Tripp Lite's 10ft HDMI - HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) cable allows interconnection between digital display devices, such as DTV's (Digital Television), Plasma displays, LCD TV's, and projectors, to Digital source devices, such as Digital Set-Top boxes, DVD/DVD-R players, and AV receivers. HDMI assures that the best video signal is always sent from source (HDTV signal, DVD Player... .) to the display (Projection Television or Plasma). It does this by allowing uncompressed video and multi-channel audio data to be input to the display device through one single cable. The need for multiple analog connections for high-resolution audio and video are eliminated. Without a HDMI connection, one would need 3 video connections for high definition video and 6 audio connections for high-resolution audio. An HDMI connection allows input at high rates of speed, up to 5 Gbps. This leaves a lot of spare capacity for future applications; for example, a current uncompressed HD movie "only" requires 2.2 Gbps for both video and multi-channel audio.

This is the second time that I bought the P568-010 Tripp Lite cable. I could not be happier with the picture that it delivers on my Panaconic Plasma Monitor. The cables are being used daily on two different inputs of my system. Both are super! Try this Cable... you'll love it(especially for the price)!

I ordered this "Tripp Lite" 10 ft HDMI to HDMI Gold Digital Video Cable part number P568-010 from Amazon. I quickly got a confirmation email stating that my order for a "Tripp Lite 10 ft HDMI to HDMI Gold Digital Video Cable part number P568-010" had shipped from Abacus 24-7. The package arrived at my house only three days later. So far so good. Unfortunately what I received was NOT a Tripp Lite cable nor part number P568-010. It is a generic cable manufactured by PTC which sells for about 50% (or more) less on any number of websites, although it took a little investigative work to figure all that out. The first tip off was that the packaging was just a generic clear bag with a part number on it (HH-28F-10). The second tip off was that the cable had no markings on it other than some temperature specs and the letters HDMI on the plugs. A simple Google search on "HH-28F-10" shows that this is a "PTC 10ft Premium Gold Series HDMI cable". This does not appear to be an accidental switch. Is it as good as the advertised Tripp Lite product? I don't know. I couldn't find much of any info on the product (or on PTC). I was attracted to the Tripp Lite product because it is supposed to be a shielded cable and I trust Tripp Lite's reputation. The Amazon price seemed just a little bit too low to be true. It was. I wonder how many of the positive reviewers lauding the low price of this product actually got a Tripp Lite cable?

It leaves a straight black line across the top of my LCD, you can def see it, but fo less than 15 it is a deal cause HDMI is better.
