Drawn in by Walker's catchy folk-pop songs, listeners might feel voyeuristic in this world of loss and heartache.

About the Artist
Born in Los Angeles, Jim performed with several bands before forming the quirky pop group, Lost Anthony, which existed in the late eighties.

Good luck came when Phil Joanou, (director - U2: RATTLE AND HUM, STATE OF GRACE) asked Jim to write a song for his first feature film, Universal Picture’s THREE O’CLOCK HIGH. Jim’s song SOMETHING TO REMEMBER ME BY (produced by legendary session drummer/producer Rick Marotta) was featured throughout the film.

5 out of 5 stars Great Gem of a band.......2007-02-13

Tim and Jim are awesome- I agree with the above reviewer, these guys are deserving of national recognition. They manage to blend a variety of influences, all the while retaining their own voices. "Pelican" is a must-hear in my book!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow!
JVA should be damn proud of this latest CD.

When I describe JVA's music to friends I find it hard to capture. Here is my attempt at a review:

"I am not an art critic but I know what I like" AND I like!

A the risk of getting it wrong and offending I would say this album has eerie Tom Waits-like ambience juxtaposed with graceful melody and driving rhythms. The performances are captured with crystal clarity and the execution is laser precise --- though that suggests rigidity and that isn't what I mean. What I mean is that the play is what you groovy dogs (or is that dawgs? All I know is it seems to be the mot du jour in American Idol) call "tight."

The "enhancement" (i.e. Bradford Johnson's video) is mind blowing.

I do hope JVA gets the recognition they deserve for this and prior work.
