Album Description

Shapeshifting is Storyhill / Chris & Johnny's first CD. Recorded in early 1991, while Chris & Johnny were still in college, it was one of the first self-released CDs in the Upper Midwest music scene. Songs such as "Everything in a VW Van,""Painting," and "Things I Love" highlight this CD's combination of touching and innocent lyrics with a surprising musical sophistication. Shapeshifting was originally recorded in a weekend on a semi-pro 8-track recorder, and retains a homespun sound and charm.
