Malpractice, the fifth installment of the Funk Doc saga, builds upon Redman's earlier madness and takes it a step further. He sums it up in "Lick a Shot": "I'm a MC/ I don't think/ Like you rap superstars'll think." Meaning: yeah, he's got a formula, but it's uniquely his own. Whether you'll dig it this time around is the question, and the answer comes down to personal taste. Do you like lyrically intricate songs? Do you like smoking hot beats (compliments of the Green Eyed Bandit himself, Erick Sermon)? Are you into extreme misogyny and violence? How's your tolerance for songs about trying to get into nightclubs? All of this can be found in Malpractice. The album is creative, often clever, and filled with violent, nightmarish imagery. Even the insert artwork is unsettling. This won't be an issue to diehard Redman fans who've eagerly awaited this long-delayed release. When all is said and done, this album is worth listening to, if only to catch up with Reggie Noble's funniest alter ego, Soopaman Lova--this time he's searching for his MIA mojo. --Rebecca Levine

How do you see an album like this one coming? What Thee Album, Dare Iz A Darkside, Muddy Waters and Doc's Da Name 2000 were all great albums. So why does this stink. 1. He sounds uninspired on here. 2. He has too many of his local homies who all (except for Icarus and Jamal) suck. The Good: Aside from the commercial tracks like Let's Get Dirty and Smash Sumthin(which are good) he has only three others which are standouts. Diggy Doc is a good opener. Real N****z(featuring Scarface, Mally G, Icarus and Treach) is one of the best songs on here minus Treach's weak verse. Scarface, Mally G and Icarus stole the show on that one. Enjoy Da Ride is the best track on here with Method Man, Saukrates& Streetlife contributing some solid verses on the track right along with Redman. The skits are pretty humorous also(the Jerry Swinger being the funniest out of them all). The Bad: Songs like Lick A Shot, Uh-Huh and Muh F**** are as dull as it gets. And dont get me started on Bricks Two feautring all his garbage homies(D-Don sounds like a New Jersey version of D12's Bizarre) who stink up the track worser than it had to be. The Ugly: Songs llke Whut I'ma Do Now, DoggzII, J.U.M.P., Da Bull****(Icarus was alright on here but its still a suspect track) and the ultrawack Soopaman Luva(parts I&2) should have been Shaquille O'Neal slam dunked into the studio trash can. Dat B****(featuring Missy who adds nothing to the track) is the dumbest track that Redman has ever made period! Bottom Line: Redman should be sued for Malpractice(literally). The beats stunk, Redman sounded bored on most tracks and the guest appearances were weak. To put it bluntly: the skits were better than the album itself. For all of you who are disappointed with this album dont fret. Red Gone Wild is a lot better and destroys the bitter taste this album left in your mouth!

Reggie "Redman" Noble's fifth album "Malpractice" to me is a solid album compared to his recent albums. People say that this is his worst that he has dropped in his career, and I have to agree. To me, this album doesn't hit as hard as his first three, but it is still an album worth hearing. I believe that people thought that the concept of this album has gotten a little old to them. He is still halarious behind the mic, and that is why we like him so much.

To me, there are a lot of lackluster tracks here. "Diggy Doc" and "Lick A Shot" doesn't sound appealing to me. But the next few tracks "Lets Get Dirty" and the team up on "Real ******" with Scarface, Trech, Icarus and Jamal sound hot as well. Some other tracks that I find unappealing are "Muh-*****" and the dry sounding "Dat *****" with Missy Eliott and Jewell.

There are some hot tracks on here that are on here. Aside from the few that I named, "Enjoy The Ride" with Method Man, Streetlife, and Saukrates to me is probably the best track on here. "Bricks II" is another hot one as Redman lets Roz, Double O, D-Don, and Shooga Bear take control of the song and he shows up at the end. Another one that I thought was nice as was the funkadellic track "J.U.M.P." with George Clinton.

Also, most of Redman's albums are known for humorous skits. They are funny on this album, but then after a while, they loose their replay value. A few of them are rehased from the "Muddy Waters" album.

If you like Redman, don't hesitate to buy this album. It's worth owning. It is just not as appealing as his first three, but it is still hot. Redman can still keep a flow and can be funny, but there are many dry parts that flow throughout this album.

MALPRACTICE IS THE FIRST REDMAN ALBUM I ACTUALLY COPPED AND I'VE ALWAYS BEEN A FAN BEFORE HIS STUFF WIT MEF, I'VE LIKED HIM JUST ALWAYS SEEM NEVER TO BUY HIS ALBUMS BEFORE I DUNNO WHY THOU? BUT WHAT I DO LIKE IS THE FUNNY COMEDIC ATTITUDE HE KEEPS ON ALL HIS MUSIC NOT TOO SERIOUS BUT DEFINATELY TOO WILD FOR COMEDY CENTRAL EXCEPT DAVE CHAPPELLE LOL ANY WAYS THIS LP IS LONG BUT IT IS PRETTY FUNNY AND GREAT BEATS & RHYMES EVEN THE GUEST ARTIST SHINE HELLA SICK ON HERE TOO.

I really enjoyed this album,Redman delivered a solid album but why 4 stars?It was too long and there were too many skits,also the song Dat B**ch was extremley weak and production and lyric terms so if that and all the skits except the rollercoaster ones were cut off it would've been a great album but too many stopped this album getting 5 stars which it might've if these were all cut off.Also you cant expect everyone to sit there for 80 minutes to listen to the whole album but standout tracks were:

so my advice is if you're a Redman fan buy this but if you havent heard any of his albums buy Whut Thee or Blackout with Method Man first then this because mainly the Redman fans will enjoy this

Redman is just one of the artists that you seem to be interested in but can't seem to truly get into. I want to like Funk Doc, but after a few songs all the appeal that was once held has been quickly lost in a maze of skits, half-skits and the most off the wall lyrics that you have ever heard. Whether it's the weed or Funk Doc's personality his song always seem to start off so well, but in the end one finds themselves at loss for what they just listen to.

Red is a great at the weed driven, psychobabble that is a part of almost every song, while not being a detraction per se, it certainly gets old. For myself after a few song of listening to almost any Red album I find my self skipping more and more songs till there are none left and I am moving on to the next CD. For some reason his style, lyrics tempt me into listening to him but then I just leave feeling unfulfilled. Still I keep coming back like a crack habit to has records, it's not because the good, but there not bad. Reds records seem to epitomize mediocrity, there good stuff, bad stuff and ok stuff, but never, damn that was tight. This album fits that mold perfectly.

I am not sure that Red is ever gonna become that blow up the spot star that some other artists have the potential for and it seems that he is perfectly willing to accept this. For me I never get the feeling that "wow, Red, gave it his all, and damn man" it is more like "yea that was a good song, so what's up next?" He seems ok with what he is putting out and isn't too worried about the quality of his albums, he seems to just want to have fun when he putting his stuff down. The sad part is if he turn things all the way up and applied himself he could become so much better.

While he might be a poster child for an underachiever there isn't anything wrong with what he is putting out. Malpractice is one

of those albums that I will enjoy for a while, think it is a good album, but gradually it will just tail off into obscurity. There are some good songs on this album, but nothing that I couldn't do without Here is what you get with this album.

That's a hell of a lot of skits, to many BAD songs between those OK songs. It's not like that I dislike this album, but there isn't anything here that I am gonna write home about.

I like "Smash Sumthin'", has that big movie feel that isn't heard too much in Redman's music and it is a nice change of pace from the usual raw Funk Doc that is every other song on the album. This song just seems to be the most polished song on the album. Their are some other quality songs, "Let's Get Dirty", "Enjoy The Ride", and "Doggz II". Most of these songs and the other good songs on the album are quality because of the 'guest appearances' by the likes of Meth, DMX and George Clinton. The DMX might only be a sample of him but it makes the song. Red is always better when he doesn't need to carry the whole song by himself. Blackout was proof of the quality stuff that he could put out when he stepped up to the next level.

      When I first saw the cover of this LP back in 1975, it was an advertisement in CREEM magazine. The ripples of what this band did not only helped launch the entire PUNK movement, but remains almost an excusive British product. Wilko Johnson's start (actually this is the 2ND LP, after the MONO DOWN AT THE JETTY) as a world class guitarist is cemented here in various songs that echo his hero, Mick Green of the PIRATES. Even lead singer Lee B. adds killer slide. And who could ask for a better bass/drum combo to back you? So...I bought this LP and fell in love. Now I own most of the reissued CDs and they all sound great. Many parties I have had included slapping on this CD and always had the effect of folks asking Who Is This? Should be in every serious rawk collection...

      Had this album back in 75 or 76. Absoultely LOVE IT ! Was difficult to find but SO thrilled to finally own it again. Rock and Roll as it was meant to be!! Great party music with tongue in cheek lyrics!!! Thanks again sweety where ever you are!!! ;-)
