An AWESOME ride.... with music that moves you.......2005-02-06

As a child of the 80's, I grew up with some of the best music in the history of music. I still love the classics, but am drawn more to the ambiance that instrumentals create in my home. I have a complete collection of Enya, Jim Brickman, Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, Manheim Steamroller, and Pure Moods Compilations, and when my husband ran across this CD at a yard sale, he figured it was worth the $2 to gamble on its contents. OH BOY WAS IT! This compilation has become the MOST PRIZED CD in our collection. If we are taking a long trip, the kids (all 6 of them ages 12-20) demand that this CD be in the van with us. The music moves your soul, and is great to cruise to. It crosses the generation gap, as not only my children, but my mom also loves this CD, and so we had to buy her her own copy. When our copy has become so used that we feared it was reaching the end of its lifespan... we had to order a second from a Amazon.ca seller (as its now out of print). If you love new age world music, or music that can feed your soul, this is the CD for you...

First of many Telarc Samplers a winner.......2006-12-30

This initial offering in the TELARC SAMPLER series presents top shelf orchestras and performers. Excerpts of some of the very best 17th through 20th Century classical works are here, as well as an opening and closing track that are quite modern. The disc begins with John Williams conducting his "Superman" movie theme, and it ends curiously with a pop recording: Papa Doo Run Run's unnecessary and inferior remake of Good Vibrations. Points off for this.

TELARC'S audio quality is always impressive, as this mid-80s release so clearly demonstrates. From full orchesta to single instrument, from andante to allegretto, this album simply sounds great! If you like variety in your classical music TELARC SAMPLER 1 was made for you.

This jewel of an album is my pick for the best way to test your sound system. I've had this album in my collection for years and whenever someone talks jive about their system this one goes in. The superman theme demands to be played at 11 and everything is worthy of praise all the way through to good vibrations. I will admit that I have a health sense of nostalgia for this cd, but I recommend this cd as a diamond in the ruff. Sounds great and gets the ladies.

KKSF SAMPLER FOR AIDS RELIEF NUMBER ONE.......2006-09-11

This is an awesome cd, and I guess I truly never realized just how precious it is until you find out its no longer in print.
I have all 16 in their original jewel cases with their original inserts. After seeing that most of them are no longer available for purchase from the radio station, they have become even more precious to me, the music, the station, all classics.
How I found KKSF: I was waiting at the Oakland MacArthur BART station one afternoon, for my Mom to arrive from SF, and I happend to pull up behind a bus with the ad that read "KKSF 103.7 for a difference." Its been just that, since before the first cd came out. Anxiously awaiting sampler 17 and beyond.
