After reading reviews on basically every FM transmitter I settled on this item. I am 4 1/2 stars happy with it. Sometimes I have to change to a different clear FM station but I have found the one that works in my area. This item is great on cross-country trips because it charges the ipod and can be moved around the two front seats whereever you need it w/o unplugging it. I can see in the major metro areas it can be hard to find a clear channel which is the drawback to this and all FM transmitters. Hope this helps.

did not fit cigarette lighter.......2007-06-12

this transmitter looked and felt like cheap, but worse, the adapter did not fit into my Honda cigarette lighter! I returned it and bought the DLO TransDock which works great.

Kensington Digital FM Transmitter for iPod.......2007-06-11

It sounds great through the BOSE car stereo system, and I really like the compact size. I only got to use it once and then my son absconded with it. He had a gigantic cumberson old one and he raves about the Kinsington. I guess I'll be ordering another one for myself in the near future...

Hard to read display when not looking straight on, could have been designed better. Bought the belkin one for the wife and would consider that one better due to ease of use.

I had purchased a Belkin transmitter and returned it the next day - piece of crap. I have been using the Kensington model for about a month now and have had very little trouble at all. I live and work in Chicago, and in general get good, clear reception. I find a bit of hissing when I am stopped at an intersection with heavy traffic around me, but otherwise the tone is clear.
It's a good alternative for those of us with a vehicle that only has a CD player.
