This double live cd is a useful review on the music FLA had done up to that time (1996) and overall is a good live cd. FLA have a very powerful live, they control live electronics with utter perfection, and if you like Leeb's voice at the studio, you'll like it live. The cd contains songs from 'Disorder', 'Caustic Grip', 'Tactical neural Implant', 'Millenium', 'Hard Wired' and 'Plasticity'. I really miss some song from 'Gashed Senses & Crossfire' (maybe 'Shutdown', 'Digital Tension Dementia' or 'Big Money') The majority of the songs are very well chosen and perfectly performed: 'Bio-Mechanic', 'Resist', 'Surface patterns', 'Gun', 'Mindphaser', these are maybe the best. But I have some complaints, things which could have made a better album out of this. First, some songs are not good enough: 'Vigilante' & 'Overkill' are neither representative nor good enough to be in this cd, in my opinion. And at the same time, there're wondeful songs such as 'Infra Red Combat', 'Iceolate', 'Threshold' or 'This faith' which are absent, and that's a pity really. Secondly, I think that some songs, although being very good, are not performed brilliantly: I refer basically to 'Circuitry' and 'Plasticity'. 'Body Count' is an unexpected song but as it's one of the first FLA hits it's nice to see it here.

I got this boxed set a while ago, and to my suprise it was the best Front Line Assembly album I've ever heard, although I'm kinda partial to live albums. Bill Leeb (front man of FLA) sings his heart out at this show and the cool thing about this set is that there's a neat pewter FLA pin and a awesome video which has concert footage and music videos for some great Front Line songs. I think that this set is a definate must have for anyone who likes FLA!

An amazing live album.......2005-06-10

When I bought this album I was expecting it to be something along the lines of KMFDM's or Nine Inch Nail's Live albums, where much of the industrial/robotic side disappears and your left with more raw and human side of their music. I was almost hoping for this, because hearing FLA's music its hard to imagine that actual human beings composed it... well lets just say this album doesn't particularily help.

The vocals are just as haunting as always, the drums sounding like thuds from hell, the guitars like the chainsaw of a psychopath bursting through a wall(i actually jumped when they come in on song 2 or 3, forget which).. sorry for the analogies but thats basically what I thought. While the songs seem slower and less layered, I could imagine FLA being an amazingly powerful band to see live.

And you get 110 minutes of it!!!

i didn't know you could wear out a cd until i bought this. but it's true. there are layers of sound that are no longer audible on the copy that i bought almost three years ago. some of the most brilliant work i've ever heard. they don't miss a beat on this one. buy it. take it home. sit in your room all alone. turn out the lights and just listen. it will take you to another place.

Showcasing sound & not the songs..........2000-08-14

F.L.A. could come out with an amazing live cd if they would have showcased many of the bands signature songs here instead of a hybrid mix of some of the more obscure songs and rational off of the newest releases (Melinium and Hard Wired) Sadly shutting out some of the best work from the band. One of my biggest gripes was the huge electro club hit THE BLADE was sadly left behind and did not appear on the cd or in the bands live showcase though its almost always a staple of the live performances. This cd does have some wonderful moments though showing through great walls of sounds and textures that does show the bands ability to be able to play live but it often comes out in bieng more ambient and almost on the lines of a Meat Beat Manifesto release then F.L.A. The highlights are by far hearing an almost 12 minute version of a very intense Millennium and actually hearing them shred on Mindphaser makes the cd alone worth buying but I would only recomend this after you get to hear some of the studio work, In particular the Implode,Hard Wired or Mellinium releases.I wouldnt say its a bad cd but it doesnt showcase the bands songs as much as the sound...

A great live cd!.......2000-06-10

This is a great live CD from a great industrial band. Most of the songs are from Hard Wired and Millenium and a few early classics are thrown in. A must buy for every FLA fans!

The Best of the Best!!.......2001-08-22

First off, this is absolutely my favorite band ever! They are best live, so I always recommend this CD to novice/prospective fans. You get a feel for their musical diversity and high energy. Some of the canned recordings are just a little flat (a true fan hears around that) - so starting with the Live Wired CD will give you a better idea of what these guys are really about!

World's best bar band cuts it live.......2002-07-15

I lived in Colorado for about 11 years, from '84 to '95, and I must have seen this band perform 10 times. They were always fabulous. We're talking guitar-based rock and roll with a tasty horn section, impeccable timing and lots of solos. This live album is basically a greatest hits selection, if you happen to be one of their fans. the only reason I didn't give this a "five" is that Randy Barker, a stunning guitarist, had left the band before this album was recorded. Although the guitar players who succeeded him were no slouches, I think Barker was beyond compare. To hear him at his best, buy what I think is the band's finest album, "When You're Cool."

There is not a big market for this kind of music. But this band is steamy, funky, hard driving and sweaty blues/funk/rock. Try the soundclips. Try the cd.Better yet, catch the band live.
