Excellent Acappella!.......2006-04-26

This is a great CD. I've never heard of Eclipse before - I found them my searching Amazon for Acappella. I randomly chose this CD and purchased it.

I gave it 4 stars because, although I love it, it's not as good as some of the other contemporary acappella out there (ie. Rockapella, GrooveBarbers, DaVinci's Notebook), but they are very close. If you have worn out all of your Rockapella CDs and are looking for a change, go ahead and grab this CD - you won't be disappointed.

Very Tight!.......2003-04-28

These guy are a very tight group! Their voices blend into an amazingly good sound! I have grown up with and sung Acappella for all my life.. and these guys are great.. My only draw back is some of the perc because I personaly (as a VP myself) do not like the breathy sounds.. its just not my style.. but that only happens alittle! over all very good arangements! very good uses of pan and other effects! I think i could honestly listen to "Heaven's eyes" and "Hard times come again no more" all day long! Some of the most soothing vocals i have heard in a long time! If you like Acappella music.. you will like this album!

This is the type of album that you listen to and love many times over and then hearing it on a high-quality system (one that does the voices and arrangements justice) are blown away by the realization: "This is even better than I thought." Better than their first album ("Once"), which is one of my all-time favorites

The best one yet........2004-07-27

I've been listening to David Roth since 1993. When I met him, I was 11 years old, and I still love his music. I have all of his CDs and they just keep on getting better and better.

The best part about this CD set is that it blends all the greatest elements of folk music. David uses his songs to tell stories (Catherine & Georgia), incite us to activism (Rosa Parks and the Donut song), and tell jokes about himself (New House in Orleans) and others (Hank & Hymie). His other CDs he haven't always included funny songs, but this one has it all--seriousness and funny all rolled into an incredible two disc set.

If you haven't ever listened to David before, you'll really appreciate the heartfelt nature of his music and how his songs tell stories that we all understand. "Think Twice" keeps David on his winning streak for making amazing CDs.

"Twice" more to enjoy.......2004-04-04

David's new 2 disc CD "Think Twice" has far surpassed my expectations. As I had noted in reviewing "Irreconcilable Similarities" (oops,no longer Anonymous): David just keeps getting better and there are no "misses" in these two discs either. Trying to pick favorites out of all 26 songs is difficult, but ones that stand out for me: "What Can I Do" is by far my favorite of all 26 songs, "Someone Standing There" is a very close second, (a song about meeting an idol and developing momentary "foot-in-mouth") (been there... more than once). Having heard "Cape Cod" live a few years ago, the chorus is now permanently lodged in my brain again. (thanks David) "General Contractor", along with New House in Orleans" (I also heard both at that same concert) are dead-on. All the remaining songs are every bit as good. You won't be sorry picking this set up. Three years after buying "Irreconcilable Similarities" I still regularly listen to that CD. "Think Twice" has "twice" more songs to enjoy.

True Sweethearts.......2000-10-16

This CD offers some of Jeanette Macdonald and Nelson Eddy's most beloved songs from their movies. Their natural chemistry is apparent in songs like "Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life" and their individual talents are shown in the solos that they sing. These two legendary performers draw the audience into their songs and each is a special memory of the movie that it came from. Macdonald and Eddy were made to sing together. It is surprising that they were not sweethearts off screen after hearing their voices and seeing their movies. Their passion and tenderness towards each other is something out of a fairy tale. This CD has all the fun, romance, and innocence that was epitomized in their movies. It is a true treasure and a favorite in my music library.

Absolutely the best..........2004-01-27

I wish this band was bigger in the states! This is my all time favorite cd. It's too bad thet here in the states we get too many so-so artists shoved in our face all the time(like Clarksons, Aguileras, Spears and so forth) when this is what the industry should be pushing. Absoultely awesome band. This kind of talent is what pop music used to be about.
