23 year-old singer/songwriter/guitarist Emily Kurn is a young, poetic woman with an ancient soul. Her profound thoughts and lyrics defy her tender years. She has seemingly lived many lives, collecting wisdom, insight, and a few scars along the way. Her songs are conversational in style, reminding one of Joni Mitchell, but her original stamp is clearly marked on all 8 tracks of this impressive work. With 'The Doorman', Kurn testifies about the harsh, cynical times she lives in. She, however, clothes her evidence in beautiful guitar work, compelling vocals, and a hard fought optimism. 'The Doorman' features some of the Bay Area's finest musicians including Nina Gerber on lead guitar.

Leslie Hall hails from Iowa and travels the country spreading the message of Gem Love. With a glue gun and a Bedazzler she creates her own magical universe and invites everyone in to be a part of it. This CD is hilarious AND Mega-Danceable. She is like a comet blazing across the universe. If you get a chance to catch her live, by all means, TAKE IT! She truly must be seen to be believed. She is Magical!

This CD is really fantastic. Not only does it have a bit of comedy to it, but the songs are actually incredibly catchy and all, ALL of them are danceable. It is hard to do that on any album. She truly is glamorous...SHAZAM!

Scott Dorman's CD "Love Is Gonna Find You" is one album that is as strong at the finish as it is at the start. The songs are written with great style and clarity ranging from rocking country to gentle ballad. "Conversations With The Moon" and "Gulf Breeze Girl" are ballads that would fit well on radio station.This CD could be enjoyed by both country and non-country fans alike.His live show is a must see if he performs in your area.

I have seen Scott in person and have the CD, Love is Gonna Find You and both are impressive. He has a interesting mixture of "soft-country" and ballad type songs. It's unusual when you enjoy most of the songs on a CD by a new artist, but this is definitely one where you do. Well worth the money!

Love Is Gonna Find You is a must find.......2000-01-08

This CD reveals one of country's new rising stars. The music is a contagious mix of upbeat toe tappers and sweet ballads. The songs are the type that will stick in your mind and you'll find yourself humming them all day long. In my opinion, Garth Brooks doesn't have a thing on Scott Doorman. My favorite of the tracks is "Then There Was You". The lyrics tell a story of how love can reach out and grab you. If you want an album that's fun to listen to, and sure to become a classic, buy Love Is Gonna Find You.

Talented songwriter, fun songs.......2002-09-11

I had the opportunity to see Emily perform live at a coffeehouse in Haight/Ashbury recently. She was playing with a local and talented banjo player, Jordan Klein. They were awesome! It was a real treat to hear lyrics that are so poetic and natural, clever and catchy. Emily's voice is fantastic and unique. The performance reminded me of Ani DiFranco since Emily's lyrics are just as good, Emily's voice is strong, and seeing a male banjo player with powerful woman just keeps Ani in mind. Highly recommended.

Emily Kurn is one of my favorite contemporary new singer song-writers. The Doorman is an absolutely beautiful CD that has music for every mood. It is impossibe not to sing along with Emily Kurns incredible voice, and to listen to the CD over and over again. Definetly 5 stars. Everyone should buy this CD!
