Pleased as punch!.......2007-02-16

After a bit of research I decided to increase my budget a bit to get an LCD w/HD. I'm so glad I did. Toshiba didn't disappoint-- the picture is brilliant and the sound is terrific. The unit is great looking and has totally changed the feel of my bedroom. It arrived in perfect condition and I am thoroughly enjoying it so far. This is a great value on a great unit.

Using the 20HLV86 as my new computer monitor connected to my laptop. Can watch a dvd while doing email and other idiot work. And it's big and bright for those detailed Excel spreads. Buying from Amazon made it cheaper than any other location I could find.

As one reviewer noted: slow on the draw changing channels. But, if that's not a problem for you, this unit delivers all the needed features one could ask for: transmission/reception compatibility, interconnectibility and reliability in a not unattractive and well-priced package. Would buy again.

Great Bedroom HDTV.......2007-02-11

I would give a high recommendation for this TV. It is the perfect size for a bedroom especially if you're not looking to overwhelm the room but you just want something to watch a late night movie, the morning or evening news, or the late shows in high def. DVD player works great and really completes the package as it seems not to increase the size of the TV at all. The picture is outstanding and isn't that what really matters in the end??!! The only little annoying thing concerns what would have been a great feature but has a big limitation - the TV has an auto-on feature so that you can use it like an alarm clock but it requires that you select a channel on which to tune the TV once it goes on. It you are use the HDMI as I am to get signal from your cable box, you must have the TV input mode set to HDMI but you can't set the auto-on to the HDMI input (it must be a channel number). The engineers just didn't think that one through all the way. Oh well, still a great TV!

I bought this TV to use in my bedroom. I don't have a cable box and certainly no HD in my bedroom, so I was a little wary of buying an HDTV for the bedroom. But I wanted a flat panel and a DVD combo, so there actually aren't a lot of non-HD choices. Plus, maybe I'll upgrade my bedroom technology someday. I was very pleased to see the picture is very good for analog on an HDTV. The menus are very intuitive, and the DVDs look great. Can't complain one bit. I would definitely recommend this TV...great picture, great price.
