About the Artist
A highly accomplished acoustic guitarist whose style includes unusual chords and finger-picking, Nicolette Aubourg’s guitar parts are an integral part of her songwriting and vocals, often providing key elements of the vocal melodies or delivery. English literature is her main source of lyrical inspiration, resulting in intelligent, poetic lyrics ranging from introspective to socially aware.

Aubourg's début CD, entitled "Grand View Drive" and named after a street in Los Angeles, consists of 11 original songs, and features Aubourg on acoustic guitar, lead vocals and harmonies. "Grand View Drive" was co-produced by renowned engineer Steve Holroyd, and includes instrumentation from some of Los Angeles’ finest session musicians such as Stefanie Fife (cello), Charlie Bisharat (violin) and Adam Chester (piano).

Aubourg studied classical guitar, piano, vocal performance and music theory, and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and English. In addition to her musical career, Aubourg is an artist, and several of her paintings are featured in her début CD liner notes. Her goals are to contribute meaningful art to the world, and to help improve the welfare of animals, people and the environment.

5 out of 5 stars Love Defined.......2006-05-29

after hearing these songs I realized Nicolette is one of the few people in this world that knows the true definition of the word
LOVE.

5 out of 5 stars Canyon diva entrances.......2003-11-25

This is the best work achieved to date by this excellent artist. Songs both hauntingly limpid yet at the same time, direct and forceful plus a level of muscianship not often attained by such a relatively young talent.
'Big up' for the production too. Crisp and incisive with particularly good tonal dynamics.
This talented lady has produced a tour de force. Flawless.

I am a care giver in Pasadena, California, USA. My sister gave me this CD recently when we had a quiet moment together. Now, whenever I come home from a really hard day, I make the house dark, light candles, slip into the bath with a glass of Merlot, and listen to these beautiful beautiful songs as sung by Nicolette Aubourg, as sung by one who has loved well, and often, and deeply.

5 out of 5 stars Agreed! Lovely music, lovely artist, lovely album........2002-12-12

My trainer gave me this album as a birthday gift earlier this year, and I keep telling her how wonderful it is. Thank you, thank you, thank you. She (my trainer) said that Nicolette Aubourg has a hauntingly beautiful voice, and I agree, but to me it is about the songs. They are so right on. I get them. This is the album that was written for me. I love it and highly recommend it to everyone. Nicolette, you go girl!

5 out of 5 stars The best new album I have heard all year!.......2002-11-23

Nicolette Aubourg's Grand View Drive is an outstanding album. Her songs are haunting, well crafted and memorable. She is also a brilliant guitar player, performer and singer. This is the type of album that does not come along very often!! I love it!!
