Just install the software provided on the enclosed CD onto your computer. Then, connect each end of the cable to the USB ports on both computers. The Windows Easy Transfer wizard automatically appears and lets you select items to copy. With just a couple of clicks, you can transfer your photos, music, settings, etc.

The cable works easily and quickly exactly as claimed. All content of my documents transfered, as well as favorites, cookies, custom dictionary, autocorrect lists, normal.dot. Made the whole process easy. No surprises. No unexpected benefits.

The cable does what it is supposed to do, after you find out how to work it. The software does not show where the data is going on the new computer, so you must first find where to uncheck the box for the drive that is not a destination.

I purchased this gadget to help replacing an old laptop running XP with a new one, running Vista, the latest pile of sh..., err... software from Microsoft. It transfers files well, but I did not use the account and property transfer, because I did not trust it. I needed the file transfer because the old laptop cannot burn CD's reliably anymore.
I will eventually burn CD's from the old system to keep as an archive, before I wipe it and replace it with software fit for humans to use, linux. Belkin, or the OSS developers should produce linux drivers for the gadget, to allow transfers to linux systems.
In truth, most of what this gadget does can be done with a ethernet crossover cable, so it mostly for lazy or ignorant lusers.

Item work well. It was a little slower than the literature said on the transfer speed but I had no other problems with it.
