Customer Reviews:
Strange..........2000-10-22
Ok...I never thought I would see Rammstein, Type O Negative, and Carcass together, and I think all the bands are so different the CD just doesnt quite work.
What the hell?.......2000-08-23
Why is Carcass on here? If you've heard this album and hated the Carcass song on it, check out one of Carcass' newer albums, "Heartwork". It's TOTALLY different. You wouldn't even know its the same band, it has a different style, different people, different everything, and its a damn good CD, better than half the other bands on this CD. Even if you hated the Carcass tune on here, you still have to listen to "Heartwork".
Not Exactly Aggro..........2000-07-24
I look at aggro music as a style of music that bands like Pantera, Helmet, and Biohazard use, and I really don't think it describes this current rap metal trend. But that is what this CD winds up being. There are far too many rappish bands and not enough actual aggro.
The mixing of these songs is great, perfectly mastered, wonderful in actuality, for a compilation. Whoever put these bands together and called it "aggro" is a bonehead. How do the Bloodhound Gang show up? Come on. Production could be better.
The songs are some of the best from each of the good bands. Helmet's "Exactly What You Wanted" is a classic aggro song, from the start to finish. Rammstein is a band I have just been getting into, and their crushing international hit single "Du Hast" is one of 1998's best. Elsewhere, Fear Factory's "Zero Signal" is a great, classic Fear Factory song. "Oasis" is probably my favorite Puya song, as is "Loco" with Coal Chamber. Other tracks I like on here include "Guilty" by Gravity Kills, "One Thing" by Nothingface, and "Liar" by Rollins Band.
The actual rating of this CD would be higher, but bad outings by Bloodhound Gang, Type O Negative, and Carcass bring it down. There aren't many real aggro bands on here, except for Rollins Band, Helmet, and Rammstein, while the rest are mostly industrial. Overall decent, but I've seen this done before with The Matrix Soundtrack and The Hard and The Heavy Compilation. Still pretty decent. Also check out the soundtracks for Heavy Metal 2000 and Strangeland.
Great songs, But haven't we seen these before?.......2000-04-13
All great songs, but these ALL have been released, not adding much value to your cd collection. I've seen this done before as well with the Matrix Soundtrack. But if you are new to metal, this is the cd to buy.
OFF DA HOOK!.......2000-03-27
All you phreaks gotta get this record! This disc is the bomb for 2000 beyond. Phat grooves, kick azz tracks. Off da hook!
