Be Warned.......2005-07-16
This is the most painfull listen I have ever experienced. I want anyone who may be thinking about buying this CD to know that the Korean Horn sample is played repeatedly for the entire duration of the track. This music reminds me of how I feel when my thought process is at it worst.
one of the best albums ever.......2005-06-21
I would put this in my top 10 (maybe my top 5?) albums of all time. Certainly, my favorite Otomo Yoshihide album. For half the album, you just hear this wailing flute-ish middle-eastern sounding sample that pulses between the two speakers. You fall into a trance. Then, at the halfway mark, all these instruments come in and it's like nothing you've ever heard. I once heard a story that I'm pretty sure is wrong:
After this performance the band decided to break up because they thought they could never play anything as good as that again.
This is probably not true, but you'd think it was from the music.
This is the first of his albums I've listened to, but still my favorite. If you like Miles Electric, NoWave/Noise, freejazz, I.D.M., experimental or other odd music, YOU WILL LIke this.
Ornette Coleman and Lightning Bolt got married, and this was their child.

Full Stop.......2005-02-01
Can't think of a more sustained period of tension in any piece of music than the opening "duck call" samples. You know the storm's coming. There's the odd thunder-crack of turntable wreckage as the air thickens and thickens. Heaven and hell break loose. Staggering stuff.
Feels like drinking lava and mercury for 40 minutes. Through a straw.
Amazing.......2004-01-27
I would agree with the other reviewer that this is simply one of the greatest pieces of music ever. A review can really not justly describe the strange yet awe-inspiring piece of music that is Consume Red. Even if you do not usually delve into experimental music, this will convert you into the wonderful musical world of Otomo Yoshihide and others.
WOW........1998-06-17
The best album of the year, of the decade, of ever. The sample of Korean horn player Kim Suk Chul is awe-inspiring, and Ground Zero constucts an epic-length piece around this ear-shattering sound.

Brutal Death metal.......2006-11-23
Consume the Forsaken: Disgorges most popular album, although, I wouldn't recommend it as a first buy. The songwriting is intelligent, technical, and never fails to meet outstanding brutality. The guitar riffs being the most dynamic; play two or three main themes consisting of palm-muted chord progressions, which expand into interludes and development sections consisting of faster played scales, which are often broken down by pitch harmonics. While the instrumental riffs have tight and complicated formatting, the overall layout of each track lacks consistency, characteristic of story-telling music writing. The drums rarely letting up on speed, are in a constant state of hyper rhythmic blast beats, which often change in tempo and are always in perfect unison with the guitar riffs. The speed of this album like the vocals is characteristic of brutal death metal; mostly in the gravity range with some what slower themes and the occasional slow riff.

Guttural machine.......2006-07-26
First of all, forensick was an album by the mex disgorge not usa which i prefer usa disgorge the mex one sucks... Anyways, consume the forsaken is brutal and the drumms are truly fast! Highly recommended.
I miss the old disgorge..........2006-05-17
Sadly disgorge dont sound like "consume the forsaken" no more or forensick or she lay gutted etc... Their latest album parallels was pretty awfull. I still got love for the god haters disgorge doe!
Damn, this is brutality !.......2005-04-08
Man these guys are an example of deathmetal with talent and the best kind of vocals i've ever heard and its so original...Not one bit dissapointing and the best thing about disgorge is the fact that they keep their music sirious and realy dark. If you already havent? Buy disgorge's "consume the forsaken" its worth your purchase.
Brutal and Sick!!!!.......2005-03-09
Ultra Gutteral Death/Grind from these behemoths of brutality!!! These guys are the musical equivalent of a jack hammer pounding on your skull. Yes that good!!!! Dominating deep voice in the foreground, a nearly all-time-blasting drumkit and tons of riffs in every song. Anti-Christiand and Gory lyrics are the subject matter, and consistent moshing and headbanging. The band is currently working on their Crash Music debut entitled "Parallels of Infinite Torture" which will be released in early 2005. I can't wait for that one!!! Extremely talented band here. Definately for fans of Dying Fetus and Suffocation. A must have for Death/Grindheads.

Instrumental are a British sextet of hip, classically trained string musicians who have recorded with electronica acts like the Orb and jammed onstage with junglist crews. On Acoustek they serve up "classical" remixes of well-known techno standards--a potentially cheesy project that is more than redeemed by the group's playful intelligence and gutsy feel for the music. Briskly performed and well-crafted arrangements of tunes like Orbital's "Forever," the Orb's "Little Fluffy Clouds" and Moby's "Hymn" do more than just highlight the interwoven patterns and haunting melodies that techno often slips behind its pounding beats; they also expose the debt this music owes to the phasing pulses of minimalists like Steve Reich, Terry Riley, and Philip Glass. Though Instrumental relies too much on plucked double bass to carry the beat, they often do an inspired job of translating dance rhythms into the more languid language of strings. --Erik Davis
Customer Reviews:
Haunting, Beautiful, and Rich sounds.......2002-03-22
This work is a fantastic collection of electronica performed in the style of a string sextet. Where most attempts at this would fail, Acoustek plays with so much emotion, one can't help but keep listening for what is next. For anyone with a liking towards progressive or exploratory musical forms. Five Stars! No - Six actually!

Acoustic Electronica.......2000-11-04
This is one of the best cd's I've heard in a long time. The concept is great: arrange classic electronic music songs for a string sextet. It is amazing to hear the great textures and interpretations this group can give to songs from orbital, the orb, moby, and brian eno. Their version of Little Fluffy Clouds is amazing, as is Forever. I would recommend this cd to anyone who is even mildly interested in techno.

Customer Reviews:
bungee into antiproduct.......2000-09-24
it will be quite an eclective dive, i assure you. this album is an unbelievable mixture of sushi, cinnamon, and who-knows-what-all. i say this because it made me think. upon listening i felt random stimulations all throughtout my brain...it was working overtime with inspiration. it really made me want to create some music of my own.
psychedelic girlfriend and bungee jumping people die are fine specimens. the former is a bit rock-y yet subdued to the point of easy listening. the latter scared me. granted it was almost midnight when i heard it first, but it employs a very haunting intro that repreats conveniently throughout the whole of the song. under other exciting vocals, of course.
the experience of listening to antiproduct was very uplifting. it's a sort of spacey cosmic swirl feeling. care to try it yourself? you ought to at least consider it.
absolutely spectacular, for lack of a better word!
