Album Description
Musically the album is uplifting, less folksy than the preceding year's Thunder and Consolation. 'Eleven Years' is an elevating stab at a love song, complete with semi-flamenco guitar flourishes. 'Before I Get Old' is an ode to the quest for personal fulfillment and ambition of almost archetypal proportions. The human heart in the album is emotional and strong, yet the recurrent New Model Army bitterness is there to add flavor to the concoction. Even the song of nominal redemption and forgiveness, 'Bury the Hatchet' is completed with a barely audible 'Last Laugh' following the supposed laying down of the vendetta. The remastered re-issued album (1990) includes a bonus CD featuring associated B-sides, bonus tracks, non LP singles, and Live tracks. EMI. 2005.

I'm a big fan a NMA since I picked up Vengeance. If you are familiar with the band you can't go wrong with getting this album. I also recommend Justin Sullivan's "Tales of the Road".
If you are not familiar with the band but enjoy punkish music with less screaming, try Vengeance to start out with.
If you enjoy something a little dark but with a more melodic ear and some great violin work and great vocals I'd start out with "Thunder and Consolation"

While not attaining the perfection of THUNDER AND CONSOLATION (what could?), there is nothing on this album that isn't delivered as if Justin Sullivan's life depended on it. The songs themselves are flawless; "Innocence" and "Vanity" alone are worth the price. The only flaw here is "Get Me Out", and that's only because the live version on ...& NOBODY ELSE is astounding to the point that the original presented here just doesn't compare.

Similar in tone to melodic punk acts like he Men They Couldn't Hang, Green Day or late clash, the band mixed the lyrical sophistication of folk with the angry energy of punk. The band was also the inspiration for the like-minded Levelers. Known for their unrelenting sonic attack and their strident politics, NMA are also masters of the acoustic ballad. This album is one of the strongest, a superb follow up to the excellent THUNDER AND CONSOLATION. The album roars out of the gate with the excellent, angry `Get Me Out' and closes with the equally fine `Vanity'. Also notable are `Whirlwind', `Purity' and the thoughtful acoustic `Bury The Hatchet'. The album is an excellent addition to any collection, although if you're unfamiliar, any NMA album will delight.

GOOD DEATH METAL!!!.......2006-04-13
This is another great release from Fleshcrawl, these guys really know how to get the job done and deliver some of the best death metal. If you are able to find a copy of this cd being that it is out of print you'll really enjoy it. I highly recommend this cd if you are a fan of Fleshcrawl or are into death metal.
