Now this is really some crazy extreme stuff. I saw this for a while at Chop records in Bern and waited for a while before buying it. The record sleeve had the look of a real classic and a classic it is in many ways. The name first of all...Lisa Carver has made some other stuff that I probably should look up. Plus she has a great website.

Crazy, campy, and fun.......2005-02-23

Imagine the girls everyone talked about in high school getting together with a tape recorder and letting those hormones do their thing. "Drugs Are Nice" is an angry, funny, spoken word/musical masterpiece. I ordered the record from Lisa back in 1990, and was so impressed that last year I licensed the rights to reissue it on CD AGAIN, so if Amazon runs out, contact me. I have about 900 copies in my bedroom, with new photo artwork (same liner notes as Tec Tones reissue). I also maintain the Suckdog website at www.nutmusic.com/suckdog/ and am working with Lisa to release a DVD this summer/early fall of her exploits from 1988-1998 to coincide with the release of her autobiography.

This is my favorite CD that i possess. It is nuts and has little in the way of form, musicality, or anything else you generally expect from a CD.
its a raw as hell rambling journal from a bunch of people completely freaked out on drugs.

little house in the big woods........2003-01-28

this album was compiled from tapes recorded 1988-1989 primarily in lisa carver's mom's house in dover new hampshire. it is a triumph of american pioneer spirit and i love this album dearly. a handcrafted, homemade representation of a lost arts and crafts movement run predominantly by adolescents in rural and suburban areas with little or no access to means of production not available at wal-mart. i was an early and fervent supporter of lisa suckdog, playing my vinyl copy of rape gg to less than enthusiastic classmates at high volumes. it is difficult to imagine that kids today would have any use for something like this, what with 24-7 personalized internet sites and computer-based home recording and distribution having allowed anyone anywhere to put out anything, but at the time it was the frontier, an ill-tempered jigsaw piece of a much larger story regarding what life was actually lived like on an everyday basis utterly without representation in then-dominant media outlets. also it has songs about dragons and flying cats! what's not to love?

I can't even believe you are looking at this page now! If you searched for this CD, you know exactly what to expect. I just went the rating system went lower than 1 star. Lisa's okay, but why is this on CD now? Suckdog's best offering to the universe is giving untalented punk hopefuls a false sense of confidence in thinking "if someone bought this junk, they are sure to buy my junk!" ...
