Editorial Reviews
(Bluegrass Breakdown--WPLN-FM, Nashville)
"It is always a fine thing when one of your projects arrive--particularly such a stellar effort as "An Old-Fashioned Wingding." There are, of course, reasons these grand old melodies are still around--they're really good. And you do a nice job of giving them the honor and stature they deserve by playing them with obvious love, sensitivity and authenticity. I especially enjoyed "Richmond Cotillion," "Chinquapin Pie," "Goodbye Liza Jane," "Spooning in the Parlor" and "Sourwood Mountain"--and your copious, informative notes. This may be my favorite Native Ground recording to date...Congratulations on a work mightily well done...and thanks again for the wonderful music!(Bluegrass Breakdown--WPLN-FM, Nashville, March 22, 2000(submitted by label-contents are from written correspondence by the author, to the label.))
Product Description:
Sample the music you might have heard at a turn-of-the-century party. We'll take you into the parlors of city dwellers and to a rural barn dance. Celebrate the music of America with fourteen timeless instrumentals played on authentic, historical instruments.
