This bi-directional video cable converts composite RCA to S-Video or vice-versa without the expense of high priced active converters. This quality 75-ohm coax cable is double-shielded with 85% aluminum foil and braid to reduce unwanted noise and distortion. The Y/C signal separation circuitry provides a bright, crisp picture from DVD, VCD, laser disk, VCR, camcorder, multimedia PC and more. This cable works like a dream. I use it to watch movies that are on my laptop (HP ZV6000) and send them to my TV. I got a RCA coupler from radioshack so i could combine this cable with another one so i can have a longer cable. A++++

I bought this cable half minded reading the other reviews and i was bit worried whether it will work. When i hooked up the cable between my laptop and TV, wow.... this is really worth a buy.

We bought this cable to connect our Dell laptop to our old Magnavox TV, so that we could watch DVDs on a bigger screen. It performs that function pretty well. Text is often a bit blurry, however, especially text that isn't very large, and so it can be a mild strain to read subtitles. Overall, though, the picture is of good quality.

One or twice I've tried displaying my computer desktop on the screen instead of a DVD. Then the image has been very blurry. So I definitely couldn't give a PowerPoint presentation by attaching the computer to the TV with this cable.

In short, it's a pretty good deal for playing DVDs, but it might not be suitable for anything else.
