Eleven Eyes delivers a powerful combination of jazz, drum & bass, hip hop, fusion and funk that you can't help but groove to. Their fresh sound makes you crave even more. Great CD. I wore my first copy out and had to buy a second so I could continue to enjoy their mind-blowing style.

Depth Perception sits on my shelf next to Frank Zappa's hot rats. This CD takes a very interesting musical journey through jazz, fusion, funk, hip-hop, jam and indescribable improv. The musicians are all exceptionally talented. Tim McLaughlin (trumpet, flugelhorn, effects); Matt Calkins (tenor and soprano saxophones); Mike Pardew (guitar); Dave Trenkel (bass, keyboards, electronics); Steve Weems (drums, drum programming); and The Turntable Enabler (turntables, sampler, life effects manipulation). Enjoyable the whole way through. I suggest this CD to anyone looking for out-side-of-the-box jazz melodies, tight rhythms and tasteful DJing.

Bradley Ditto's laconic drawl is perfectly suited to delivering the mildly cynical, amused self-parodies or messages - "No Love is Perfect," "She Got Me," "Just a Case of Bein' Lonely" - which stud this mostly light-hearted recording. He is capable of wailin' the lovesick blues - "For Ever It Seems" - or just rockin' the hell out of the joint, just for because ("The Motto Reads"), or getting down on his knees ("Julie Lee"), or getting things all mixed up - "You're the One" followed by "Who's the One" - uh, wait a minute - or just layin' it down for happy sake - "Feelin' a Feelin' Good Feelin'" - or getting' real close to his baby and real sad too, fearin' she's maybe left him - "Last Night" - or just ticklin' those strings an' warblin' along - "Catfish."
In other words, a virtuosic performance, just Bradley and his ole guitar, pretty much - except for that jews' harp and good ole boys' choral yell on the closing cut, "Hey (Wake Up)," having fun with you like a good ole boy will do. (I keep going back to that great line, "You always had such an easy answer," with that lopin' percussion, on "For Ever It Seems," oh boy).
So I dunno if you can drop that folkie loop around ole Brad, I think he'll most likely hop over it, tippin his cowboy hat to ya. The guy he reminds me most of is Jack Williams, Mickey Newbury's old traveling partner. If that suits you fine, a little bit country, truckin' along music, I think you'll like his music. I sure enjoyed it. Thanks, Brad.

Thrash lost classic.......2005-04-03

F.U.C.T.'s Forever Ungratical Corinaric Technikilation is classic album of late 80's/early 90's era thrash. The sound is like a mixture of Animosity era C.O.C. with the heavy guitar of Black Sabbath or Melvins. Great songs with lyrics that dwell around the natural world and a faint spirituality. This is as good or better than anything from the thrash metal or metalcore genre of that era. Sadly, this Nashville band faded into oblivion as its label folded and they could never properly promote this great album. Get this, turn up your stereo real loud and when you hear the opening strains of "infectious world" you'll know what I'm talking about.

beautiful. a word not fitting for many hip hop albums, but the right word for this one. scaringly slept on. elegant cluster structures with the poetic words by Stres. just a record that will be one of your favorite from the beginning, but will even further grow on you. get it now.

Refreshing drop of hope!.......2001-01-05

I first heard the song "Womanism" on the school's radio station Radiate 88 in Miami, and I was taken by the song. So I bought the album and was happy to hear it wasn't like any other album I have ever bought. In the world of commercial, bling-bling lyrics this stood out like a sore thumb! It gave me hope that there are artist out there that still care to do music, not just for profit but for enjoyment. These two talented individuals transcend you to another world with their experimental vibes!
