My uncle is a genius.......2005-07-16

Tom Yoder is my uncle and one of the greatest guitar players I have ever seen. From the moment he gave me the first copy of this cd, I was engulfed. Tom is truly a master on the guitar. His first influence was from hearing Mott the Hoople while a kid in McAlisterville, PA. He bought a guitar and never put it down and look where he is now. He also has another cd, The Moment the Apple Falls which is also excellent. The real treat is seeing him play in person. He can take any request of a song and can play perfectly. He is a genius on the guitar and makes me proud to call him my uncle, even though he always sends birthday cards a month late.

Tom Yoder plays with a rare beauty seldom heard. His compositions range from the simple yet elegant to the
breathtakingly intricate. He displays a mastery of his
instrument in a number of styles. Unlike many all acoustic
instrumental guitar albums this one is captivating from start to finish. It is a joy to listen to and will stand the test of time.
Repeated listening is encouraged as there is quite a bit going on. Excellent!!!!

Great songwriting from a master player.......2001-07-05

Tom Yoder is a gifted guitar player. A very small percentage of players can ever hope to achieve his level of technical mastery. Of course, there are many great guitarists who don't write great songs, and ultimately, the song is what matters. With this CD, Tom has proven that he can write beautiful songs. Many of the songs on this CD showcase his chops, and yet are not merely excercises in technique. Michael Hedges had this talent, as does Al Petteway. Tom Yoder has it too, in a big way. Congratulations Tom! And thanks for the great music!

There aren't enough superlatives in the English language to cover the multitude of facets exhibited in the debut cd of this talented artist. Every time I hear it, I hear something new. The production is lush, and the melodies are guaranteed to take you to a better place, quite simply sublime, essential listening. Each song is an aural holiday. To paraphrase Mr. Dickens - "Please, Mr. Yoder, may we have some more?"
