      Midway Still Were a supreme band in their time. I must have seen them 4 or 5 times. Their power on stage was awesome, the drummer in particular was a power house that in my mind has never been rivalled. (how often do you get stoaked on a drummer ?). If you want a good blistering summer rock album. The sort to fall in and out of love too. Bathe in your glories, wallow in your failures. This is perfectly understated. Best lietenned too with a beer as the summer sun goes down.
      To really appreciate it check out their first album!

        Product Description

        After turning his back on a career in music 25 years ago, singer-songwriter Dan Kwas returns stronger and wiser on his Americana debut, "A Life Too Long Forgotten." Kwas fronted The Sidewalks, a Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based power pop band in the early 1980s, whose independently released single "Natalie" was a high-request tune on local college radio in the summer of 1981. Despite moderate success, Kwas grew despondent over the failure to attract a larger audience and threw in the towel at the age of 25, leaving Milwaukee and music behind. It would be nearly 10 years before Kwas picked up a guitar again, and another five before he attempted to write another song. He spent six years in New Jersey, four in Ohio and four more back in New Jersey before returning to Milwaukee in 1997. Along the way, he began a career as a newspaper editor, fell in love, got married and became a father. Over time and much soul searching, Kwas realized that music was an integral part of his being that could not be ignored. He dusted off his guitar and slowly started writing songs again. But it was not until 2005, after the death of his father, that Kwas decided the songs he had been carrying around in his head deserved to be recorded for posterity sake. He bought a used digital recorder and a single microphone and began laying down the tracks that would eventually become "A Life Too Long Forgotten." Kwas, who cites Bob Dylan and John Fogerty as early influences and Steve Earle and Rodney Crowell as latter-day ones, wrote all 13 songs on the album and performs each part himself. The 13 powerful and poignant songs on "A Life Too Long Forgotten" are filled with longing, hope and determination, and are a testament to a man who refuses to let a lifetime of living get the best of him.

        I love this man's voice, it is simply the purest and most lyrical I have heard from his generation of singers. I just can't get enough of the songs, they are moving and sometimes quite funny in a very touching way. More please!

        Purcell fans will delight in this collection of 30 of his 85 secular songs. Barbara Bonney, singing with ease and controlled fervor, steals the recording with her endearing sound and impeccable musicianship. Soprano Susan Gritton brings a more dramatic perspective, singing with zest and a little edge that almost, but never quite, grates. Sometimes, however, she vibrates mildly out of control. Tenors Charles Daniels and Roger Covey-Crump sing with grace, joviality, and tenderness, but both are a little shallow throughout the bottom. Countertenor James Bowman occasionally stumbles with intonation, but always lands standing upright. This buffet of various voices captivates the listener's attention span, totally avoiding potential monotony. --Barbara Eisner Bayer

        Alas, with the help of phenomenally expressive singers on this CD, Purcell has stolen my heart. I listened to this CD a few times then immediately emptied my pocketbook to the nearest consort putting on a Purcell concert. Such poverty is love.
