Editorial Reviews Since 1994 Jack has been playing guitar and fiddle with Celtibillies, a four member group that has released two critically acclaimed recordings ("Come Dance and Sing" & "Greenwoodside") of their mixture of Celtic and Appalachian music. The Celtibillies provided music for the soundtrack of "In the Company of Strangers", an independent film shot in Toledo, Ohio in the summer of 2001. Jack tours with New York Times Best Selling author Sharyn McCrumb, performing a program of Sharyn's writings and ballads to promote her Ballad Series novels. Together they have produced "If Ever I Return Pretty Peggy-O", a recording by Jack of Appalachian Ballads from Sharyn's novel by the same name. Jack is also a song writer and tunesmith, and his original compositions include songs based on regional historical events such as the 1912 courthouse massacre in Hillsville, Virginia and the 1946 mining disaster in the Great Valley Mine of McCoy, Virginia. Jack lives in southwest Virginia, in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

His 1993 recording "Dark Run" featured a wide variety of folk and traditional music as well as original compositions.
