About the Artist
Earthpassage was formed by musicians and composers Matthew Lyon and Christine Dickinson in 1995. Our goal from the beginning has been to offer music that "sings of the land"; music that reflects and clarifies the experience of the landscapes that make up our world. Our music is the sum of our experiences, influences, and travels. Rather than try to build a label based around "stars", we are committed to putting the music first, working from a shared vision of a new music that incorporates the best of classical, world folk, contemporary instrumental and ambient influences.
Based in St Ignatius Montana, we are surrounded by the mountains, forests and wilderness areas which provide the backdrop for so much of our music. Instead of playing to styles and trends, our emphasis is on creating music that touches us, that is an expression of the intangible mystery of living on this planet.
Album Description
Quiet Paths is a journey through the forest. Celtic harp and piano are joined by cello, alto recorder, Irish flute, guitar, and keyboards to weave a gentle tapestry of sound that conjures the mystery and beauty of the northern forests.

This CD will remove your stress..........2002-08-29
If you've had a stressful, busy day like most of us do every day -- put this CD on when you get home and the stress will melt out of you! This is peaceful but passionate music. It is what I listen to at work to reduce stress, on the way home and then at home as well! The music is gentle and soothing without being overwhelming and without putting you to sleep! Even people I've given this CD to who don't normally listen to "new age" music... love it! You can't go wrong with this CD!
Quiet Paths - Journey Through the Forest.......2001-01-13
For those who have been on the quiet paths in the forest, this CD takes you there again and again. For those who have walked the forests of Montana and Canada and wondered at the solitude and magnificence of it all, the music takes you home to the places, the people, the quiet paths that have registered so deeply within. The music captures the essence, the feel, the quiet sounds of being on the paths, seeing the light in the trees, the moon in the north woods, and hearing the poetry of the pines and the language of the trees; as the CD song titles say. For those who haven't walked the paths, or seen the places, this music takes you there in a very gentle and stirring, but peaceful way. To know this music is to know the paths and feel the places, a wonderful musical journey. Christine Dickinson and Matthew Lyon are among those rare artists like Philip Aaberg and George Winston who feel the music in very special places and at very special times, and who capture it and play it in very special ways. Theirs is the kind music of which the land and nature speaks, played for all of Creation. It is easy to imagine that even the birds and the animals of the forest listen to the music of Quiet Paths as they, too, Journey Through the Forest. This CD is wonderful music for all ages and for all times. Especially for those seeking quiet paths.
