Not Bad But A Weak Attempt.......2007-02-11
I love Depeche Mode. I have for quite a long time, and they can put out some awesome remixes. Sadly, many of their best remixes are not here.
I do hope DM intends to put out another box set like this and includes some of the remixes they left off (read: all of the remixes they left off). Disc 1 and 2 are all right, but the choice of remixes leaves MUCH to be desired. Some are standards, some are flat out crap. The bonus disc, #3, fairs a bit better. The alt "People are People" remix by Sherwood is a total waste. Better left on the cutting room floor.
Seriously, DM needs another set of remixes. This box set doesn't do them justice and will leave most fans flaccid.
One Star out of Five.
Great music.......2007-01-10
This was another Christmas gift to my friend who loves Depeche Mode. All of these remixes are fantastic. I highly recommend this to any fan of this group.

Loved it!!.......2007-01-11
I've been a huge fan since the 80's and this CD puts a new spin on all their great hits. "Enjoy the Silence" is one of my favorites and although I never tire of the original version, the remix is awesome. I'd recommend adding this one to your collection...
Enjoyable for those who like DM in all their manifestations.......2005-01-28
I agree - if you don't like electronica or dance, you will probably hate this CD (I have not heard the entire 3-CD set, just the 1 CD version). But, if you hate that type of music, I would be surprised by the fact that you liked DM. I thoroughly enjoyed this CD, even more than I thought I would. I have a mixed tolerance for remixes so I was not sure I would like the CD. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the range that I heard on the CD (even if it was all electronic). I was espcially blown away by "Halo" and "Enjoy the Silence." Like another reviewer, I agree that "Barrel of a Gun" is positively hideous but that song serves as the exception not the rule for this CD. "Route 66" and "Just Can't Get Enough" are wonderful throw backs to the originals. Unlike one reviewer who felt that these remixes were simply extended versions of the originals, I would disagree in several places ("In Your Room" is a fantastic example of a completely reworked song.) I too would like to have seen something after Ultra on this album but I suppose that is simply more incentive to buy the larger CD compilation.
Depeche Mode Remixes 1.......2005-01-25
This is a one disc set of a slimmed down version of the three-disc remix set which is available for a lot more money.
It is difficult to remix Depeche Mode when they have such great songs to begin with. So I find it hard to add anything new to the originals to make them seem better.
Some of the beats are okay and some remixes work better than others. The list price is way too much for what you get.
Overall though, you'd be much better starting with the individual albums themselves.
Get the originals instead.......2004-12-31
The members of Depeche Mode know what they're doing. Most, if not all, of their songs are perfectly produced and it's difficult to improve on them (that means you, Marilyn Manson.) There are some really good remixes on the 3 CDs. These are the mixes that don't put in stuff just because they can - they're clean and simple but add another level to the song (the Air remix to "Home" and "World in My Eyes (Mode To Joy)" are the two best.) Most of the mixes, however, are just the same remixes that I wouldn't even listen to in a club - they're overworked and tired. Skip the remixes and get the originals.
What the?.......2004-12-30
Some peeps might not like this album because it contains "remixes" wich are more Electro or Dance than the original one.
Thats a reason why some of you people dont like it,Because you arent an adult,Maybe you are a teenager like me.
Girls who go to the clubs like this kind of music for goin' out arround there and dance with their guys.
It's not totally for just listening arround,It's more for like having it on a club.
This CD is great,It tries to revive ssome of the old songs DM has made so far. These remixes might be kind of Electro or Dance but this new version of Enjoy The Silence that was made by Linkin Park is more rock wich I love it and I hear it all the time. But it would of been nicer if DM Makes again these songs with a better sound,I mean,Revive them theirselfs not asking help to other guys to remix it.It just keeps being the old thing but with a new sound.Wich i think that stuff from 2004 dont go with stuff from the 80s or close to the 90s.So thats what I think. But it would of been nicer if Depeche Mode itself revives these songs singing them again and giving it another sound,Or just remixing themselfs. Depeche Mode is a very good band,If a band like Linkin Park can remix songs,Why not DM? DM has more experience and would come up with excellent remixes.

Album Description
Depeche Mode have always been at the vanguard of remix culture since its inception, and the history of the band is inextricably linked with the history of the remix. Having worked with some of the pivotal figures in remixing early on in their career it is only fitting that an album should arrive chronicling this relationship.

Pick and Choose..........2006-09-11
With SO many different artists putting their spin on the music it's certainly an extreme variety. If you're expecting a certain line of sound or you're chained to what you believe DM "should" sound like, this may not be what you're looking for. I gave the set a 4 for the obvious free rein to explore remix possibilities that you will either love or, maybe, hate. It will come down to personal taste in the end. Although I found some tracks that really rocked, I found myself disappointed with some tracks that just seemed to drag on sometimes just like listening to repetetive noise or somthing that might put you to sleep. HOWEVER with that being said there are some very pleasant goodies. In Your Room has an unlikely heavy base beat that was very surprising and will rock your stereo system. Personal Jesus, Rush, Master and Servant, Never Let Me Down Again, I Feel Loved just some of the high lights. Not what DM fans are always used to but certainly worth a listen to find out for yourself.

Customer Reviews:
A lot of techno stuff here.......2007-02-14
This is probably not for your casual fan but for the fan who really wants to go on an electronic adventure this is a very nice set.
It's really interesting to check out the evolution of remixes as it pertains to one band. For the earlier songs you get mostly extended version of songs but as time moves forward you see the remixes getting more and more advanced. Certain songs become completely new entities. I don't claim to love every remix but I do love the concept.
Check it out if you like remixes and Depeche Mode.
Great mixes.. but some technical difficulties.......2006-08-18
I enjoyed the mixes, but I too had problems (mainly skipping) with a couple of songs on disc 2.
Toally Violated!.......2006-04-05
When you truly love a singer, or a band, it is a real treat to hear them remix their original work. This album is more than a treat----it's WOW. When first listening to the lead song on the disk "Never Let Me Down Again," I was disappointed at first because the first half of the remix version is exactly the same as the original. However, the song does fade out differently from the original, but then the WOW comes. All I can say is I got this big smile on my face and I felt my eyes welling with tears. Sounds a bit sappy eh? Can't help it...it's true. This remix is the finest to date that I have heard from my favorite band---DM. I felt totally Violated after listening!
One thing however, I purchased this disk a few months ago, and it is a 2-disk set. One disk is music (not as many as this collection) and the other disk had interviews with the band and other goodies. I am sad to see this disk has a few more songs that I like, but I would not give up the disk of interviews, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Great stuff but Faulty CD.......2006-04-03
I am long time fan of DM hence the purchase of this collection.
Whilst CD 2 and 3 was great, I could not listen to CD1 as it would not play past song 2. Not sure if it some sort of copy protection or CD is just faulty.
Hope you have a better experience than this.
If you're a Depeche Mode fan you should have this already........2005-10-01
If you love club or electronic music then you should have it as well. All these remixes are excellent. There are old ones from singles they released in the past years and there are new remixes on here as well. One of my favorite remixes on this set is the Goldfrapp Remix of Halo. Awesome remix! You can also hear Allison Goldfrapp's vocals in the mix as well. Another great remix on this collection is Clean (Colder Version). It's absolutely amazing what they have done to this song. Of course the Timo Maas Remix of Enjoy The Silence is excellent. The only complaint I have about this collection is they left off the 16B remix of Enjoy The Silence as it isn't on the CD Single either and the one track I was soooo looking forward to finally owning has been left off too. That track is Freelove remixed by Deep Dish. Why hasn't that been released yet??? Because of that I give the collection only a 4. Anyway, this is still a great collection and worth owning. Make sure you get the limited edtion 3 CD set so that you get that extra CD of music.
