Product Description
The artists associated with Twin Songs Records - working in various configurations - have recorded and released three different albums (not counting projects with other musicians, for other labels), each revealing a very different aspect of the writers and musicians. So, answering the question that is frequently asked, "What does Twin Songs Records' music sound like?", has been difficult. Finally, we decided that the best response would be to hand the questioner a CD, and say: "This is what we sound like... sometimes."
That is the aim of "Call Out The Changing Tune": an easy way to dip your toe in the water, before making the full plunge. It includes nine songs - three from each of the three albums released so far - making it a sort of blurry snapshot, of a moving target.
In the end, this is not really Naked April, nor the duo of Kent Rytting and Nick Bennett, nor the one-time group of One Week In April. Instead, it is a glimpse of all of the above, on the way from being what they were, through what they are today, to what they will become. Most importantly, the elements that show up in all of their performances and recordings are here: the deeply personal lyrics; the distinctive vocal harmonies; the acoustic guitars at the core, frequently wrapped in instrumental arrangements that blur the lines between folk, pop, and experimental rock.
