2 out of 5 stars Microphone no longer functions after ten months.......2007-06-01

Perhaps you don't mind if you get only ten months out of a fairly expensive headset, but though I can hear fine, the microphone no longer works.
I only used it for skype so i wasn't using it all the time.
Is it worth $40 for ten months? Only in this era of planned obsolescence and the soft bigotry of low expectations is this kind of question even entertained.
boo.

4 out of 5 stars Bought Two - May Buy Another.......2007-05-24

No fuss with this headset. Works well, sounds good, records well. The only thing I don't like is that the headset is not adjustable so you can't make it fit larger or smaller. Other than that I love it. The USB adapter alone is almost worth it.

4 out of 5 stars Very good; could be better.......2007-05-13

This headset was the best solution I could find for SKYPEing with a MAC G4 iBook. It has worked great in terms of sound quality. The fit of the headset takes a bit of getting used to; it is not 100% intuitive how to put the thing on. But once on, it is quite comfortable, unless of course you want to lean you head back against the headrest.

My biggest compliant is really one I wouldn't expect the company to address. The device is made with RCA jacks and a "to-USB" adapter, which makes the connection to the computer bulky and ugly. Of course they need to be able to sell the thing to people who need RCA and those who need USB; I understand that. It just was a bit inelegant hanging off the side of my iBook.

2 out of 5 stars Doesn't fit well.......2007-05-13

The reviews of this headset spoke about how well it fit, but I find it to be the contrary. It is way too big for my head and it doesn't adjust (I find that very strange they didn't make it adjustable).

The sounds is fairly good on my end - sometimes it is a bit low but I can even hear background noise pretty well. Some people complain they don't hear me well or it cuts out. I don't have any other headset, so I can't compare the quality or sound that well.

4 out of 5 stars Works perfect with Skype on Apple.......2007-05-12

My iMac does not have a standard audio input, so I looked around for an USB head-set and found this Altec Lansing. OS10.3 recognizes the device when you plug it in.
Pro: The noise cancellation works very well, there is no annoying echo in your call.
Cons: 1) You have to set the audio-input/output to the USB head set BOTH in Apple system audio preferences AND in Skype preferences.
2) The mic is very sensitive for environmental sound, you have to turn down music/TV in your room, otherwise the one you are calling has a hard time understanding you.
