Amazon.com Product Description

The Icemat Siberia Headset delivers pure premium sound quality to your ears through its binaural stereo headphones. It's designed for a variety of purposes, including gaming, listening to MP3 and other portable audio devices, hi-fi stereos, and Internet telephony. The phones are open type, with a black foam band going around your ears rather than sitting right on top of them. So, you'll still be able to hear sounds around you while you're playing a game or listening to music through the phones. That's great if you've got to keep your ears open for mischief from kids rambling around the house or the doorbell.
The large size and self-tensioning adjusters of the phones provide more comfort for your head and help it keep cool even if you're sweating out a game. The Headset's adjustment system gives you the perfect fit no matter the size of your head. The microphone is unidirectional and is equipped with a little clip that lets you attach it to your shirt, the headset, and other objects: whatever's most convenient for you.
Meanwhile, the separate volume regulator allows for easy adjustment of the sound level on the headphones and mic, which will come in handy whenever you want to tone things down a bit for the person you're talking with. A 1.8 meter cord gives you the freedom to position yourself as far from the monitor or TV as you'd like, and an extra 6.3 mm mini jack converter is included for use with professional audio equipment.

4 out of 5 stars Good and Bad at the same time........2007-05-19

Great sound quality-poor durability, warranty purchase a must!

4 out of 5 stars Only for the casual gamer/computer user.......2007-05-10

Although this headset markets itself as the headset for gamers, hardcore gamers should not mistaken this for something that is "a must" to own. Considering that the microphone is completely detached from the headset, it's not the best commodity for someone who uses a headset for hours straight (having different wires extending everywhere). The microphone being detached will lead you to either clip it to your shirt or tape (using Icemat's own stuff that they've provided) to your comp monitor, desktop, etc. I would recommend this for those who require the use of microphones every once in awhile but also appreciate the quality of a headset. The microphone could hardly pick up my voice when I clipped it to my shirt, my friends also spoke of some static in the background that sometimes overtook my voice. It's a decent headset, I would moreover define it as the "stylish" headset and not the gamer's headset.

4 out of 5 stars The headphones are great... the microphone stinks.......2007-03-11

I was really trying hard to love this headset because the sound is awesome. But (and this is a big BUT) - I couldn't get satisfactory response from the microphone. The problem seemed to be that it is never close enough to your mouth due to it being a completely separate unit. You are supposed to clip it to your shirt or mount it on your monitor with the enclosed clip device.

With the mic being separate it was so far away that I either had to set my sensitivity up so high that it picked up everything in the room, or else I had to yell to get it to hear me (and then it still picked up a lot of background noise).

I had to take the set back and get one with an attached microphone since I mainly play online games with my brother-in-law and he simply couldn't hear me at all with this microphone. (I tried every combination of settings in various control panels, both in game and within Windows and Creative control panels.)

PROS:
- Awesome sound
- Very comfortable
- Three piece unit (so you can use headphones with your MP3 player)

CONS:
- Separate microphone with poor quality

Highly recommended if you don't rely on voice chat for gaming (unless you play in your closet).

5 out of 5 stars So comfortable........2007-01-17

Not only does this headset give you excellent sound quality and bass, but it is soo comfortable. They go AROUND your ears, not on them. The velvet-like padding on the outside presses on the sides of your head, not your ears. Best headset I have used so far. I wear glasses sometimes and they dont press my ears against the frames like other headsets do.

Pros- Sound great, comfy, perfect for gaming, and you can place mic almost wherever you want; the cord for the mic is seperate and longer than the headphone cord.

Cons- Can be a bit pricy in stores, but Amazon comes through with great prices yet again. I paid $60 and got free shipping :D

5 out of 5 stars Great standard-level headset.......2007-01-12

After my Audio .90s died, I shopped around and listened to my friend's headsets and decided to go Icemat. Upon starting to play games with it, sounds and direction of effects were much easier to discern. Bass reponse is decent but nothing to rave about.

Only downside is that prolonged use hurts my ears sometimes, which is only a minor setback.

Also, don't tug on the head band as a friend broke one side it and I had to duct tape it.
