Long known for clever lyrics and unusual arrangements, this band has come of age.

"....is a 14-cut tongue-in-cheek treat. Diverse....with Vic's very fine vocals in the front."

Album Description
On this, their 3rd CD, Snipe Hunt continue their on-going quest to follow the musical rabbit holes wherever they may lead, using a full pallet of musical colors as a framework for lyrics that shine the light of truth on various insidious nude emperors. From the Matthew Sweet-ish lead track, "Super Fine," to the acid jazz of "Just Keep Your Eyes on the Ball" with its comparison of Puritan Ashcroft's misdirection campaign to carnival midway hucksterism, to the banjo-reggae "The King of Paperclips" confessional of a petty tyrant, to the Spanish hip hop of "Afilado A Pedacitos" (which translates to "Sharpened to Bits"), to the bluegrass of the title track, Snipe Hunt follow their musical whims in matching their new millenium protest music to a diverse set of sounds.

4 out of 5 stars Catch That Snipe.......2002-11-28

This is a very good cd, though not easily classified by genre. Excellent instrumentation, biting lyrics, and solid vocals. Love the title track and it's message. Also love, "Super Fine," which reminds me of the old Chambers Brothers song "Time Has Come Today," the mocking "King of Paperclips," and the ballad-like "Girl From An OK Town." One negative, need to dump those background "singers" a.k.a. "The Hipwaders" who thankfully appear on only one song.
