    She Said's self titled debut is a combination of masterful pop/rock melodies and harmonies married to incisive and sometimes disturbing lyrics. With a host of influences that encompass Crowded House, Squeeze and the Beatles, among others, She Said's trio indelibly etches haunting stories chronicling our life and times. These songs are about people and sitations and emotions we have all come in contact with, directly or indirectly, the good, bad and those somewhere in between. She Said creates an odd balance of naked truth, playfulness, sardonic humour and confrontation. Their challenging lyrics are always anchored to strong melodies and characterized by exceptional staying power and a sweeping appeal, original unforgettable songs.

    This album is a wonderful find. She Said's self-title debut is all about major, MAJOR songwriting talent. The songs are intelligent, sad, and haunting. The melodies are great, with awesome chord changes and thoughtful lyrics. I haven't heard a lot of pop bands whose music I would describe as touching, but She Said's album is just that. From the devastating "For the Love of Lisa" (a song about domestic abuse) to the frustration of "American Dream", every song in here is pure melancholic pop heaven. Like the heading for this review says, just buy it!

    "Sinking" & "Don't you lie" are my favs. I also liked the acoustic guitar stuff alot. Puts you in a thinking mood. "For the love of Lisa" is cool, but who's lisa. "She Said" sometimes sounds like Shawn Mullens, and I like him.
