WD's "Secure Connect Cable" is a well-executed and pricey product designed to solve a problem that shouldn't exist in the first place. To their credit, it works great: the connection is 10X more secure than a standard SATA cable. My only objection is having to order this special cable to make a WD HD work in a rugged environment. Seems like a cable-retaining feature could have been incorporated into the HD itself.

It's a genuine WD product, specially designed for their SATA drives (both types.) As advertised, it provides a much stronger connection than some of the cheesy cables available. Plus, Amazon's price was the cheapest I could find.
