The Iway 600C from Lowrance is an easy-to-use GPS system that's with you every turn of the way so you arrive quickly at your destination. In addition to precision NAVTEQ road mapping with voice and visual navigation, this system offers detailed satellite imagery of select metropolitan cities and marine mapping/navigation. It also provides access to 5.5 million points of interest, an audio player with built-in FM modulator, a picture viewer, and a crystal clear, 16-bit, five-inch, color TFT touch-screen display with 640 x 480 pixel resolution. The sleek, blue LED backlit keypad also ensures superb readability even in bright sunlight. The Iway 600C delivers accurate and reliable GPS navigation, thanks to a built-in precision 12-parallel channel WAAS-enabled receiver. User-friendly, this system boasts simplified operation with five primary keys and the option to update maps through the internal USB port with Windows XP/ME/2000, Macintosh OS X, or Linux. When you need to pinpoint your location, take advantage of the high-detail, "bird's eye view" satellite imagery (with street overlays) of hundreds of select metropolitan areas in the United States and Canada-- display highways, buildings, stadiums, streets, and adjacent waterways. For added convenience, you can even choose from three mapping displays: 2-D Track Up, 2-D North Up, and Elevated 3-D. When you're ready to go, the Iway 600C is right there with you, ready to offer turn-by-turn audio and visual cues, including auto-zooming and automatic recalculation of directions after a missed turn. You can also take advantage of the memory storage of up to 1,000 addresses, and choose or avoid toll roads or interstates. You can even program your route to avoid all left-hand turns. And when it comes to safety concerns, the Iway 600C won't let you down: the Safety Passenger mode allows a passenger to use the GPS features while the car is in motion so the driver can pay attention to the road while still receiving expert navigation advice. One of the most unique features of the Iway 600C is its Marine mode, which offers access to over 3,000 enhanced United States lake maps showing depth contours for island waters, and high-detail NauticPath charts for the Great Lakes and coastal U.S. waters with navaids, port services, tide and current data, and more. I now have the Lowrance iWay 600C. Completely waterproof, can be used in a boat, or other wet, dusty, dirty or harsh environment. Heavy duty, industrial quality, shock resistant, great for 4x4ing in our 4Runners! 30Gig internal hard drive. Very fine, quality made unit. Has a 640x480 resolution screen! 640x480 VGA!! Gorgeous screen, 5 inches diagonal. Displays satellite photographic images of earth with map overlays, as well as inland and coastal waterways with depth contours. Once you have satellite imaging, with overlaid mapping, there is no going back! Also displays on-map topography (nice for offroad travels in our 4Runners). Display is configurable, just drag and drop what you want, where you want. Plays MP3s, same as all the rest (with huge 5Gig of space for MP3s). Also displays photos, if you want, which look very nice on the 640x480 VGA screen.
