4 out of 5 stars Not 100% happy but close.......2007-06-01

Very comfortable I could ware them all day without any problems.
The adjustable retractable mic is a cool feature.
Sound quality is good but it took getting use to after using a $20 headset for so long.
The one thing I do not like is the USB sound card it comes with so I don't use it.
The problem is when you have it plugged in you can't use your desktop speakers
when you want or need them unless you disconnect the USB card which for me is inconvenient.

This is by far the most comfortable set I've purchased. Feels like pillows on your head, and the sound is great. The software was a easy to install and configure.

I like that I can hide the microphone when it's not in use, and the sound is crisp and clear.
I would recommend this set to everyone.

3 out of 5 stars Buy the Steelsound 5H without the USB sound card.......2007-05-09

Pros: A retractable mic which is great for when you are not using it. Soft, comfortable pad around the speakers and still comfortable after a couple of hours using it. Great sound (without the USB sound card)

Cons: The USB sound card is basically worthless since after 5 minutes with music, games, video, or whatever, the audio gets really staticky . When I used the mic with the USB sound card I got a static sound coming out over my voice and no matter how many time i adjusted the settings or the microphone itself, it never changed. If you don't like big headsets, then this probably wouldn't be the one you are looking for.

Other: I suggest getting the Steelsound 5H headset product that doens't have the USB sound card, since the audio is staticky almost all the time but the headset itself is a great buy.

5 out of 5 stars Good comfort and sound.......2007-04-07

My last pair of headphones would become painful to wear after just a few minuets. These completely fit around the ear and barely if at all touch the ear. They are VERY comfortable and I have worn them for several hours at a time while gaming without them bothering my ears.

They also offer very good sound performance. I was very pleasantly surprised at how even bass sounds good in these. I listen to music with these headphones as well.

For gaming, the Steelsound 5H USB V2's are the best I have used to date. They are comfortable, cover the entire ear (but don't give you a headache like other full-ear headsets), and sound great... after adjusting the equalizer a bit. Straight out of the box, games sounded extremely "tinny", and the microphone had/has a very annoying high pitched noise that sounds like electronic interference. After checking with friends who also use this headset, and after bypassing the USB dongle, you can see the microphones poor quality comes from the USB attachment.

After having teammates in Ventrilo complain about the annoying feedback noise, I spent an hour adjusting the microphones volume in the USB soundcard's drivers, and in Ventrilo. For those of you also having this problem, raise your microphones volume in the soundcard control's, and lower your volume in ventrilo / teamspeak / whatever you use.

Even after tweaking it, there is still a buzz, but I'm told it isn't as annoying.

If it weren't for that, this headset would get 5 stars, but the poor quality of the microphone input on the USB device drags it down a bit. Aside from that, amazing sound after you can go in and mess with the equalizer. Music, and games, sound great.
