It's a 50 Cent world, and we're just living in it. Lloyd Banks's solo debut is one in an upcoming series of G Unit-affiliated releases coming to a hood near you. With his understated raspy flows and gift for penning clever punch lines, Banks has long been considered the crew's nicest lyricist. He might also be the most braggadocious. On choice cut "Warrior," the narcissism begins: "I'm smooth as the Isleys, sometimes I surprise me." Then there's the self-explanatory "I'm So Fly," produced by Timbaland, and "If You So Gangsta," where he informs his fellow hood dwellers why they can't compete with the "rap Lebron." As with all G Unit productions, the beats are first-rate. Remarkable backing tracks supplied by underrated producers Hi-Tek and Baby Grand ("I Get High," "Die One Day") act as a much needed counterweight to Banks's clichéd thug-guns-girls-jewelry banter. A better reason to cop this album is to hear Banks's introspective take on the flipside of thug living. R&B-tinged ballad "Karma" demos his ability to serenade the hotties in more, um, gentlemanly fashion. When he raps "if it wasn't for 50, I probably wouldn't be around," he might be right. But the rap world's no worse off with this capable debut in our midst. --Dalton Higgins

What?!?!.......2007-05-15
Whoa! Definitely shocked from the reviews I saw on here. So much so, that I decided to write my own. Some of these fools had the nerve to not even mention "Work Magic" as a classic track. Aside from the other bangers, "Work Magic" WHAT?!?! Come on people, listen to that again. Mind blowing, just shows you who is writing this feedback. Honestly, before this album I barely listened to Lloyd Banks, because I thought he was another punch line rapper and I can't deal with that for an extended period of time. But the album "Hunger for More" proved me wrong. Anyway, this is a hood classic, maybe not a mainstream hit, but the streets loved it.
this cd is dope.......2007-03-11
well its a really good cd and ill tell you a funny thing the first time i heard this cd i had no idea who this guy was or nothing cause i was in cali when i found it outside in the driveway and i went inside and listened to it then i got back and found out who it was and liked him ever since
I don't know..........2006-08-09
I got this CD when it first came out and no matter how many times I listen to it, I just can't get into it. Nothing about Banks' style really grabs me. His rhymes are pretty basic, he sounds like he's half asleep when he raps (not much energy at all) and he doesn't bring anything new to the hip-hop industry. Money, cars, jewlery, girls. Been there, done that. Too bad, because the guy has potential Hopefully, his next album will be better. I won't buy it though; I'll just download it.
The reason I gave this 2 stars is because there are some decent tracks, like...
On Fire
Karma
Warrior
Warrior Part 2
If You So Gangsta
FIRE.......2006-08-05
Lloyd Banks is classic. This album is a 4...TIL THE END was the hottest track in hip hop in 2004, also 2005. Can't wait til Rotten Apple when Lloyd Banks rips The Game. I heard theres a piggy bank on Rotten Apple going after Game. The man is a lyricist the hardest rapper in the Unit. Reminds me of Yukmouth with the flow. Eastcoast rapper with a Westcoast rhyme style.
Not Bad, But Nowhere Near "Get Rich".......2006-07-28
I bought Hungry For More during the G-Unit hype and I have to say that this is a good album. The best tracks on the album are both Warriors and a great story in Til The End.The beats are great as we would expect from anything G-Unit. If Lloyd Banks can improve on his next album is could beon par with "Get Rich."
Lyrics:4/5
Banks is the best lyricist of G-Unit(The Current G-Unit excluding The Game).
Beats:3/5
Sha Money XL is a good producer.

the freshest cuts from DJ Whoo Kid and "The Boy Wonder." With the
"Billion Dollar Budget" Curtis ignoring the big-faces to flood the streets
with G-Unit mixtape narcotic, the fans win out. With Banks' sophomore

Satisfies the "hunger".......2007-07-16
It seems like today everybody either loves or hates G-Unit. Even though pretty much every casual and intense rap fan loved 50 Cent's debut Get Rich Or Die Tryin, a backlash would follow over the next few years from rap fans once 50 and his crew took over the hip hop airwaves with their gangsta rap and grimy production. This has really occurred with every multi-platinum selling hip hop crew, so I don't find it surprising. I neither love nor hate G-Unit. A lot of the music they've been putting out recently is extremely disappointing, but the first round of albums was great, and between 2003 and 2004 I happily purchased the group's solos. And even if you absolutely loathe G-Unit, you'd have to admit that their first round of solos was far better than the garbage that plagues hip hop radio today.
While Lloyd Banks certainly isn't the most charismatic or appealing of the G-Unit rappers, I'd say he was actually the most talented. He raps in a raspy monotone that can range from a laidback flow to an fast and angry one, but it makes him instantly recognizable. Banks is first and foremost a punchline rapper, and he makes clever one-liners and threats throughout his debut's 14 tracks. But he also proves to be a good vocabularist and lyricist, telling stories about struggles of urban life and working nicely on collaborations. The production of this album is very nice, with a very appealing sound. A lot of "The Hunger For More" picks up right where Get Rich Or Die Tryin left off, and the nice production is certainly one example. The grimy, dark beats often show a flash of funk or deep bass perfect for a club track. The songs are all an appropriate length and don't run too long. This album was anchored by a quintet of excellent singles, which ensured great album sales. These singles were all extremely well produced, and the rest of the album lives up to these singles. "The Hunger For More" is a very solid debut album that I recommend to fans of these singles. The bonus disc includes some videos and group tracks that might be nice to have but aren't necessary.
The album opens with a real banger, the thumping Tony Yayo collaboration "Ain't No Click." In between a great hook, the two rappers trade of vicious verses representing their crew and hometown. "Playboy" is a solid track built around a repeating horn fanfare. The single "Warrior" is an excellent anthem with a catchy, funky beat. This song is very well produced, the hook and bridge work really well and this song is quite memorable. Next comes the biggest hit from this album, the inescapable club track "On Fire." While I admit this song was a little overplayed, this is another nice production that Banks performs well on. 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg collaborate on the low-key "I Get High," not one of the more memorable songs here. Another single, "I'm So Fly," is a great song, with a nice beat and clever verses with a good hook. "Work Magic" with Young Buck has a familiar feel and doesn't stand out. "If You So Gangsta" is okay, followed by "Warrior Pt. 2," which is every bit as good as the original. This one has a much rougher edge to it, and it features Eminem, 50 Cent, and Nate Dogg. I also really like the popular single "Karma," a heartfelt love song with a nice R&B-styled hook and fitting beat. The lyrical highlight is "When the Chips are Down," a rough collaboration. The Game's verse is excellent, and Banks is great too. The street-level production is perfect for this song. Following the good "Til the End" comes the dramatic "Die One Day," another highlight. The album closes with "South Side Story," a solid finish.
This album isn't revolutionary or jaw-dropping by any means, but it's a very complete, effective, and well-produced debut from a definite talent. I think that more so than later G-Unit releases, this and the other earliest albums maintain a nice balance of mainstream sensibility and a rough edge. I definitely recommend Lloyd Banks' debut.
Classic Hip Hop Album.......2007-01-26
Very Rare Special Edition CD...also one of the best Hip Hop albums recorded...
The Hunger for More makes u hungry for more.......2006-04-15
Lloyd Bank$ is one of my favorite rap artist maybe even tied with 50. His rymes and his style are one of a kind and priceless. This is great album. There are so many good songs on this cd i dunno where to start. Aint No Click f/ Yayo is a great upbeat starting song to get things kicked off into high gear. The Singles on this album were incredible. His first one was "On Fire" w/ 50 cent. That was a club join for sure, and never gets old. I'm So Fly is another single that is one of the greatest rap songs of all time, by a solo artist. His song titled Smile was off the G-Unit album, it deserved to be on this album as well. I can't believe how good this cat is just by himself let alone in G-unit. The song Warrior pt. 2 is nothing like the 1st one but it is another Great song feat. Nate Dogg, 50 Cent, and Eminem, and if im not mistaken in this song everybody is spittin a verse about Bank$. I can go on and on all day about the great songs on here like I Get High feat. Snoop & 50. The Game was first intrduced on this album (other than the mixtapes) in the song When The Chips Are Down. The song is pretty good but when i heard Game i just knew he was gonna be a force to reckon with. This is a great album and you should definately have this in your collection. One of the best features about this album is that if u have the collectors edition (as shown), I heard Bank$ talking about it and he said that the phamplet inside is made of "money paper", which is pretty cool along with the rest of the case. The DVD is short but entertaining. I hope that he makes another solo album. Overall I give this album 5 bricketts and a standing ovation.
The best artist out right now.......2005-12-02
First of all, Lloyd Banks is one of the best artists' out right now. He is Mix Tape Champion, his albumn has sold over 5 million, and he is one of the nicest at layin down punchlines. In order for you to appreciate this cd, you have to understand the hip hop world. This is NOT just another main-stream cd, it's blend of what Banks has been doing in the mix tape world for years. If you don't keep up with the mix tape world then this cd will be hard to understand. This cd is one of the hottest in recent years because of the lyrics, the hooks, and the versatility. Banks is one of the few artists today that can flow about money in one song, women the next song, and life in the hood on the next song-all while maintaining a true and real flow to each song. This cd is a very, very, small piece of Lloyd Banks' work. In order to appreciate Banks and what he brings to the game, you HAVE to listen to him on the mixtapes. This cd is fire if you know how to listen to it.
Lloyd Banks - The Hunger for More.......2005-10-26
After 50 Cent took the rap game in his grasp by releasing his first major label debut album, "Get Rich or Die Tryin'," next came his group, G-Unit. Consisting of 50, Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, and Young Buck. Their album, "Beg for Mercy" blew up big time selling over 3 million copies and got the rest of the rappers names out to the mainstream audience. So next in line was for Lloyd Banks to drop his first solo album titled, "The Hunger for More." It was released in June of 2004.

Lloyd Banks definitely drops the heat on this album. His hooks are great and his lyrics and punchlines are clever as hell. There were a couple weak tracks on here but none that were straight up wack. Check this out if your a fan of G-Unit or mainstream hip hop. I'll be looking forward to his next release for sure.

Customer Reviews:

One of the best albums in recent years.......2005-06-12
Very impressive, exceptional production and Banks backs it up with classic lyrics. Banks has a very unique style and ultra-clever punchlines. His super smooth and "cooler than the other side of the pillow" style are a nice relief from most of the crap G-Unit puts out. He is by far the best one in the group and should be held with the greats (only if would leave G-Unit, keep his mouth shut a little more and release another great album) other than that, he's golden.
I'd give it a 5 but..........2005-04-26
I thought this was a very good cd. The only reason I give four instead of a five is because I thought the cd was to edited. I'd say there were about 10 "beeps" in each song.
Otherwise, I thought this was a good cd. If you like 50 Cent, I'd get this-Lloyd Banks is kinda like him.
egomaniac.......2005-03-17
if you heard hot 97 when 50 said lloyd banks is lyrical, banks was telling himself "I'm a Beast" "I'm a Beast". Please, have any of you brainless teenagers heard KRS-One Spit?? have you heard Nas Spit?? and you call Lloyd Banks a beast??? who wants to look up to a gay guy who talks about himself and him getting money and doing hoes and being better than you. whatever happen to speaking for the people?? and whats 50 Cent's comeback after someone disses him about that? "O i sold more records" "O i have more money than you" HE SOUNDS LIKE NELLY!!!! remember nelly's verse on nellyville "I'm tired of hearing whats real hip hop, but there album flops!" you see i rank 50 Cent right next to Nelly. i used to have love for 50 cent when he was hard and didnt make love songs, but now.....Candy SHOP!!!!???? Disco Inferno?????????? GARBAGE!!!!
