Gwendolyn imagined what kind of music she'd like to hear if she was four again and out came the nutty, irresistibly playful tunes of Gwendolyn and the Good Time Gang!

The Good Time Gang sounds different than most children's music due to Gwendolyn's refreshing anything-goes attitude towards music. This approach allows her to break through the standard nursery rhyme formula, and create a new sound kids respond to immediately. Using her natural ability to do voices, she developed a variety of characters who help sing along. Together, they take their listeners on a silly-willy adventure through music learning and childhood fun. The mood is both nurturing and spontaneous as well as goofy and sweet. Best of all, the songs help children learn more about the world around them. "The Selfish Shellfish," for example, tells a tale of why sharing is important. "Farm Animal Friends" imitates the crazy noises of barnyard critters like roosters, cows, ducks, hens, sheep, pigs and horses. Other songs include lessons in manners, making new friends, and the tune "Scrub, Scrub, Scrub" even makes taking a bath seem like a whooping good time!

Music is an ideal outlet for children and Gwendolyn and the Good Time Gang is a perfect way to entertain children ages 2 through 6 while teaching them valuable skills. We learned about Gwendolyn from hearing her on the Chuck&Buck soundtrack. Fun, Fun, Fun song. Our kids LOVE this CD. Whoever wrote the mean spirited review about wanting to hurl is being harsh. My kids like purple dino's by the way to, and it's all about imaginiation and fun and Gwendolyn is Fun, Fun, Fun. My kids especially love singing along with Farm Animal Friends. It's all silly and fun.

My boyfriend listened to this for days BEFORE he actually played it for his daughter! He just loved it and memorized most of the songs himself. I think it is a bit cutesy, but his 3 year old likes it and it is hard to find CDs for kids that don't also drive adults crazy, so I can't complain. Recommended for car trips!

I found Gwendolyn and the GTG after hearing her contemporary/folk/experimental music on The Music Never Stops with Barry Smollin (Sundays at 8pm, KPFK 90.7 in LA). G&GTG is well written and excellently performed. Listen to her other samples on Dew if you get the chance.

Wow! My 3 and 5 year olds love Gwendolyn and the Gang, as do my husband and I. The songs are great - the voices are fun - the performance quality is excellent. This is a great CD!!!!

This is, by far, one of the greatest albums out right now. That's right...not just in the kids category, but in any genre. This album is a perfect example of where music should be going, great musicians, high energy and plain old American fun! I can't waoit for the next one. By the way, I am an adult writing this, a parent and, oh yeah, my daughter likes it too.
