Lethal Weapon, Beverly Hills Cop, etc.

Sometimes, you want to listen to the 007 music in instrumental only, and Kunzel and the Cincinatti Pops do a good job with the arrangements. But where are the rest of the songs? Missing are three of my all-time favorites, You Only Live Twice, Diamonds Are Forever, and Moonraker. I think the album would be better with 'more Bond, less other.' We certainly don't need TWO selections from Dick Tracy. And the theme from Darkman is stylistically quite similar to Dick Tracy; nothing is gained by playing both. Don't get me wrong; I like Danny Elfman (check out his "Beetlejuice" theme on Kunzel's 'Great Fantasy Adventure Album'). I just wanted to hear all my fave Bond pieces on the one CD.

Still, it's a keeper.

The local PBS channel featured Helmut Lotti's "From Russia With Love" for the recent pledge drive. They got my support! And I got this wonderful CD and equally wonderful DVD. Helmut Lotti has a superb voice and he sings these Russian songs with such passion! Remarkably, he does not speak Russian, but learned the lyrics phonetically. Here are some of my favorite folk songs: Polyushko polye, Cherniye ochi, Kalinka. And some popular Russian songs which made it to the American hit parade: Dorogoy dlinnoyu ("Those Were the Days, My Friend") and the English language rendition of "Dream Away" ("A Stranger in Paradise"). Helmut gives a sweet, personal touch to movie themes "From Russia With Love" and "Lara's Theme" and a poignant "Far East of the Sun." These latter are sung in English. The final stanza of "Far East," a song from the Siberian gulag, could bring tears to your eyes! The finale is the Russian National Anthem. This is one of the most beautiful and singable of all anthems. The pleasing music has recently been given new lyrics by its original composer. Helmut sings the updated version accompanied by the Red Army Ensemble. My only criticism of the CD: lyrics should have been provided for nonRussian speakers. But I'm certain a web-search could easily locate lyrics and translations. The DVD features the same wonderful songs, with videos of Russian villagers and Cossacks in traditional costume. Helmut's trip through Russia on the TransSiberia Railroad provides the backdrop to the musical DVD. Through his eyes you see the splendor of this awesome, huge country. I recommend watching the DVD to get a feel for the artist's own appreciation of Russia. You'll feel the love each time you listen to the CD!

Mediocre Tchaikovsky ..........2002-01-25

This Tchaikovsky Recording is a fair one. Perlman has better recordings; namely his performance with the Philadelphia Orchestra. The first movement sounds a bit too rushed and slightly "showman-like" rather than musician like. The Bazzini is slightly scratchy and rushed!! Perlman's pizzacato is also mushed and hard to hear. Listen to Maxim Vengerov's recording of the Bazzini... It's the best I've heard to date.

Great performance; great recording; great occasion.......2001-02-09

This was one of a spate of classical recordings commemorating (or cashing in on) the end of the Cold War. _Bernstein in Berlin_ was one, celebrating the fall of the Berlin wall; a concert featuring Smetana's _Ma Vlast_ on the occasion of the liberation of Czechoslovakia was another. This disc records the first visit of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra to Moscow, in another sign of the communist crackup of the late 80s and early 90s.

Musically, it's sensational. The Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto provides a generous showcase for Mr. Perlman's powers. IMHO it is a bit long, but that's all the more music to enjoy, I suppose. The liner notes contain the very interesting story of how this concerto came about--a famous violinist of Tchaikovsky's day, for whom the work was composed, rejected it for being "unviolinistic"!

The rest of the program features Perlman with a pianist, minus the orchestra. Some pieces, like Wieniawski's "Etudes-Caprices" are really musical bonbons. But reducing the second movement of Tchaikovsky's first string quartet to a single violin and piano is quite a feat. Every musical offering brings down the house; at the end the crowd practically carries him off the stage. The recording is crisp, with a good sense of the hall, with Perlman rightly being given acoustic center stage. A treat!

I am a Perlman Lover and I own both the CD and the video of this concert. This performance contains some of my favorite show-pieces for violin, in particular Tchaikovsky's Concerto in D, Tartini's Devil's Trill, Wieniawski's Caprice in A minor, and Bazzini's Le Ronde des Lutins. The Tchaikovsky and Tartini pieces have been favorites of mine for many years and I grew up listening to them being performed by other virtuoso violinists.

Perlman's mastery of the violin is amazing. I prefer his performances to my long-time favorites. But, while I love his performance of each of the pieces individually, the real power of the CD or video for me is knowing that all of the pieces were all performed in a single concert. Hearing (or seeing) his brilliance in performing piece after piece is awe-inspiring. I am always moved to give him a standing ovation after the Bazzini piece that ends the concert. Recently, I listened to the CD with my eight year old son (who never claps for anything). At the end of the CD, even my son was moved to spontaneous applause.

The first CD of Itzhak Perlman that I bought, was this one, and I couldn't have done better. It's a wonderful CD, w/a breathtaking sound from Perlman's violin. When I first listened it, I comproved how good was him, and and after that CD, I bought other two that were avaible at the store. So, when u want to listen an excelent interpretation of Tchaikovsky's concerto for violin, this is indispensable.

Perlman outstanding.......2000-01-04

I have become a fan of Perlman over the years, and I particularly love the Tchaikovsky concerto, so of course I had to have this one. I bought this disc a few days after hearing Perlman perform this concerto live with the Boston Symphony under Ozawa. This live disc captured perfectly the feeling I had sitting in Symphony Hall hearing this concerto. Perlman was not flawless in concert, neither is he on this disc. But his knowledge and feel for the Russian flavor of the piece is uncanny, and his technique is breathtaking. The orchestra could have been captured a bit better. Perlman's encores on this disc are absolutely unbelievable. If you're buying the Tchaikovsky concerto try Perlman's earlier recording with Philadelphia Orch. under Ormandy, as I think the orchestra is heard much better.

Truly a beautiful rendition of extraordinary talent............2005-02-21

When I first purchased this cd, my original intent was for the soundtrack of Star Trek, which has always been a favorite of mine. I was also motivated by the fact that the orchestra performing is the London Philharmonic, which I consider one of the finest in the world. To this day, this cd stays in my player at bedside. When hearing the news that Mr. Goldsmith had passed away last year, I decided to purchase the 6 cd collection in his memory from Fox. This mans talent was truly a rare and extraordinary gift which he shared with us. I have given this cd as a gift several times because I felt I was giving a wonderful, moving, inspiring rendition of the exquisite talent of this man. If you are not familiar with Mr. Goldsmith, give this cd a chance and I believe you will continue pursuing the mood and music of Jerry Goldsmith, who will be missed for decades to come.

Pure Gold from Maestro Goldsmith.......2004-08-04

Some time ago I reviewed Jerry Goldsmith's outstanding score for "Star Trek Nemesis." At that time I remarked that the tones and secondary themes seemed to be almost a farewell to the Enterpise. It is only fitting that Maestro Goldsmith's musicians gave him standing ovations as they finished recording several cuts for that score. Now, of course, that "farewell" is so poignant. A number of years ago, my wife and I attended a concert with the Maestro conducting the Utah Symphony Orchestra in Salt Lake City. The program was essentially the same as we find on this grand album. We stood and gave Maestro Goldsmith a standing ovation, and a loud "Bravo!" then, and wish we could do it again. This is representative collection of the Maestro's work that is well worth having. A fitting tribute to a genius in his field. Nicely produced and packaged. For those of us who grew up with Goldsmith it is hard to say farewell. Bravo and yeia sou!

Goldsmith's Gold.......2004-03-04

Jerry Goldsmith is one of the greatest film composers of all time. He has written so many great scores on so many different themes that he is kind of taken for granted by his fans and listeners. This CD is an excellent introduction to Goldsmith's music and his immense range in musical themes and styles. Some of my favorites like "Islands in the Stream" and "Medecine Man" are missing but on one CD only so much can be represented. Goldsmith always gives us original themes of great originality and emotive power. His music blends well with the movies and he is one of our best narrative music composers. I'm happy that so much of great film scores like "Boys from Brazil," are included on this CD,when Goldsmith takes the Vienese Waltz of happiness and turns it into a Nazi Waltz of evil with strains of Wagner, Hitler's favorite composer, blended seamlessly into the score. "Patton" could have been better represented as it is easily one of Goldsmith's most recognizable scores and a classic. Whether it is action, love themes, horror, Goldsmith was and is always up to the task to create great film scores, most which stand on their own as any great symphonies of sound. Buy this and explore many of his other great scores and many are classics and out of print and this CD will give listeners a taste of what this grand master film composer can do and is still doing. Grand music on any scale. Highly recommended.

money ill spent.......2002-06-24

Many years ago, Sony and John Williams collaborated on an album of Star Wars favorites. I suspect someone at Telarc thought the same magic would work with Jerry Goldsmith and the LSO. Alas.
While the pieces chosen show a good cross-section of Goldsmith's crativity, the execution is seriously lifeless. It is as if the compositions were left to saute' overnight in Symphony Sauce: the performances are plodding and pedestrian. I don't know who convinced Goldsmith to do it this way, but omitting the martial snare roll at the beginning of the Man from U.N.C.L.E. theme, or not adding at least an accordian to the Waltons theme, are just two examples of how Goldsmith's great work has been emasculated by, I suspect, some record exec's insight. If you want to hear these pieces as originally written and performed, you'll have to start searching on other albums. Good hunting, and let us know what you find.

A good example of Goldsmith's range, but..........2002-05-17

...the quality of many performances are lower than they ought to be, which is astonishing in light of the reputation of the London Symphony Orchestra. This notwithstanding, there's enough to justify getting one's hands on this item. For me, the high point of the album is the medly of television themes composed by Goldsmith, which begins with a hellacious musical argument for the revival of *The Man From U.N.C.L.E.* as a theatrical film. (Hell, if they can resuscitate that bletcherous bore *Mission: Impossible* to make not one but two big-budget buckets of bilge, *The Man from U.N.C.L.E.* ought to attract plenty of attention, particularly if it's done with a sense of humor similar to that which informed the old TV show.)

The other problem with this album is the selection of cuts. For example, almost anything could have been better chosen from the film *Rudy* but the highly sedative passage recapitulated here, and the entirely inadequate dose of the theme from *The Wind and the Lion* incorporated in this album comes at the tail of an 18-minute medly of lesser stuff through which the average fan of *The Wind and the Lion* has no wish to sit. We've heard the theme from the first *Star Trek* movie endlessly; why not a variation on the nasty elegence of the Klingon theme from that and subsequent *Star Trek* films? Goldsmith also wrote other incidental music for *The Man from U.N.C.L.E.* -- so why not a re-visit of "The Man from THRUSH" (or the original program music "THRUSH Raid") and suchlike?

*The Film Music of Jerry Goldsmith* is reasonably good, but by no means the best to be had. It whets the appetite, but doesn't satisfy.

From Russia with Love was a linchpin event for maestro film composer John Barry. After his first Bond score, Dr. No, yielded a stunning main theme but little else of substance, Barry went great guns for Russia, composing a richly stylized soundtrack packed with adventurous melodic lines and taut, inventive arrangements. Though Barry didn't actually write the main Bond theme (that credit goes to old-guard conductor Monty Norman), he takes that familiar tune in some fascinating directions here, applying unorthodox instrumentation and elements of indigenous Russian music. Barry has never been as suspenseful a composer as, say, Bernard Hermann, but he excels with some downright chilly passages on Russia. The score solidified his role as an essential element of the Bond mystique. It also marked the beginning of an intensely prolific period for Barry, a period that would earn him the distinction as one of the 20th century's greatest film composers. John Barry firmly establishes himself in the musical annuls of cinema history with this classic soundtrack. The FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE soundtrack is an example of exceptional film scoring and a very satisfying album drawing on all the elements of the film's score to deliver a product that musically runs the gamut of rhythm, romance, intrigue and flavorful vignettes of the film's locale. FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE is considered to be one of the better Bond films in the series. John Barry began his "official" scoring duties in tandem with his screen credit on FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE bringing a highly recognizable and definitive substantiating sound to the Bond series that distinguished it with his unique and inimitable musical style. That has been a hallmark, which brings a cohesive quality to the whole series even in Barry's absence. John Barry not only firmly incorporated his prowess as a film composer with this soundtrack but also demonstrated his ability to establish his own unique sound on compositions composed by others. The driving "From Russia With Love - main title" from track 1. and the romantically erotic "Bond Meets Tania" from track 6. with a melody composed by Lionel Bart inimitably have that "Barry Sound" stamped on them. Once again Barry also demonstrated his unique and definitive musical handling of "The James Bond Theme" on track 14. with "James Bond With Bongos" while his "007 Theme" heard on tracks 7. and 18. bring a staccato and drive to the force of this James Bond classic. One of my favorite pieces on this CD is Track 13. "Man Overboard - Smersh in Action" which captures both the beauty and suspense ever present in the world of James Bond.

A stunning, well-assembled set.......2003-08-03

The first James Bond film, 1962's "Dr. No," had achieved a nice balance between the plot and Monty Norman's Jamaican-influenced music. However, the soundtrack album itself was more a collection of songs than a traditional movie soundtrack with shifting movements. (And it was bogged down with a couple too many retreads.)

The "From Russia With Love" soundtrack album (1963) gets it right. The themes are shining and original, and even when composer John Barry revisits certain themes, he manages to rework them to make them sound fresh.

"From Russia With Love" was the first Bond movie with Barry as its lead composer (though the theme song itself was penned by Lionel Bart). The brilliant mood-building and no-punches-polled orchestrating style Barry showed when reworking Norman's "James Bond Theme" for "Dr. No" permeates "Russia." Almost every selection is potent, well-arranged and effective, from the opening instrumental melding the title song with the Bond theme, to the final track, "007 Takes the Lektor."

Some of the best tracks on this CD are the vaguely menacing "Tania Meets Klebb;" "James Bond With Bongos" (used as Bond arrives in Istanbul for his mission); and the tense, bombastic "007," which first appears in the middle of the CD and is revised even more punchily as "007 Takes the Lektor."

But the best track is "Stalking," used in the pre-credit sequence during which villain Red Grant stalks Bond on Spectre Island. Using the chord sequence of the Bond theme, "Stalking" builds up to a powerful, brassy climax and then a relaxing resolution.

The quibbles with this album are minor; the track "Leila Dances," which luckily didn't make the movie itself (the music for the belly-dancer sequence in the movie is much more imaginative). "Leila Dances" is so repetitive and unoriginal as to be dull, a rare criticism of a Barry-composed tune. And Matt Monro's warm vocal version of the theme song is marred by a dated 60s sound mix (most of the instruments in one channel and Monro in the other) -- and some tape rewind noise that somehow made the final cut.

But it's hard to find many faults with this impressive album -- one that perfectly mirrors the excitement and daring of Agent 007 himself. In his first stab at scoring a Bond film, Barry came up with a classic that holds up surprisingly well four decades later.

The 2nd movie with some of the best music ever! Matt Munro performs to the title song, and it charted at #20 in the UK charts. The opening music is truly exciting as are many of the other tracks on this CD. The Golden Horn, although not featured in the movie is a stunning piece by itself, as is Girl Trouble.
One of the most popular pieces on this CD is 007. This piece is truly exciting, and has been featured in other James Bond movies such as Moonraker. 18 tracks. A chart-topping hit single. Famous music. It all adds up to a fabulous soundtrack that should be in everyone's home!...

Nice soundtrack from his old spy-era.......2002-10-02

First of all I don't agree with some people that say in Internet 007 themes are ofensive or poorly written. See this CD for example, Matt Monroe may be a bit too romantic for some fans but I still think it sounds quite good.

Now about the original score- that's a must for any person who likes Bond music, cause this is one of the best. Altough there some parts of music missing I won't be involving it in my rating.
It fully recreates one of my fave Bond movs and pure spy-sound. Take for instance tracks like 007 takes the Lektor and Bond With Bongos, and you'll feel like Bond himself, at least I did. Specially Bongos-that sounds so cool, when Bond arrives at the airport!
There are fine variations of the main theme(I love the lyrics, but I must admit John Barry improves them in a instrumental way) in tracks Tania Meets Klebb and Bond meets Tania, the first one is more mysterious.
Other tracks- Meeting at St Sophia (eerie), Girl Trouble(too exciting to be a woman fight music!), Gypsy Camp(nice guitars), Spectre Island(one of the best), Man Overboard/Smersh in Action(creepy SMERSH theme again), Stalking(amazing theme for one of the best pre-title sequence), Death of Kerim(too bad there wasn't more "train" music).

You'll be surprised with some tracks that don't appear in the mov, but don't worry- you'll get used to it, as a kind of pause or relaxing part.
Overall a very good score that true Bondians should have.

P.S: I'm not hoping for some complete rerelease as some guys do. I know there's not 100% music of the film in it, but what we've got is very good. I know there's Bond Back in Action, but those themes don't sound like in the movie.

This is a great soundtrack. FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE is the soundtrack that really begins to show the great music in the James Bond series. All the tracks are good and capture the mood of the movie really well.

Track one, Opening Titles is one of the best music pieces played for the titles in the James Bond movies. It mixes the wonderful instrumental of the From Russia With Love theme with the great James Bond theme.

Some highlights are:
The thrilling "Meeting In St. Sophia" which perfectly captures the mood of the scene inside St. Sophia's. The beautiful "Bond Meets Tania" which is a beautiful version of the From Russia With Love theme played primarily by violins and harps. "James Bond With Bongos", the music played as Kerim Bey's driver drives James Bond to see Kerim Bey, which is a great, upbeat version of the James Bond theme. "Stalking" which is a tense theme played for the pre-credits scene in the movie, and finally "007 Takes The Lektor" which is an exciting and fast-paced song played while 007 takes the Lektor, and which would be played in future Bond films like Thunderball and Moonraker.

The rest of the soundtrack is good, and despite the fact that it is missing music from the Zagreb train scene, it is still an excellent soundtrack. Definitely a must buy for James Bond music fans, or for anyone who likes good movie soundtracks.
